Mine definitely has to be New CIvilizations. There were enough restrictions that the field was narrow enough to properly filter our RP, but the sandbox element to it just helped personal creativity flourish. And since we basically had to RP as a fictional version of ourselves, we had to use literally everything we know and everything we've studied to good use. My creative writing degree and acting minor were put to well-enough use! I miss it, and I keep using it as a reference whenever RPs need writing samples.

Aye, that was a fun one. Kinda amusing how we got such a good RP from such beginnings.

Great Confederacy of Commonwealth States wrote:Hey everyone, for National Novel Writing Month I am writing an alternate history novel based on a world where gunpowder cannot be used to make firearms. Everything is the same up to the 14th century. I am reading some academic articles on the subject, but do you guys and girls have any ideas how a gunpowderless world would affect the course of history? I'm looking at military tactics and strategy, military technology, the place of trucks and planes in that kind of warfare, but also the societal impact and the impact on economy and politics.

From what I can tell on the Alternate History forum, chemistry as we know it is pretty fucked. Combustion itself may follow substantially different rules, and railguns are far too down the line. Crossbows would remain the go-to weapon for ranged weapons for the time being. I think you'll find the world changing a lot.
Also, what is novel month? :3

Mister Thirteen wrote:So recently I’ve been juggling the idea of a “fantasy crusader” RP if you will. A small region in a “to-be-created” fantasy world is infamous for it’s Daemon worship and profane rituals. Canabilism, bestial fetishim, mass human sacrifice, using children as vents to the Daemonic realms, the whole nine yards. An order of holy crusaders, or Paladins, campaign into the region to exterminate the dark religions of old and convert the populace to their own religion.
This RP was inspired by the historical Baltic Crusade and the Vigilants of Stendarr from Skyrim exclusively. Players can choose to play as an order Paladin or a warrior or warlock of the Daemon worshipping populace. This will effectively be much like Warhammer 40K in a sense. The majority of the RP will be epic and bloody battles of intense graphics and mass destruction.
Well?... Thoughts? Input? Comments? Insults?
