My personal intro to Mecha was Chromehounds, which I absolutely loved when I was younger.

I miss that game.

Last one I played was Armored Core: For Answer. Gotta say taking on one of those huge Arms Forts is good fun.

My first was technically SDF Macross, but Sento Yousei Yukikaze is very mech-like in story.

Dieselpunk, named after the Diesel Engine (a 1892 invention that didn't get wide use till the 20th Century, is set in a world resembling that of the 30s and 40s utilizing art deco, streamline designs, and typically features a world where World War II ended in a stand still resulting in an uneasy peace between the Axis and the Allies. As with most punks it's a retrofuture setting with a focus on diesel technology.

Cyberpunk, named after Cyberspace and Cybernetics, is set in a more 80s,90s type of retrofuture with a focus on VR, Cybernetics, and internet's effect on society; typically such RPs take place in a police state where everything is monitored thanks to the network. Typically Cyberpunk either focuses on detectives, rebels, etc with Matrix being considered a popular film in the genre along with 'Ghost in a Shell'.

Ocean/seapunk is set in a world of Oceanographic colonization with a focus on diving technology, submersibles, floating cities, underwater cities, and mutagen- as it some times features human life adopted to the sea. Some themes include humanity returning to the sea, global warming, and life evolving from the sea. Works like Blue Submarine No. 6 are the best example of the genre. Some works have the protagonist as pirates. The game Subnautica is Oceanpunk and available on Steam.

Biopunk has a focus on biological technology such as engineered viruses, bioweapons, genetic resequencing, eugenics, cloning, etc. Typically involving themes about nature, control of nature, and the animal nature of man cloaked in civility. Most of the time the protagonists are bio-engineers.

There is also now a solarpunk. TVTropes has a decent definition on its page for that.

I like a little steampunk here and there. Leviathan, by Scott Westerfield is a good alt history/steampunk. I would highly recommend looking into it.

I wanna see an adult Super Sentai thing. Like power rangers, but a punch of pissed off drunken middle aged guys out to save the world, with crude humor, but that's still just as low-budget and campy as the old shows. I don't know why, it just sounds fun.

It's a location in DnD's Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting. It's featured in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II.

So far the first Dark Alliance game is the only one I've beat- I tend to die easily in the first and second games in the Baldur's Gate series.

The setting's interesting- it's a land of small city states- the remains of once powerful Empires.... I don't know if this is giving away too much but it's like that because of a secret society that believes that no one should have too much power over others- they're Chaotic... Good I suppose. They keep some Empire from forming out of the states; with most of the old 'realms' being forgotten. Ruins of them stand but their history has long faded from living memory.

So, to those who have played either or both, who thinks they should be remade for PS4, XBOX 1, or PC?

Granted Dark Alliance would be forced to compete with games such as The Elder Scrolls, Dark Souls, and Dragon Age.

Mace Griffin however would not have much to compete with due to its originality in story, settings, races, weapons, ect.

I'm somewhat interested in something either based on or inspired by the setting of New Albion from the operas/albums of Paul Shapera. I've just been really into his work, among other artists, since I started listening to Steampunk music.

Anyways, already looking at one Steampunk RP that's currently open. I've just been a bit sidetracked with other stuff outside of NS.

Just make one, really. So long as you have the folks for it, you got one, and you can make a pretty thread and chat about RP shit in it.

I personally am involved with a small group right now that's organizing and planning out a new thread right now. It's been mulling over ideas and getting together for a few weeks now.

Though I personally am opposed to groups/threads in general, I just sort of ended up in the Discord for one. I find the concept cliquey and bad for P2TM, personally.

The same as any thread, though it's best to have connections first. RP groups are characterized by having several RPs under their "brand" and at least a few players who the founder already knows ready to sign up so that a community can be established.
