Also, why are Mech RPs so hard to generate interest in? I've had this mech RP idea for awhile and I've tried a few times to get it off the ground but each time I always get ">mech, lol no." I remember a fairly successful mech RP awhile back, so am I just looking in the wrong places?

Well I could try to throw my support at you, but I'm a Fantasy person. If a civilization has guns, they have an advantage in combat but they can't beat the boys with the bows because Magic ex machina.

I'm just curious as to why with Mech seems to be a dead genre. I have no way to explain nor has the reasoning ever really been explained to me either.

What I'd have concern with, getting into mechs, is to what kind of fire it could take and how much of it, and vice versa. What it could dish out. How realistic damage is, like whether it could limp or it'd fall over. Mobility. Damage to driver.

You can read the last incarnation for info on that. Essentially mechs can kill mechs but specialized infantry can also take out a mech. Very similar to the dynamic between infantry and tanks in modern war. Mechs aren't great anti-personal weapons on their own but do good at attacking and holding a position and bringing needed fire power to a battle.

Anyone else dabble in D&D or watch YouTube videos about it? Though it's not quiet the same as text-based Roleplay, I still find videos by Puffin Forest and their lessons and stories to fit well with P2TM RP as well.

A few include stories about powergaming, bad and good mysteries, etc. one I actually just watched is about GMs/OPs and whether or not breaking rules or making exceptions in order to influence stories to their liking is right.

One of my favorites is about an unsolvable murder mystery, and how some mysteries can be very transparent or very difficult.

Bought a book on D&D a few years back, but unfortunately could never find anyone to play with. Actually been reexploring it, coincidentally, and watching Critical Role.

Well then, I'll work on Rebooting Ivory Coast. I think this time I'll change it over to Nicuragua since Central America is the least explored region of the lore. It would also give it a nice tinge of Cold War imagery and thematics.

I will need to make another banner though, I like SVG lettering in camo so I'll keep that but a new name and general look to the banner will be needed.

Mech RPs always seem to me like something that sound good in theory but are vastly more difficult in practise.

Mainly because the reason most of us like mecha is because of exclusively visual media, not written.
