I actually ran a really long lasting and strong RP on discord, after me and my friends made the move from rping on NS to rping on discord. Of course, I still think the RP scene here is still kicking, but maybe that's just me.

1. I've seen enough RPs with their own discords die because of lack of activity, because everyone was more focused on posting memes in the chat. I stick by it.

2. Were you even around on here when that happened?

2010. P2TM split around 2012. I have much fonder memories from then, because it was generally a less pretentious place, and more "Wild West"-ie in my experience.

Oddly enough, I don't remember the split back in 2012. While I was off and on NS for most of the first half, still surprised I don't remember thinking "huh, this wasn't like back when I was last here."

Indeed. The offsite chats make the OOC's look inactive and thus disaude's players from joining in, and for those already involved, can exclude them should they lack the systems to get involved. It takes things away from the forums and thus distances them from the IC thus hastening the RP's demise.

I was (embarassingly enough) in the old NSH RP which went on for several threads and should've died much earlier before we eventually ended it.
