If you can win victories support will grow, best to use hit and run tactics or do your best fight when the conditions suit you, cause too many losses and the rebellion dies. You also need a cause to fight for much more then,"This was our land."

covertly incite hatred of the oppressors into your people and recruit them,
find some nice hinterlands to hide your growing army in,
steal supplies from the oppressors' stores (the more you steal the more they notice I would think)
Build some forts etc. where you can defend strategic areas,
invite more and more of your people into that area,
seek inter-state recognition and backing from your oppressor's rivals,
start raiding their supply-lines,
declare war,

Iffy on that, just replacing one expansionist Egypt with another. Feel more comfortable aiding the Seleucids or the formation of Canaan to break down stability entirely.
