I'm somewhat attempting to form the Alexandrian Empire as Egypt, though it's gonna be kind of a slow process if I actually attempt it. I might just conquer Syria, Anatolia, and Cyprus and call it a day.

You should totally fund Hittite rebels in Anatolia.


Also, if you capture Antioch and vassalize Macedon, Thrace, Seleucids, and Bactria, you can form it. By funding those Hittite and Byzantine rebels, you would pretty much eliminate Thrace from the Alexandrian game.

I would consider funding Hittite rebels, though since the Hittites and Egyptians were mortal enemies long ago, back when Egypt was actually ruled by Egyptians, it might be a bit ironic for me to fund those rebels. But, if it'll weaken Seleucid control over Anatolia, I'll think about. I'll try to vassalize Macedon, but I don't want to support Byzantine rebels because I would rather ally with (and hopefully vassalize in the future) Lysimachus, the current ruler of Thrace who did actually ally with Ptolemy historically. I would attempt to vassalize Bactria, but I would first have to fight my way through Persia and Mesopotamia just to reach Bactria, and the last thing I want to do is fight a long war in those far-flung regions.

Before anyone points this out, Bactria is considered a successor regardless of vassalage.

Personally I would've formed an alliance against Rome as soon as they took the Italian Peninsula and beat Carthage the first time, focused on a containment policy, but some good did come out of Rome going ham.
