1. 6
2. 4: No gain. Work more on gaining followers because otherwise you need an extremely high roll.
3. 2: Due to the plague there has been a panic in the market. There has been little gains to be made.
4. 9: The temple is fully restored.
5. 3:
6. Denied due to lack of having anyone who can reach or sabotage the German or British Navies.

I will handle the rest later.

Now as for why it was capped and the other was not I am unsure, since two different people made that decision. Why I capped your increase was because I was picturing you were aiming to recruit the best of the best thus the best of the best would be in limited numbers and would be picky about their choices in employers. A five in that case was it sounded good to some but not enough for others. If I thought that you were just willing to recruit any random person who happens to call themselves a merc I wouldn't have capped it.

While for the soldiers thing under the one Faal did I am, again, unsure but if I had to justify it is that he was just recruiting random grunts, cannon fodder basically not a professional soldier which is symbolized by the officers recruitment being separate from the main. So they are not specialists by virtue of not having any power and just being random people who have a gun, so similar if one recruited the State of Texas. Again that is my guess but I think it makes sense. I honestly had no power in that and I assumed that is the method Faal used.

Then how are militiamen, who have less training than these soldiers, considered "specialists"? And, were any of my rolls affected by these specialists?

Did you ask for any rolls where they were relevant or have you done any rolls since then? And perhaps because I thought, again, elites, that is what I thought therefore I take blame for that.

As I recall Faal randomly rolled the dice it landed on a 1 and me, being random, joked about it getting worse by making a fake post.

The OP has not disagreed with any of my rolls.... And I have been interpreting the rolls for different situations.

Now with that one I could have had the guy lose a bunch of followers, I'm fact I was going to, but then I thought that that was to much, so I reduced the loss so the player wouldn't freak out and complain.

It hasn't spread across continents but it can end up killing millions at this point.
Elysian Kentarchy wrote:Religion was mostly abolished besides a few hold outs so violating Islamic traditions is not relevant. This is supposed to be set in sometime in the future after all. As for their military oaths unless it explicitly says "I will swear allegiance to no God" they are not violating it.

What? First; even in atheist countries traditions persevered. The USSR was remarkably sexist and socially illiberal despite being state atheist. Second, why would we be so advanced that religion has passed away, but we have pretty much the exact same technology? I though this was 20-30 years into the future, not 25th century.
Elysian Kentarchy wrote:The Prime Minister was gained by lucky circumstances. He was visiting a dojo and met Taniko, talked for a bit, (not a follower and that was a 9) and he converted later (during a state sponsered program run by Taniko that the Prime Minister watched thanks to a 10 which was a follow up of a 10 which combined with the 9). Under normal circumstances no you will not convert the president of ANY country unless you A. have access to the person through your followers or B. you take over the country and make them bow down to you pretty much.

Except it's already happened - so it can happen again. Keep rolling until you get high rolls.

Not to mention this is criminally unbalanced towards a lot of players with poor dice rolls. Why even play at that point?

Elysian Kentarchy wrote:No Flame wouldn't have if Flame got a 9. And the answer is the difference is only if a 7 is the bare minimum needed for success. And a 6 isn't then a 6 would fail while a 7 would squeak by. Yes it can be arbitrary but the world is complex enough that a case by case basis is somewhat more appropriate. Especially since virtually each God is a wildly different individual and each circumstance is different too.

A case by case basis does not mean arbitrary decisions. It means taking the circumstances into account. This hasn't been done, and the results have varied wildly.

Elysian Kentarchy wrote:Incorrect. The Saving Throw was made because another roll needs to be made. The saving throw was a poor choice of words. The roll was to determine what would happen after the failure of the previous one. I could have left it off with "2: adamant refusal security is called" But what then? Another roll was needed to be made because then just about anything could have happened so it needed to be determined. So a followup roll was made and it was an 8 which meant you managed to recover. that is all that I meant by the words saving throw.

Yet this hasn't been done in other rolls, and this extremely non-transparent. No one knew about the existence of this saving throw except for you, and other rolls haven't had the same treatment. For instance where was the "saving" throw for the plague roll - there wasn't one.

Elysian Kentarchy wrote:I don't think it is a wildly different person because the Chief of the Navy in every country where the President isn't the only one in charge of the military is supposed to be of Admiral, or at least Vice-Admiral, rank.

In Greece, it is the person effectively in charge of the military.
Elysian Kentarchy wrote:The kind of Admiral recruited was never specified and not every sailor is an Admiral. And no you most likely wouldn't because the President doesn't spend every day visiting Senators and you would pretty much need to meet with the president himself to recruit him.

Neither does the Vice Admiral spend every day meeting the lower admirals.

You seem to be the only one pointing out or thinking about the "keep rolling until I get a good roll" method. Considering not a single person has done that thus far.

No, I am saying that is something you can use when there is no logical rules regarding what a roll means.

It is better to do away with it all together than pretend we have a mathematical basis on our decisions.

I believe he is referring to all players as a single entity. It's like saying "You're all in trouble"

Ok... Then if you ever get a 1 with a follower roll I'll make sure I take a large portion of your followers... I think a lose of 10% of your followers could suffice...

See? This is the problem I have with this RP. You have now, out of only spite, decided to be harsher on my rolls than rolls of others, despite getting the exact same result.

I disagree with the reason for brining it up but in a thing that kills followers that makes sense doesn't it? But it shouldn't be applied to just you. What is in the past is done.

No, I am saying that is something you can use when there is no logical rules regarding what a roll means.

It is better to do away with it all together than pretend we have a mathematical basis on our decisions.

But again, nobody has mentioned it but you, nobody has tried to do anything like that either and I doubt anyone will.
A nation plagued by bad writing from when I was 16, that I can't be bothered to change..so enjoy.

If they did they would be shot down immediately. The rolls as made stands.

Scenario: the 8 was a 1 instead "Amalia is shot and killed" no take backs and that was what I had decided if it was that. And you trusted yourself to the dice and lost.
