Make an animal with only one ability: air staring. No-one's sure what this is, but it causes fits of uncontrollable laughter in nearby humans.

Done. It'll be released with the other two animals I'm working on.

So I had some ideas I wanted to share.

Image

The Calvary Boys are a nightmare, plaguing the whole Deadlands. They are nomadic Christian fanatics, who believe that this is the time of Revelations, and that if they cleanse enough unbelievers, that they will be raptured into Heaven. To this end, they roam the wastes, heavily armed, riding bardagons, attacking homes and communities. They kill or enslave everyone they come across, regardless of whether or not the person is a fellow Christian, because they believe that they're the only true believers, and all others are merely hellspawn. Needless to say, they are hated and feared across the whole Deadlands, as is their leader, Reverend Michael Koresh.

Bardagons are simple: scorpions the size of Texas longhorn cattle, with tails and stingers that can be up to fifteen feet long. They have some form of intelligence, and are often compared to wolves. Bardagons can be tamed, trained, and ridden, and are the favored mount of the Calvary Boys.

I keep reading Bardagons as Bad Dragons and now I'm imagining cowboys riding giant dragon dildos enslaving people.

MORE AMINALZ

Garglepuss: otherwise known as the Land Kraken is an unbelievably dangerous burrowing animal that often lives near swampy areas. What is primarily seen is dozens of long 40 foot clawed appendages that grab prey and drag it down into the muck. Almost nothing else is known about them. Scientists that have analyzed the DNA of them have found that their DNA is incredibly close to that of the Giant Squid.

Silverbacks: Silverbacks are what the old world used to call gorilla's however, these apes have rapidly become far more intelligent and populous. They can often be found roaming the deathlands. Ranchers often have trouble with them raiding livestock in the middle of the night.

Airstarers: A strange species of rodent(Believed to be related to prairie dogs) that dig large intricate tunnels underground. They're named after their habit of aggressively staring at thin for hours on end. Embarassingly easy to hunt and surprisingly nutritious. They show no signs of dwindling.

First is counties, second is congressional districts. Variety for flavor.

The Continental US will be good for when the groups start traveling. The city ones are great for the prelude and starting chapter.

Land Kraken didn't seem like a proper name and Gurglepus(Gurgle from the sound its prey makes when dragged into the depths of its swamp, and pus because it's kinda octopus like.)

Airstarers however I completely stand by. We need something to kill for food that doesn't fight back.

It'd be interesting to see some mutated flora;

Killer plant, exploding seed pods, poison flowers, some kudzu-thornbush hybrid, some kind of corn mutant that punishes American reliance and subsidies on the crop because irony. All fun ideas.

Its justs... I don't see Loyalist Army units, running away in terror, shouting "Gurglepus! Fuck this shiiit!" :lol:

So Airstarers (fucking Rob put you up to this huh?) would be our kobolds?
