The Half-Blood Academy IC (Redo)

Postby Nuridia » Mon Nov 23, 2015 3:22 pm

Typical rules, no fighting, overtly sexual scenes, respect me, my co-op Tomia and other RPers, and the only species you can use must be humanoid and sentient in some way. Credit goes to the fabulous Tomia for coming up with this brilliant RP. Well, onto the OP:

Welcome to the weirdest place on earth, where future superstars are made and fairies fly around the halls, the Duncan Academy for Performing Arts.

This school has been around for about ten years, located in the great Manhattan, New York, and although it has trained some of the most brilliant and talented peformers and stars in the world, few have heard of it. The reason being, this boarding school/arts academy attends many clientele. Many being of the non human origin and thus more susceptible to judgement and physical harm by the mortal world should they ever be discovered. It was founded on the hope that the mythical creatures and humans could co-exist and one day create a peaceful world, founded by John Evans, a demigod and son of Jupiter and Aurelia Brandon, the half angelic daughter of the archangel Raphael. The two met at a high school for half human children and became fast friends, eventually falling in love and getting married out of college with John going on to be a great football player and Aurelia going on to become a celebrated contemporary artist in her native Paris as well as the world. Their family which consisted of their adopted half fairy daughter Asteria, now a huntress of Diana expanded to include two natural children between the couple who both go to the school although Asteria attends part time. Aurelia is the principal and arts teacher in the school and considers her students as family.

That same principle was used to found the Sports part of the Academy where John, a famous quarterback in the NFL specializes as head football coach. This is the level of the academy for mixed students that teaches and trains in competitive sports such as swimming, football, baseball , track and soccer. Just like the arts students, exceptional students could even earn scholarships in their field of expertise to the college of their choice. However, as alike as these two parts of the school are they are drastically different. The arts students sometimes think the sports are uncouth and low intellect, and the sports think that performing arts are too soft and stuck up. The sports and arts kids have had a friendly rivalry since the school started and have often tried to outdo each other in contests, but more often then not you can see jocks walking around with ballerinas in the hallways. A school designed to make half human kids feel safe, there's a strong sense of camraderie between them and that's what makes the school so loved.

Ariana Evans/Dominique Gavin
Ariana was getting ready for the first day of school after summer break, she took her time because she didn't have to worry about being late much, she could just telepoet to class and since her parents run the school she lived in the dorms like everyone else.

Coming out her long black hair, she pulled a fluffy pink sweater over her head and made zure her dance bag was packed, practice leotards, tutu, stockings, Pointe shoes and of course her grandpa Raph's famous healing balm. He made huge jars for the kids to take to school every year, since all three of his grandchildren did things that more often than not led to injury in some sort of way.

"Girl, you ready yet? You don't wanna be late to class on our first class do ya? I wanna get some warm ups in or I'm gonna be frozen as Masha Isakova was when she forgot the steps to Clara on opening night!" Ariana grinned and opened the door, her best friend Dominique was standing there with her dance bag over her shoulder, dressed in a glittery top with a denim jacket and jeans that was open just enough to show off her sparkly belly ring. Her curly brown hair was braided back into a bun and her pink sunglasses were over her eyes.

"Nicki!" "Ana!" The girls squealed and embraced each other laughing. They'd been friends for ten years since r hey met in ballet class.
"Girl what are you even doing here?" Ana asked as they walked to class. The dark skinned girl smiled.
"Well I swiped us some grub and decided to head up. I need to get some practice in, my pirouettes are still off as fuck. Mr. and Mrs. E should be there so your parents may be able to talk to you before breakfast Ana."
she laughed as they walked into the cafeteria.

*sigh* "Another day in paradise..." Todd mumbled to himself as he walked toward the band hall. He had arrived 10 minutes earlier then anybody else in a gray button shirt, blue jeans, and converse. He had forgotten to brush his hair, but he always did that. Todd had brought his backpack, which weighed a million pounds and was slowly crushing him, and his saxophone to school in hopes he could put it in his locker.

As Todd walked towards the band hall, he saw a small, dying, potted plant in front of a teacher's door. Looking both ways to see if nobody was looking, he used his free hand to touch the plant. And is if by magic, which it was, the plant stood tall and slowly gained its color back. Todd admired his handiwork, smiling a little for his good deed of the day, and continued towards the band hall.
I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all year.

A blonde was already in line, talking to a tall sturdy redheaded cafeteria lady in some sort of foreign language as she was served some spicy stew with vegetables and some rolls colored with an alarmingly red paprika. Not typical American breakfast food, but the girl tyanked her and walked away.
Tündér, as the girl's name was had found a seat and started eating. She was a tiny thing with sharp elfin features and pale skin, dwarfed by a Hungarian soccer hoodie and combat boots, her wand sitting on her tray.

Aurelia Evans was sitting with the other teachers, her black hair loose as she drank her tea and talked with her colleagues about what lessons they would teach that day. Looking around the cafeteria, she was
saw her daughter and her best friend eating together and smiled. Her family is very important to her and she was happy that she got to spend all her time with them, her eldest daughter Asteria was away but visited as often as often as she could. She wondered where her husband and son were, Michael and John were the quarterback and coach of the football team and so practiced often, but hoped they'd get to spend breakfast together.

Michael Evans
Michael Evans had already been up for about 2 hours, since be and the rest of the Football team had early practice before classes started. He had hopped into the school showers before heading towards the school cafeteria for breakfast. His hair was messy and a bit spikey as usual, and he wore a plan white t-shirt and jeans. He saw his younger sister Ariana and her best friend Dominique heading toward the cafeteria themselves. Michael smiled and blushed at the same time. He was glad to see his little sister, but he had a huge crush on Dom and so was uncharacteristically shy around her. Michael grabbed some breakfast and then placed his tray down next to Ariana before reaching over and tickling her ribs playfully in hello. "Hey sis, great to see you." Mike said with a mischievous grin. Before turning to Dom and blushing a bit again.

Meanwhile John Evans came into the cafeteria himself after showering and changing himself. He smiled brightly when he saw hi wife and co-principle of the school sitting at a nearby table. Aurelia was the love of his life, and he cared about her and his children a great deal. He grabbed himself a small breakfast before heading toward her, kissing her cheek and wrapping his arm around her, pulling her into an embrace as he sat down. "Morning love, excited for the first day of school?" He asked with a bright smile.
Craig Wilson
In the cafeteria, there was a boy sitting alone at a table, wearing a thick sweatshirt with his hood up. He had been dropped off by his parents and now he was didn't know what to do so he was sitting alone before heading to his dorm. Craig often preferred to be alone and people didn't seem to want to bother him either. Most people were scared of the large piano player, even though he never meant anyone harm. He decided shortly after arriving at the school that if people didn't want to get to know him, he wouldn't get to know them.

This is lonely.

The dark-haired girl adjusted her equally dark glasses as she blinked back into existence. Being a ghost, she didn't technically need sleep, but she could temporarily dissolve the chemicals that made up her phantasmal form and then come back together, which left her feeling refreshed and new as if she had actually slept. She didn't need to get dressed or anything of that sort--again, due to her ghostly nature. She simply hung her camera around her neck, adjusted her glasses once more, opened the door to her room, and left for another day of misery.

Again, being a ghost, she could simply have walked through it, but exposure to ghost stories had taught her that ghosts only had enemies. So she hid her nature, though it was hard sometimes... She had to.
Pain. So much pain.

It was hard for the girl to get ready in the morning--Proteus syndrome had seen to that. The slightest pressure on her legs sent agony through her body, and yet she couldn't not get dressed. That's why she usually wore skirts--much easier to put on.

Finally, with a sigh of relief, she fell back into the familiar shape by her bedside--her wheelchair. Covering her legs with a white blanket to hide the disfigurement, she snatched up some art supplies and left the room to another day of misery.
Oh, come on!

The redhead struggled angrily to put on her backpack. It wasn't that it was heavy--in fact, it was completely empty. It was simply that the girl had to hide--My deformities, she thought with a flash of bitterness--or she'd be mocked. She knew that. Mocked and bruised, and worse. She finally managed to put the accessory on, slipping the 'deformities' in through the hole she'd made in the bag while managing to secure it on her back. Thank goodness.

Being a Naphil was hard, so hard. She couldn't let anyone know--and that meant wearing the backpack to hide her wings, and always, always keeping control of her emotions. If she couldn't do that...

She dispelled the thought, scooped up the book bag that actually held her school supplies, and stepped out into another day of misery.
Three girls, three outcasts, three 'freaks' trying to hide their true selves. Three sad, lonely people, all wishing for a world that cared. Three miserable existences--one counting the days until death, one knowing in her heart she would never be free, and one silently begging the people around her to end what she could not.

Three 'lives'. Three survivors. What they had could be called a life...

But am I truly living?
No, I wish I could, but I can't.
No, not for a long time, and it's a life I can never lead again.
No, and I never, never will.
Not in a world like this.

Nico Di Angelo walked into the grand entrance of the prestigous school. All he carried with him was a crumpled dollar bill and a mechanical pencil with half it's lead missing. He had found both itmes within the past five minutes on the ground outside the campus. Nico was wearing Black, athletic shorts and a grey shirt with a black skull on it; however, it was covered up by his favorite black sweater. His knees where caked in mud and underneath his shirt he had a barely closed wound that he sustained from some street thug that Nico attempted to mug earlier for his money.

The first thing that Nico noticed when walking in was that practically everyone was dressed nicer than he was. Nico knew that the school was higher-end and expensive and on normal circumstances he would not be able to afford to go to the school, but he was able to pickpocket several wallets from the area using his shadow travelling abilities (That he is still perfecting). The people in this area where pretty "well-off" so Nico didn't feel remorse as he stole people's money.

Nico looked down at his new Room Key Card, and saw that his room number was Room 117. Nico tried to comb down his messy hair to a certain degree and get most of the dirt out of it, and then he began his trek down the hall.

Merlin

The first day. Merlin walked up and entered the school, a single bag over his shoulder. The new students would think that he was a student, but to those who in the know, they would know that he has been around longer than the school, he was the schools Counselor since it opened.

He made his way to his office and sighed. He closed the door and put his bag down. He got to work on making sure the office was nice and tidy. He found a pile of files on his desk, Academic records, good. he thought as he sat down and started to read through them.

When he was done, he put them into his filing cabinet. Then he returned to his desk and took more files out of it. These are the fun files.... I mean interesting fun... Merlin thought.

Sure you did... A dark, yet soft voice said in his head.

Shut up.

Her eyes snapped to him--Valen! Finally!--and she lifted the camera, snapping a covert picture.

Perfect.
She was sketching a scene from The Phantom of the Opera, when Erik believed Christine was going to marry him. His face was practically glowing--he wasn't going to be alone any longer. On the other hand, her face was filled with despair...

And yet the picture radiated happiness. Joy.

For a moment, she almost forgot her own troubles.
The redhead, however, could never forget her troubles. Her burden was heavy, and whenever silence reigned, the screams in her mind shattered it.

Make it stop...

Please... For the love of God, stop screaming!

I'm not the one screaming. You are.

And don't even mention your precious Big Dude in the Sky. Your pitiful belief is almost as pathetic as you are.

It was obvious enough you didn't believe; you don't need to say such things.

But I want to.

Yes, and I have to suffer because of it.

Exactly.

A 1987 IROC Z-28 roared like a demon out of Hell as it spun into the parking lot, the car was black as the depths of Hell it had seemingly materialized out of, the full front of the car and even extending to the fenders bore the satanic grimace of sharp pointed white fangs on crimson red relief with the eyes of this monstrosity sitting on either side of the caliduction on the hood. The rear fenders bore the American aircraft emblem in grey while the right passenger door read a name in white cursive while below it DRAGON was scrawled in massive thick bold red paint that had dripped like blood. Most notable was the fact that this model was supposed to have "T-tops", meaning the roof was composed of two glass sections that could be removed for airflow, the roof of this metal machine just had a circular hatch most similar to an assault vehicle - as if a machine gun could actually be hook up atop it. The dark tinted windows, that as it pulled under the shade of a tree lessened until translucent, had less glare to them as if not true glass - indeed upon inspect they would prove to be a composite of bullet resistant material. As if the car itself did not showcase the odd personality of the occupant the license plate sure got the point across as it was blacked out and bore nothing other than the registration number in white relief.

Having parked under the shaded tree that was not far from the parking spot, the Dragon ceased its howling to the Inferno below and the thick metal door clanked open, from inside the armored beast a boy emerged. This boy wore his short hair in a comb over that covered the top half of his forehead, the hair a greying brown. He had aristocratic features such as a pointed chin, relatively sharp and angular nose, but it was obvious he had native blood with his high cheek bones and rather small mouth. His pale skin would betray him anywhere as he practically shined under the sun if not for his brown horsehide leather flight jacket, the lamb fur collar of which was a pure white, and his white short sleeved shirt that ended in worn blue jeans who's bottoms sat capping the heel of black steel toed combat boots. Taking his aviators off and hanging them on the set of dog tags that clung around his neck the boy sighed as his phone went off. Yanking the device from his pocket as the opening to the Star Spangled Banner blasted through the parking lot he placed it to his slightly pointed ear.

"Patton here," he waited and nodded his head, "yeah, just arrived." He tapped his foot and leaned against the monster of a vehicle, the residual heat of the engine warming his leg, "Lizzy, why do you call me with your work number?" James shook his head as the other person on the line could be heard giggling. "You sure they will let you over for lunch? I bet they won't." The lad's face turned white as a bed sheet as he leaned against the car, "Oh, Lord, dont tell them that!" James sighed, "Anyway, at school, see ya, sis. If you do stop by try to do it during lunch. Also, your school is just up the road right? I might sneak out to see you during lunch. Anyway, have fun at the academy. Love you, see you soon." James blew a kiss at the phone, which oddly enough looked natural despite his predator figure overall. From there he would just grab his bag and go to his first class in an effort to get to know the school first.

"So Mike, how's things? Did you finally get your ass handed to you this year or did you manage to win again?" Ariana teased her brother while Dominique giggled a little and then turned to Mike.
"Hey Mike, I guess practice went well huh?" Dom said a bit shyly which was a shock considering that her sparkle was usually very high. When she was around Michael words seemed to fail her.
"Maaaamaan! Paaapa!" Ariana called over to the table where Aurelia and John were sitting. Aurelia smiled and blew a kiss to her children.
"Mes anges." she called back before kissing John on the cheek. "I'm fine love, how about you?" she asked him.

Meanwhile at another table, there was a girl with pale gray eyes, long red hair and a glaucous tinge to her pale skin sitting across from a very beautiful blonde with killer curves and a bit of a golden glow around her. She was on the phone animatedly conversing with somebody in Italian, failing to notice anybody else around her. The redhead seemed to have clear webbing between her fingers that was a bit longer than normal people's and the bluish tinge in her eyelids and lips was darker than the rest of the skin, ropes of pearls decorated her neck and hair.

Mike chuckled at his sister's squeals, pleased when he heard Dominique snort as well. He then smiled a bit as his sister's teasing. "You know we don't play till this weekend sis. You're gonna come watch me right?" He asked before turning towards Dom, blushing a bit as he spoke. "Uh... Ya practice was fine. It's great to see you again Dom. How's dance been going?" He asked trying not to seem as nervous as he felt. He smiled however when his little sister called out to their parents. They were all very close, and Mike really enjoyed having his family around so much. Suddenly a small winged horse came clomping through the hall and slide into Mike's legs playfully. Mike couldn't help but smile and shake his head as he picked the pegasus up. "Starlight, what are you doing here buddy? Did you sneak out of the kennel again?" Mike asked as he pet the small horse that sat on his lap.

John smiled brightly when he heard her call and waved happily to her and Mike. He wanted badly to go over to them and hug them, but didn't want to embarrass them in front of their friends. He instead turned to his wife when she asked him how he was. He planted a soft kiss on her neck before answering. "I'm doing well my love, much better now that I'm with you." He said sweetly to her.

Oh, marshmallows--I'll have to delete it now, won't I?
Life. I could get into a monologue on the nature of it. I might. It would be interesting at the very least.

'What if she works for my father, what if he found me?'

This and a plethora of other questions went through his mind as he walked up to the girl wearing all black. 'That is alot of black, maybe she is from the underworld' Nico thought as he looked at his own black attire. Finally he reached the girl in black after cutting through the hallway and looked at her camera and then at her. "D-did you take a picture of me?" He asked.
The Quackers are coming...

The sky was wondrous as James sighed, his thoughts drifted away to a young lass as he sat under a mighty oak tree. Laying back against the bark he read his watch and saw school was far from starting, thus James decided to sit back and relax; under this mighty oak tree he would sleep, something he had neglected to do for a long time.

As the lovely blue grey of the sky melted into darkness James felt the weight of his shoulders lift and vanish into thin air as the gentle breeze blew across his face and ruffled his hair gently, with this James escaped life and fell into nothingness. The calmness of the world vanished and he stood, no existed, solely in darkness. Around him flames of exploding light blossomed as plane engines roared, the unseen angels spitting destruction onto the landscape. The sounds of helicopters landing thundered and exploded before crashing down in an invisible sea. Men screamed and bellowed as rockets blasted down from the sky and smashed into them. Tanks rolled over hills and fought each other as flames jetted into the sky. The planes above were shot down by artillery fire and screeched into the land as they blew into shards and cinders of vermilion flames.

James stood watching the battle in horror as he saw faces, familiar and yet muddled, fight to the death and die in gruesome gridlock.

"Leave me alone!" James shouted out and the scene vanished, now the scared boy was shaking in the freezing cold of the abyss. Losing footing he fell through the open darkness and landed hard, this was him falling over and landing with his face in the ground.

"Can't even get sleep, screw this." James got up and grabbed his bag, it was time for a good healthy run, more a sprint, the hardest sprint James could muster as he held his map and ran as fast as possible through the school. The subtle breeze that turned into hard wind as he ran erased in that moment any thought of the horrors of humanity and instead let him only focus on his objective, and that was getting to first period.

"Hey Star, how's things? Where's Luna hun, where's your sister?" Ariana said as she tickled the baby Pegasus laughing, feeding him an apple from her dish. Asteria, Mike and Ana's oldest sister had a Pegasus named Zephyr when she was little. Zephyr had found a mate on his travels and had two foals which were given to Asteria's siblings.

"It's pretty good but you know everything gets better when you're here love." Aurelia said, kissing her husband's cheek.
"Oh by the way, Mom, Dad and Salma all called me amnd said they were going to be swinging by for lunch. Asteria said she was coming too so I assume Diana will be there, we'll finally get to see them. Also Salma is pregnant again, you already know but I just wonder what new burns Eric got for his pains this time?" the half angel laughed. "And we'll get to see little Rolfie again, Salma said he's really excited about the twins and hopes one of them's a little brother."
Rolf was Salma and Eric's four year old son, he took mainly after his mother's fire jinn side but had his dad's lycanthropy as well. However Rolf could control it pretty well for somebody of his age.

The pegasus squirmed playfully under Ariana's tickling, licking her hand in retaliation before grabbing the apple in his mouth and chomping on it happily. Michael couldn't help but laugh at the scene. Luna and Starlight were the best pets they could have asked for. "Luna's a good girl, and doesn't escape the stables everyday." Mike said half jokingly. Starlight certainly had a problem with staying in his pen. He often liked to escape and roam around the school.

John smiled brightly when Aurelia said that her parents, Salma and Eric, and Asteria would be coming to visit. "That's great sweetie. I'm really looking forward to them coming." He then chuckled at Aurelia's comment about Eric. Eric sometimes got burned when he and Salma slept together. It was rarely serious, but it was fun to mess with them about it sometimes. "Well, I guess we'll see when he comes. I guess it's an occupational risk when you're the husband of a fire jinn queen. And I can't wait to see Asteria again. She writes, but its not the same. It'll be great to see everyone again. I'm sure Michael and Ariana will be excited too. Have you told them yet?" John asked his wife as they sat together.

Todd had gotten into the band hall and found a decent sized locker to put all of his stuff in. When he looked at his watch, he realized he still had time to kill before class started. But he didn't really have a choice to decide what he do next, as his stomach growled. Welp, breakfast it is. Todd thought as he made his way to the cafeteria, then sighing with grief as he realized how long the lines were. Then he got in a line, waiting for his turn to be served.

Belvina was wondering where her friend Marius was, he usually sat with her at lunch. They were of the same species and as such she was immune to his siren thrall, as such they were pretty close. But Marius seemed to avoid her in places other than class settings for some reason, she wondered why and it kind of hurt her.

"Vhat's vith all ze pearls? Are you esking to get robbed?" Tündér wondered looking at Belvina, the first that she had spoken to anybody else all morning. Belvina arched an eyebrow at the witch's accent, German? No, it's slightly different, Hungarian or Austrian definitely.
Bell smiled at the girl. "I wanted to wear them today. My mom's the queen of a huge kingdom of merfolk, girl I have more pearls than I know what to do with. And I can defend myself if anybody tries to take 'em. Even if they do I have like a hundred million more strands."

Marius Miller
Marius had come to school hours earlier, and had been spending his time in the pool. Marius loved the water, and it felt natural for him to be in it. This most certainly had to do with the fact that Marius was half siren himself. Eventually he checked his water proof watch and realized what time it was. It was breakfast time already! He had told Bell he'd have breakfast with her and he was going to be late. He quickly got out of the pool and went to the locker room to change. Bell was a mermaid herself and so they were close friends, but sometimes Marius kept his distance a bit. It wasn't her fault at all, it was his. Marius had a big problem with trust and commitment and was afraid that the people he was close to might not actually care about him. Still, he was trying to deal with that and knew he shouldn't just avoid his friend because of that fear. He got dressed in a pair of jeans and a blue t-shirt before heading toward the lunch room where he finally found Bell. Sitting down next to her he gave a sheepish smile. "Sorry I'm late Bell, lost track of time in the pool."

Nico was perplexed, why would someone want to take a picture of him? Why would someone be excited to see him?

"W-why did you take a picture?" He said as he looked around the hallway to see if it was a trap.

A model? Nico never really cared about his appearance (except that he likes black), but his cheeks did turn a little red at her comment. This casued him to completely forget why he was even paranoid or upset with the girl.

"W-whose Valen?" He asked.
