I'm confused. Am I moving too fast in regards to the Timurids? Sorry, Aymendia. What would those ships be doing? I suggested they go from Morea to the Adriatic. I agree that the Byzantine state in Crimea is screwed unless they come to an agreement with the khanate.

The problem is transportation. The Ukrainitanis and Ottomans will block the way(probably) and Crimea is nearly surrounded.

The Byzantines will have to fight their way to Poland/Germany.

Now that I'm thinking about it, what kind of claim does your ruler have over the Byzantine/Roman crown and throne?

Finding wandering tribes is difficult, but not impossible. They can hide from an army, but a messenger poses little threat.

As an independent and unaligned tribe with no permanent ties anywhere except themselves, you could hide in Arabia with us.

It depends on the situation. I'd give the population estimate to be around 50,000 or so, which is practically a city-state level population. However, due to the tribal nature, most of the men of the tribe could theoretically be called to arms. Discounting women and children, it would fall between 20-30 thousand at maximum. Mind you, the troops are 99% unarmored and are mostly specialized as cavalry raiders.

It's essentially not a backbone for an army, but instead more of a buffer. Good for raiding enemies, ambushing armies, and causing chaos when allowed autonomous action. When merged with a larger army, it's a good sized cavalry unit.

I think that I'll have the older Palaiolgos Princes establish some Greek refugee states in Central Russia. Those states will be then united by John Palaiologos, who will later convince his brother, Constantine, to marry the daughter of Vasily I, the Duke of Muscovy. After the death of Vasily and John, Constantine will inherit Muscovy and the Greek state, uniting them into one country.

Would we have a religion problem? Bohemia is Catholic from what I remember, but the Palaiolgos are Orthodox.

Just no religious education...
Also, it`s not like you`re migrants or invades or whatever. You`re nobility from a faraway christian country so it should be okay. Also, the Regency can`t afford to be too picky with whom it allies.
