Gem Academy OOC
Prologue
Welcome to Diadem Crest, a small town of around 2000 people. The 'Crest,' as its residents are often heard calling it, is located in a secluded place hidden among mountains in the corner of the modern world and there exist a few amenities in the town: a pizza restaurant with a late 90's style arcade, a sheriff's office with the paint peeling from the whitewashed walls, a automobile repair shop, and a slew of other businesses and their respective employees' homes. There even exists a series of brooks and creeks that bend around the settlement and lead into a small lake that the residents often spend their weekends enjoying.
And then there shines the crown jewel of the little town of Diadem Crest: Gem Academy. The 'Gem' sits at the opposite end of the lake from the simple existence of the townspeople on the end of a cliff. Water from the lake pours through the school's lower levels and is led out through the other side, providing the power for all of the Crest and the Gem.
Gem Academy, however, is no ordinary school and the Crest is no ordinary town. The residents of Diadem Crest do not often leave for the outside world and largely exist to support the students of Gem Academy, whom are often more than meets the eye. Indeed, the Gem is a place for gifted youngsters who show an extreme aptitude towards a particular skill just like you. Perhaps you have an amazing memory or an incredible gift when it comes to acrobatics. Perhaps you have been granted a predisposition towards invention and mechanical skills or you're a musical genius, but for whatever reason you are here in Gem Academy.
And you are in detention, and unbeknownst to you that lake does not simply power the Valley and the school, but powers a machine built by a student in secret years ago that mysteriously disappeared... just- below- the detention room.
But I am getting ahead of myself. I don't even know who you are yet.

OP's Notes
This is a plot based roleplay, so I know where I am heading, with flexibility for side-quests and character development as we go along. You're all going to start the roleplay in the detention room that is poorly supervised as first-years(Essentially, freshmen). I'll allow you a couple pages to interact and then have you all go down to the lower level to find a supercomputer with a camera attached to the monitor.
Through some fault of your own, you all are sucked into the computer and momentarily explore the virutal reality in store for you! There do exist hostile encounters in this reality though, and so you'll be given a weapon and an ability based on your skills, personality, and character flaws.
As the roleplay goes on, you'll be facing teachers, suspicious students, the villagers, the computer, and trying to save the creator of the computer whom is trapped within the confines of the virtual reality.

3.)Standard P2TM rules apply. No godmodding, no killing other players without permission, etc....
4.)If you have any problems or arguments, you may discuss them over telegram. If things become too vitriolic, you can call me in to mediate.
5.)The cliche'd "Have fun!" of course.
