To be fair Brazil actually had a far larger navy than the much more powerful (than both Brazil and Acadia) United States did in like 1890, and I think had the fifth largest in the world. For that reason, your navy will probably be smaller - but not necessarily inferno - to Brazil's.

To be fair Brazil actually had a far larger navy than the much more powerful (than both Brazil and Acadia) United States did in like 1890, and I think had the fifth largest in the world. For that reason, your navy will probably be smaller - but not necessarily inferno - to Brazil's.

Brazil's navy was monstrously OP (Given Brazil's recent newly acquired status on the world stage) before Pedro got kicked.

The following Republics neglected it rather substantially for a while because the Admiralty was very Royalist. The Baron I mentioned in my history for example was also the Minister of the Navy and I believe he ceased the works he was doing on the navy itself in protests, among other things.

That's the main reason the navy ITTL is pretty up to snuff, as it were.
