Ooops, big mistake in the rules, or more like, big mistake from my part in informing everyone that moving populations into empty domains without being able to supply them with food will get them killed, and since the road networks are the only way to deliver food to another domain, some of your populations will starve to death.

However, because the rules does not specify whether movement comes before food production/consumption, I'll allow pops to consume the food they need at any part of the turn, thus allowing for the populations moved after they have "eaten" (lets say they brough some food with themselves). But even then, everyone will have to rush out a road network or get some wealth production running to feed populations in underdevelopped domains.

RESOURCES can be used the same epoch they are produced. BUILDINGS can't be used the epoch they are built in. EXCEPTIONS are defensive / strength buildings.

Antiquity

Portal to OOC

Image

I'm still working on the OP, but feel free to start posting. I'll inform everyone what stuff their starting domain has in a moment.

Additional Antiquity Rules

Length

Antiquity will last 7-14 epoch. That's 7-14 days.

Corruption

Primitive transportation and information technology makes holding together large empires extremely difficult.
No penalties for the first 2 Domains
Colonizing/conquering a 3rd domain requires you to pay 1 wealth or 2 food each epoch.
4 domains 2 wealth or 4 food
5 domains, 3 wealth or 6 food
and so on. Having more then 5 domains carries a risk of revolt. These anarchist revolts will convert your domains into neutral domains engulfed in bloody civil wars. TG op to get informed about revolt risk.

Exploration and colonization

Explore by moving units or population into an unexplored domain. You will then learn what it has. Just TG me and ask what's there.
Keep this knowledge in your civilization's ledger (or whatever it is where you keep info about your civ).
Remember that moving population 1 domain takes an entire epoch during which the population has to be fed.

After you have a population or a military unit in a domain, disarm the units (that takes an epoch) and then get them to work (produce raw labor) towards colonizing the place.
Remember, Native domains take 3 labor to colonize, non-natives take 5.
Progress isn't lost between 2 epoch.

Change of rules!
All civs can choose a 2nd nativity at any time during eon 1!

Workers of the North

For a long time the men of the north had isolated themselves from others. Keeping to there own buildings. However with w population boom they needed to get about expanding there influence. The first thing built where two farms to help keep the people fed and happy, the rest either went to go out and work the lumber or special blue stone. They needed everything they could gather for now while they sought about expanding, for now they would keep to themselves and build a strong base at home before daring to go out into the world. Soon they would go out and hunt the game once they had enough men for it. They where hard working people people who didn't trust many outsiders. This would have to change if they wanted to grow and grow they needed to. Word of people to the south was...interesting but for the moment ignored they where to far away and to many projects where being done to warrant an investigation of the south at least for now that was.

4 Population work on 2 Agriculture [6 food]
1 Population exploits Blue Stone = 1 Raw Materials
1 Population exploits Lumber = 1 Raw Material
6 out of 6 food consumed, 0 remains

Nordwürttemberg

The people of Nordwürttemberg had quite a lot of business to do since they had formed a nation. The current warlord knew that conflict with other civilizations would be inevitable. First of all he`d have to bolster up the agriculture to prevent the people from starving. He also sent men to the forests to cut down some trees and provide the nation with lumber. But what should he do with the Lumber he`d get? He quickly decided to build a manufactory to get some industry going to support his efforts towards war.

4 Population produce 6 Food on 2 Agriculture
1 Population contributes 1 Raw Labour to build a Manufactory (The 2 Less Raw Labour for the first building in the Capital Domain applies
1 Population goes into the forest to get some Lumber Raw Ressources
6-6=0
1 Wealth

Kharbarinth

The Dawn-Singers looked out upon the rising of the sun that had given their name to the people, and above the white city of Kharbarinth the pealing of the deep brass bells rose, a paean to greet the coming of a new day. From their hidden vales and small villages bells rang, answering the great Void Speakers of the Spire Eternal that could be heard throughout the land. The people of the Dawn were not prone to worry, or want, for their storied terrace gardens fed all with ease. Still, oftentimes troubles lay upon the mind of their lord, the Highprince. Elected by the count of the stones of the salaried men of the city and her environs, it was his job to guide the hands of the people as a whole to that which may profit all, instead of the good of a single man and his selfish desires. His mind looked not to the next week, or the next month, or indeed the next year- the march of generations was his purview, and the chanted history reaching back even to the Age of Legends. Though plenty was had on the table of any given Singer, his records cut upon stone and clay showed agricultural output steady, and needs mounting. Only the foresight of his ancestors had allowed the folk to grow as numerous as they were, nearly one man in two able to devote himself to other tasks than sustenance. The labor levy would have to be used in this generation, new farms and fields cut from the hills.

And a great temple to the Divine would the folk raise, to Ea the true Song. There all could worship his magnificence, and bask in the splendor of the choirs of worship. It would be well. Signing orders to that effect, the Highprince nodded as he looked out over the dawn-gilt land of his people. Some emissaries had asked his permission to explore the lands to the north and east, to look for new trade partners amongst the wild folk for the supplies of salt the White Sea produced. He had given them his permission, and looked forward to hearing of their exploits.

3 Population work in 2 Agriculture, produce 6 Food
1 Population produces 1 Raw Labor, building Agriculture on third Fertile Land
2 Population produce 2 Raw Labor, building Shrine in Kharbarinth (1 Industrial Output contributed for first building).

Skyshard

A man chooses, a slave obeys. It was a maxim that had been passed down through the League for generations, ever since the Original Nine came down from the skies and brought blood and fire with them. Even the Imperator, First of the Nine, could not order a man of the League to do anything; he had to choose for himself.

The threat of arms and other coercion would often come into it, but that was how the maxim had been interpreted. A man was free to choose as he wished, even if he had a weapon at his throat; it was still his choice to make of his own free will, there were just... Incentives added in a paticular direction.

Said direction was decided by the Nine, led by the Imperator, who was elected from eight of the nine after the previous Imperator died. He was the avatar of the Original Nine on this world, but the Original Nine did not expect to be obeyed; they expected others to follow their last command. A man chooses, a slave obeys.

The Kocha

As the sun rose, shining light onto a collection of rolling hills. As the sun slowly rose with it, the Kocha slowly arose from their dens within the hills and began to form a group around a particularly large mound. The Kocha had gathered to get the orders from their leader, a fairly young but influential Kocha named Zanauf. He told the people that he wanted the majority of them to work in the farms while the remained cared for the children or began work on a new field. The work had begun but while the men and women were in the fields they spotted something out of the ordinary. A handful of creatures who walked upright like the Bolds but the creatures didn't have as much fur on their bodies and the little fur they had was black as night. Their skin was like the bronze they had seen in the earth. Some of the workers dropped their belongings and approached the strange beings, a look of astonishment on the Kochas' faces.

Bravil forests, Isles of Drake

"And it was Saint Pavos the Risen, who many moons ago was a man of undeniable sin". Said the mentor has he led a group of 5 students all male young adults through the Bravil forests. " He knew not of what he was capable of what plans the almighty Maker had for him debauchery, gambling, his mischievous ways would be his downfall a once wealthy and powerful merchant, punished, and all who were dear to him knew him no more". "And what happened to him after that mentor?" one of the students asked. "He received a vision from the Maker to travel deep within the forests and to spread his word to our heathenish brothers their he built a small mud hut and he gathered many followers converted many of the damned to the path of righteousness , but soon a harsh winter had hit Pavos and the converts, they where giving up hope ready to lay down and die but Pavos was then ordered by the Maker to take his wood staff and plant it to the ground a wonderful miracle happened and it turned to a blooming Yulberry tree a sign of the Makers divine power this gave Pavos and the converts the hope and strength to survive that harshest of winters, and they would soon thrive has a community of the faithful. But you may wonder what happened to Pavos' mud hut after he died? It grew and expanded from mud and stick, to stone and wide arches reaching to the heavens themselves the grand Bravil Cathedral".The students looked at the ruins of the old cathedral from the days of the Imperium certainly a example of past opulence and prosperity, confused at what this meant. They asked what the meaning of this was."Pavos' and his followers worshipped in a mud hut yet he was far more pious and closer to the divine then anyone who would come later, I come to tell you my students that no matter where you are the Church is with you, and it is easier for a elephant to enter the hole of a pin then for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God,we shall build our own shrines and in simplicity worship the Maker has he is supposed to be".

Unknown Lands, Far North-East
Two Weeks Travel from Kharbarinth, 3rd Month of the First Progress

Brightlord Seleucas was kneeling to inspect a particularly vibrant flower in this wild trackless region when one of the scouts pointed towards the horizon and shouted. "Beasts!" His voice echoed into the leader's thoughts, and he straightened, grasping for his spear. Predatory pack hunters had been enough of a nuisance on their spring sojourn that the warrior was wary of them, and the other members of the exploration party took up their arms as well. Striding on long legs to join the shorter man where he pointed, Seleucas shaded his eyes with a callused hand and stared out towards the oncoming creatures. They were large, almost man-sized, and covered in a thick pelt. To his eyes they didn't appear to be carnivores, but their purposeful movement towards the party was strange. Most animals fled man instinctively.

Stepping forward, the towering bronze-skinned man beat the shaft of his spear on his thick hide shield, the booming rasp thundering out towards the creatures. His fellows did likewise, unslinging their shields and drumming, the rumbling sound loud enough to drown out the birds and insects. Such tactics had frightened away stampeding horses before, and Seleucas hoped such measures would deter these strangely brash creations of the Divine.

A short distance from the fields near the hill city

The Kocha, who had begun to advance towards the creatures out of curiosity were immediately spooked when the strange beings began to drum their shields. The Kocha ran back to their fields where they grabbed whatever farming tools they could get their hands on and cower close together hoping the threat would go away.

Schwarzwald

Joseph von Recklinghausen received the mantle of leadership from the Empress Elizabeth XXV von Ingolstadt at the age of 19, and then died at the age of 100 years. Before his death Joseph is recorded as relinquishing his seat of power to his son Franz Joseph: an event which is supposed to have eventuated in the establishment of the Recklinghausen Dynasty. After ascending to the throne, Joseph offered sacrifices to the Great Sun, as well as to the hills, rivers, and the host of spirits. Then he toured the eastern, the southern, the western, and the northern parts of the country; in each place he offered burnt-offering to Heaven at each of the hills and rivers, set in accord the seasons, months, and days, established uniform measurements of length and capacities, and reinforced ceremonial laws.

Joseph's mother died when he was very young. His father was blind and remarried soon after his mother's death. Joseph's stepmother then gave birth to his half brother Welf and a half sister. Joseph's stepmother and half brother treated him terribly, often forcing Joseph to do all the hard work in the family and only giving him the worst food and clothing. Joseph's father, being blind and elderly, was often ignorant of Joseph's good deeds and always blamed Joseph for everything. Yet, despite these conditions, he never complained and always treated his father, his stepmother, and his half brother with kindness and respect. When he was barely an adult, his stepmother threw him out of the house. He was forced to live on his own. Yet, because of his compassionate nature and his natural leadership skills, everywhere he went, people followed him, and he was able to organize the people to be kind to each other and do the best they could.

When Empress Elizabeth became old, she became distressed over the fact that his 20 sons were all useless, only knew how to spend their days enjoying themselves with wine and song. The Queen asked his administers to propose a suitable successor. She then heard of Joseph's tales. Wise Elizabeth did not want to simply believe in the tales about Joseph, so she decided to test him. She gave a province to Joseph to govern and married her two daughters to him, with a small dowry of a new house and some money.

Though given an office and money, Joseph still lived humbly. He continued to work in the fields every day. He even managed to convince his two brides, the two princesses, The Empress' daughters, named Evangeline and Stella, who were used to good living, to live humbly and work along the common people. However, Joseph's stepmother and half brother became extremely jealous and conspired to kill him. Once, Joseph's half brother Welf lit a barn on fire, and convinced Joseph to climb onto the roof to put the fire out, but then Welf took away the ladder, trapping Joseph on the burning roof. Shun skilfully made a parachute out of his hat and cloth and jumped down in safety. Another time, Welf and his mother conspired to get Joseph drunk and then throw him into a dried-up well and then bury him with rocks and dirt. Joseph's half sister, never approving of her mother and brother's schemes, told Joseph's wives about the scheme. Joseph thus prepared himself. He pretended to get drunk, and when he was thrown into the well, he had already a tunnel pre-dug to escape to the surface. Thus, Joseph survived many attempts on his life. Yet, he never blamed his stepmother or his half brother, and forgave them every time.

Eventually, Joseph's stepmother and half brother repented their past wrongs. Joseph wholeheartedly forgave them both, and even helped Welf get an office. Joseph also managed to influence the Empress to sell her twenty worthless sons as slaves so they would become useful contributing members of society.

Schwarzwald - 10 years ago (Joseph von Recklinghausen's Arc)

Joseph woke up from his mid-day slumber, waking up to the night sky. He pulled out his spear and figure eight shield and headed into the center of the village, waiting to see if anyone would show up. The only light in the sky was the moon, the light glimmering off of the clay buildings and lightposts. After waiting for an hour, it was now 8:00 PM. He rushed into a nearby store, products lying all over the ground. The lights were smashed, the check-out counter was split in two, and shelves laid out, toppled on top of one another. He grabbed some baskets of a variety of foods and some bread, also picking up a torch.

Once he was finished, he headed toward the swamp, waiting for nocturnal beasts to come out so he could feast on them. Joseph climbed into a nearby tree and readied his spear, taking aim on a nearby tapir.

Eva lay asleep in front of a shop like she was ment to be guarding the place. She was dreaming about find a nice groom with a great fortune and running away to a place of happyness, but then she woke up looking around. "Oh, I'm still at the hell hole" Thought Eva before jumping up and running inside the store. It was completly destroyed by the Rains - ''Another idiot who can't understand the mood of our fatherland'' she though. She drank some tea and then took a packet of nuts from under a basket. "Good enough, now time to go look again" thought Eva before running out and aproaching the swamp. She looked around her and saw a group of people asleep and some that were standing around with a spear protecting their house. She frowned looking at how evil people had become and moved on into the swamp.

She saw a few lost dogs that were injured protecting their families and a few tapirs that had their insides taken out, that made shiver in disgust. She finally found a little mushroom that wasn't poisonous and took before seeing a tapir looking at her. "Nice to know one of you are alive" answered Eva throwing the mushroom at it's feet. "You have it, I'm not a threat you see" answered Eva. To a normal person she sounded like she was on drugs, but to someone who believe in the sound of mother nature she sounded like a warrior or some kind of priest. She sat down seeing it nibble on the mushroom, that made her smile for a while. She noticed there was no creature there to ruin the moment.

Joseph jumped down from the tree he was in, landing on a woman. "Graceful, but almost too slender. This woman appears to be pretty and she also has a big chest. Shall I touch it? Is just an innocent act" He stopped thinking to help the woman up. "Sorry about that, I saw a figure and felt the need to investigate. Anyway, my name is Joseph. What's your name?"

Eva had a little shock when a boy landed on her and got her fists ready thinking he was a creature. "Huh, oh it's just a kid" thought Evangeline lowering her fists. "Hello Joseph, my name is Eva" she greeted while standing up and smiling at Joseph. She took a look at him and studied him for a little while. "Well, if your going to study figures, here is a word of advice, don't jump on them" explained Eva smiling at him. She patted his head and then walked over to the Tapir that she fed. "What's a kid like you doing out here by yourself, don't you have any family to go to or some food to protect or even some friends to team up with?" asked Eva bending down and patting the animal, she picked it up before it fell asleep in her arms.

Rayen, City of the Apocalypse

The city of the apocalypse... is a different place. Most travelers question the name and wonder why it is called such a usually bad word. Many travelers whisper in corners of the city and question the city's leadership for calling the city. But what they don't understand is the Apocalypse to the natives of this town.

The Apocalypse is to be short, a religious idea developed by the founders about the deaths and rebirths of the world and they believe we are not the first. One of those that knew even a little about it were a people called the Zyrasians. How they knew the founders didn't know but a fragment of their small amount of knowledge was told to the founders and the founders decided to stop and make a settlement so they would have time to study it.

Meanwhile in the farms surrounding the city a lot of the population worked to produce food for the city. Many people also were focused on the building of an official city shrine for thinkers to well think about ideas such as religion or the horses who roam outside the city.

However one of the most important things happening was a team of explorers who worked for the government of the city to explore territory and find new places for resources or possible fragments of clues of the Apocalypse. They decided to head north to region with a lack of major lakes and bodies of water to look at colonizing the region.

Town of Orange, The Dark Times(~100 years ago):
"Fuere!" Came the order from the Luxembourgian General as the Luxembourg Troops once again sieged Orange. The Fourth Siege of Orange would be the turning point in the history of Sourh Beverwijk. Inside the Castle of Orange, King William sat on the Tulip Throne, contemplating something. His advisor came to him in worry. "Sire, we are once again under siege by Luxembourgia". The Kinf sighed. "I have noticed. Now, I recognize the never ending cycle of these wars. The Flemish will help us, the Walloons and Luxembourgians will fight us, and the ever powerful Frieslander Empire waits for the perfect moment to strike. We must unite with the rest of the tribes, or be annihilated. Send a letter to each tribe, ask them to meet in Orange in two months time". The advisor gaped, but turned around and headed out. Orange would not fall that day, due to Flemish assistance. Instead, Orange would become the capital of a mighty nation.

Modern Day, City of Orange:
King William the Fourth sat on the Tulip Throne, contemplating something. His advisor walked in, with worry on his face. "My liege, I am sure you have heard the rumors of the Iron Men to our North. Some people are demanding we seek them out". King William IV sighed. "Why would we do that? We are perfectly fine on our own. We need no help, and our irrigation techniques keep our people well fed. I see no reason to instigate violence". The advisor sighed as well, with nervous lines on his face. "My liege, you fail to understand. A group of people has already left for the Iron Men's land". The King shot out of his seat. "Get my horse, and 10 of our best horsemen. We leave immediatly for Iron Men Territory".

A Message from another world.

Image

Its really the last time I change rules:
Please look at poll at time to time to find out if I break the above promise.

All civs can choose a 2nd nativity at any time during eon 1!
Roads networks can transport food to adjacent domains even if there is no road there.
Raw labor can never be transported (Wealth and thought is counted globally and can be invested anywhere anytime, Industrial output can be transported like Food, Fossil fuels or Raw materials).
This bonus: The first Structure in every domain cost 2 Less Raw Labor or 1 less Industrial Output. Now only applies to starting domains!
In other words, only starting domains can get the free raw labor or Industrial output.

The northen steppes seem overrun with dunes of sand. There isn't much water to be found, or anything else of use for that matter. Still, agriculture still seems viable in some areas.

An unusual fissure slices the steppes in half, within it lies an unusual skeletons and an abundance of a strange, yellow-ish mineral, amber.

Epoch 1:

Matriarch Penthesilea smiled, having finally united the surrounding tribes under Amazon rule. While this was certainly a grand accomplishment, this was no time for rest. There was simply too much to do in regards to making this new civilization survive. Penthesilea knew that food was the lifeblood of any civilization and it needed to be created thusly. Her royal advisor came to her this epoch and said to her "M'lady, Amazonia has a rich ecology! Right now, we can produce enough food to feed 1000 people every epoch."

Penthesilea responded "Then we must utilize that fully. Right now, I want 1 wealth spent to produce more food and 2 farmers to be sent to some of our fertile land. Obviously for that, we'll need another to build a farm." She begins counting on her fingers to see what she could do to feed her people. "We are fortunate enough to live in such a luscious rainforest, so we can get even more food from that. All of this gives just enough food to prevent people from starving and we still have 4 more people to utilize."

"Yes ma'am. I recommend we use them to build a weapons workshop and create a force of 1,000 people to scout the northwest. 1 population should be used to advance our weapons science. Some people had the idea to create a new ranged weapon, one that fires pointed sticks (archery) which I believe deserves some looking into. The last population should

Penthesilea nodded in agreement, proud to have such a competent advisor. "It is agreed. Send someone to give the people my orders. I have a feeling that we are destined for greatness with orders like these."

2 farmers produce 3 food
Ravenous rainforest produces 1 food
Specialty rich ecology produces 1 food
1 wealth is spent on 1 food
1 population produces raw labor for weapons
1 population scouts the domain northwest of Amazonia
1 population thinks to produce 0.5 knowledge towards archery
1 person establishes agriculture for the farmers to work
