So I am pursuing the Second US Civil War idea, I'm going to call the RP 2018:A House Divided. It's going to be set in a world where after the 2016 presidential election Hillary wins by a slight margin. Trump refuses to recognize the results and sue Hillary, taking the case all the way to the Supreme Court. He claims that Hillary rigged the election and urges his supporters to not recognize the results. Here is a timeline of the events so far:

Nov. 9: Trump denounces election results, calls them “questionable,” vows to “take this to the Supreme Court and beyond.”
Nov. 12: Pennsylvania and Virginia decline to entertain Trump suits contesting narrow Clinton victories.
Nov. 13:Trump calls election results “illegitimate.”
Nov. 18: Governors of Arizona and Texas question election results.
Nov. 20: Louisiana, Georgia, and Mississippi say they want to review election numbers.
Nov. 22: North Carolina begins throwing out votes from majority black counties.
Dec. 8: Trump announces plans for a “Two-million-person march on Washington” to coincide with the planned inauguration.
Dec. 14: Several Idaho counties say they “cannot legally recognize the authority of so-called President-elect Clinton.” By inauguration day, the majority of rural counties (but not population) in 13 states have issued similar statements.
Dec. Jan 20: President Clinton’s inaugural address is drowned out by the revving of thousands of motorcycles around the Capitol. The black-clad riders call themselves the “American Restoration Militia,” or ARM.
Jan. 22: The federal courthouse in Dallas is bombed.

Jan. 27: Some 40 percent of the Kansas National Guard soldiers decline to mobilize. Trump applauds them, and encourages ARM militias “to follow these heroes.”
Jan. 28: The Army removes the commanding general of the Kansas National Guard when he says “as a matter of conscience I cannot compel soldiers to violate their own consciences.” The brigadier general then crosses picket lines and joins the “Occupy Hillary” protestors in the Wichita federal courthouse.

Feb. 1: A federal judge’s car is bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.
Feb. 4: South Carolina announces a state convention to consider “our future relationship with the federal government.”

From that date onward you have complete freedom to dictate what does and doesn't happen. The RP will begin on January First, 2018. This will be a nation RP, try to make your nations logical and plausible. I will not accept large sprawling nations, only small fragmented states. I will make and post an application soon. Let me know if anyone is interested. I may put off this RP for awhile as there are already some others in the works and I'm really pumped for that 1885 AH RP.

Yes you could play the Feds but by this point they have lost most of their control. Remember the RP is set to begin in 2018, almost a year after the end of that timeline I posted, by this pint the nation should be in full scale chaos and anarchy.

You can RP as Deserer, but keep in mind that I will not allow all of Utah and Idaho to become one state, especially considering the Northern half of Idaho isn't Mormon, you can have all of Utah plus some neighboring counties in Wyoming and Southern Utah.

Color me interested. Id probably be some militia group of paranoid Appalacian hillbillies that grows in numbers as the Federal govt. struggles to keep things together, assuming it's possible, probably mid-late stage if I ain't a guerrlia force fighting Feds in the mountains still I might form a sperate nation.

Done, keep in mind that the Feds will actually not be that powerful and that I plan on playing as Ohio.

Also, though I will keep reservations and such in mind, I may delay this RP as there are several others already in the works, some I am admittedly involved in. If there is enough support for the RP though, I may just launch it in the next several days anyway.

I do like the UN idea. Though I'm curious as to which nations would comprise the task force through the UN.

Mostly because the nations contributing soldiers to the UN tend to be poor African or South Asian states, financed by the US and Europe.

I was actually planning on adding this into the RP. The UN force will probably be stationed out of Canada and made up of mostly Europeans plus probably some Asians and Latin Americans. Due to the collapse of the US the world has entered an economic depression. This has most affected Latin America and Asia, primarily China. Africa is also pretty chaotic as well. There may be an intervention by Russia into Alaska too, idk.

Europe's economy relies on US trade far less than the three nations you just listed. Both Canada and Mexico would be experiencing a massive refugee crisis while China's economy would have crashed due to them losing their largest trade partner. I may allow non-RL political figures or I may just say that Hillary was assassinated and someone like Kaine is now running the vestigial government.

Therefore it would be strongly in Chinese, Mexican, and Canadian interests to intervene to stabilize the situation. The EU and the US are each other's leading trade partners by volume and every day trade goods and services worth $2.7 billion, which comes to nearly a trillion dollars a year. In 2015 the US and China exchanged about $598 billion in bilateral trade.
Europe's economy is very strongly tied to US trade, though not as much as Mexico or Canada. China, if anything, might be slightly better off than Europe, though still in trouble, but pretty much everywhere would be looking at a major recession.

I'd also very strongly oppose using RL political figures, especially in an election year IRL.

Okay so a few things non-EU related bc a simple google search can fix that for you.

1. I personally think using Trump and Clinton is a mistake, unless you want the OOC to be a bloodbath of political arguments that just invite the Mods to intervene every other second.
2. I really question some of the state governments you mention. Notably Louisiana, which has a Democrat as governor. I'm not quite sure why a Democrat would allow any of that to happen in his state: see Pennsylvania and Virginia, both of which have Democratic governors.
3. I also don't really see that many Republicans in state governments getting angsty over Trump losing. Most of them reluctantly back him and would rather beat Hillary in 2020 with a party candidate rather than the Spreglord.
4. imo the Second US Civil War would just be the Irish Troubles with 350 million people and a lot more guns. Likewise, the US military and hell US police departments these days could crush any of these militias given how well armed the government forces are.
5. Hillary Clinton spent the past like 30 years making sure she wasn't outplayed, why does she suddenly become inept and let Trump, who I really doubt is intelligent to do any of this, outplay her?

That's my two cents on the matter.
