Especially since the Mongols unified the EASTERN Europeans, who were a fair deal more fracticious than the Westerners.

Except this isn't true like at all.

They're Ulster-Scots, not Irish. They speak a separate language (English and Scots), practice a different religion (Presbyterian), and originate from the Scottish Lowlands. They also have a different culture, bringing over some Lowland traditions and such. They haven't assimilated, and the Brits didn't force them to stay Scottish.

Also, considering the fact that Ireland was Anglicized and is still very Anglicized and is largely considered part of the Anglosphere I would say the English did a fairly good job at forcing Ireland assimilate to a various degree.

I am not downplaying Blue Waters. But it was a battle in a war where the Mongols was on the defensive. The most decisive Mongol victory imaginable would not have presented a threat to the rest of Europe.

As for less obvious effects I don't think Blue Waters mattered that much to be honest. The Golden Horde was in decline before Blue Waters and it was in decline after. The Golden Horde would have likely fallen anyway.

But it was a great victory and Lithuania conquered Kiev, that is not a small feat and it doesn't need to be overly aggrandized to some sort of Vienna of the east in order to be impressive.
