My leader Alexander hates Monacrhies. The Senate is always trying to offer Alexander the position of Emperor and everytime he rejects it.

I won't be sending armies to support the newly founded Republic. Maybe two brigades of radicals to help light the flame of Republicanism.

Your leader is also pretty much a dictator, right?
The senate is just a show.

Actually the Senate has a lot of power since there's two separate branches of power. Also not much of a dictator in the sense of absolute power considering he has to run for re election like every other Senator and shares power with the Republic.

Alexander enjoys popularity with the people and his political faction is strong in the Senate but its not invincible. So the Senate is more than a show and is actually a force to be reckon with inside the Republic.

I've already written a TG to the Co-ops about this, and now its time for me to say this officially in the RP. First off, unless they do not want the position I am promoting Halleon to Co-op to hopefully bring the total up to four. Yes four, not five, I am stepping down as Co-op and leaving this thread in the able hands of Pimps Inc, Evenia and Lenciland. Now I am also leaving this RP, however before I go I want my affairs to be in order. Firstly, if one of Pimps Inc, Halleon, Evenia, Lenciland or Eastern Antarctic State wants ANY or ALL of my land then they are welcome to it, that means no premature invasions of any part of the Anglo-Kalmar Alliance until all 5 of the above nations have taken their piece (if they want it). Next, Manticoran, assume that the army of mine in the America's is defeated but retreats in a semi-orderly fashion with the majority of the ships of the line that came over to America with them, those ships along with the HMS Armada can be subsumed by Pimps Inc if he wants them, but amongst the materials left behind there is a Puckle Gun, allowing you access to it if you so wish, unless whoever takes over my nation wishes to keep that army alongside those ships in which case let them. Everything else that is not claimed of the Anglo-Kalmar Alliance is to become white space, the forces dispersed, all agreements or treaties null and void.

Now onto why I am leaving. This RP started off as a little something to get me back into RPing after several months out during which I concentrated on my studies. Originally I didn't want to be Co-op, but situations forced me to take the lead or let the RP die an early death. I've been managing the RP now since the first page, and it has started to take up more and more of my time. It has now got to a point where it is taking me several hours every day to keep this RP in line whilst dealing with the seemingly constant rate of arguments, disagreements and potential breaking of the rules of the RP, to the point where managing this has no longer become something I want to do, where every time I look at NS I get more of a feeling of dread than one of excitement, where I wish I could just block my TG's for a while so that I can get some solitude to work on RP's I'd rather be in. And it's just become too much for me to handle. I am taking a break from Alternate History RP's for a while, (so no, I won't be making an appearance in your RP Era), I need one really after this.

So yeah, to most of you, it has been a pleasure and I wish to RP again with you soon, to everyone else, goodbye for now.

The events of this RP will still be canon, but we will just be doing a time skip. Now, we need an official map-maker as well. If anyone has the capabilities and desire to do so I would really appreciate it. I have sought out and received Acro's permission to do this. Any help would be much appreciated in this process.

If a timeskip is in order, let us at least advance 30 years. That will allow smaller nations, such as my United States, to get their affairs in order and allow new technologies to arise which will make the overall RP, I hope, a little smoother rather than us having long, drawn out arguments over what is possible.

We use the Brown Bess, Model 1815(Springfield), and riflemen/elite units use the Ferguson rifle.

Smoothbore cannons. Don't expect to hit much with those, even if they do have longer range, they are less accurate.

effective range (maximum effective range) of a weapon is the furthest distance an effective shot can be taken with reasonable certainty that it will hit. It is determined by a number of factors: type of cartridge fired, inherent precision of the weapon, and volume of fire delivered.
The 12 pdr Gribeuval has than 900m EFR. My guns are at 800m from the city. Ever hear , "Couldn't hit the side of a barn"? Well these guns can.

It's actually not. That was adobted in the latter quarter of the 1800's. It's more of sun with the rays coming off of it or just a regional flag. But strong bi-lateral relations with the Japanese make your rude unlikely to work.

Indeed, it does take a lot of time for news to reach Oceania. And besides why would a group of fleeing merchant ships stop for at least a day to paint themselves black and why would they not announce themselves with this signal before approaching the fleet. Something smells fishy. And Regina George isn't here.
Also, it wasn't adopted as the national flag until the latter part of the 1800's look it up if you don't believe me. It was a flag used, but it wasn't used a lot. The history of Japanese flags is confusing.

You don't know how long it could have taken them to paint themselves, and maybe from far off the merchants did not know if the ships were Mexican and feared being caught, but as they got closer saw the ensigns and colors of the Commonwealth.

It wasn't adopted until later but ships trading with American and Russians hoisted it to distinguish themselves.

Perhaps. But there are an awful lot of small ships in that floatilla that aren't fit for Trans-Pacific voyage. Indeed I don't, but it doesn't make sense for a group of fleeing merchant men to stop and paint their hulls black. A tactic that would only work at night. Indeed, perhaps.
