Should I infiltrate a nation, steal their plans? Should I topple a kingdom in Europe, and take control?

Right. So you have a bunch of rakes who just happen to be able to blend into ANY nation at the drop of a hat and topple governments of metagame militaries? Right. Even the biggest world power can't do that.

I would like to test out this Universal Nation Ranking System (UNRS), and develop it over time to become more specific, have more rankings, and take a wide variety of things into account. I am looking for some input in it, and am hoping to develop it to the point that I can use it in my Empires RP's to determine where City States stand in the roleplays that I will be hosting. For now, however, World of Conquest is free to use this system.

Do you have any recommendations for criteria? I would like to have a list of criteria for each, if that'd be okay ^_^

World Powers: World Powers are those that are capable of affecting a wide range of territories across the globe. They have the capacity to deploy troops in other empires, topple the economic reign of smaller nations, and utterly decimate their political opponents. They have a great amount of influence, and will often be aligned with a vast majority of different states and nations. Certain world powers are noted for their high efficiency, as there have been world spanning empires with only 120 thousand troops in total. World Powers are highly intelligent in their actions.

Regional Powers: Regional Powers are nations that can influence the region in which they are active by a great amount, and may have more power over their region than even World Powers. One notable example of this is the Empire of Japan/Asia, which controls a vast expanse of Asian territories underneath their powerful regime. Regional Powers may not have the capacity to influence other nations and regions on the level of World Powers, but they are more focused in their capacity to achieve their goals. The amount of territory that a regional power has, their economy, and they military force all have to be taken into account when determining what a Regional Power is.

Standard Powers: A Standard Power is just that. It is a nation that has the Power to influence itself, and can slightly influence the territories around it, but not by much. These make up the vast majority of nations in the world, and much like Regional Powers their place on the planet can’t be underestimated. A Standard Power is, generally, average in military might, their capacity to influence the politics of others, and their economy, but some nations may have a stronger military, political capacity, or economy than another Standard Power. Much variety in strengths and weaknesses can be found in Standard Powers, and this is the ranking at which the most differences can be found.

Minor Powers: Minor Powers are nations that are developing, have just been founded, or have not seen the need to expand themselves further than the amount of territory that they control. While they have allies, yes, minor nations don’t have much political might, and may not have a very strong military, and sometimes will have a lackluster economy. Certain Minor Powers, however, may have less poverty and a higher GDP than a World Power does due to the fact that their advantageous in their small, easily manageable size. Size is always a factor, and Minor Powers have their place in the world. It has been noted that a special few nations in this rank are just Regional Powers waiting to show their true might until the perfect moment. Embrace yourself, because you are a Minor Nation, but you will grow.

I want to start keeping track of all the nations & their developments for this list. I may also make a Political Influence map ^_^

I don't think we need a Political Influence map, it'll just make things more confusing. As for the UNRS wait, you didn't post about it too long ago, I'm still working out if it's relevant enough to have. How is Mexico a World Power for example (no offence Pimps) but it doesn't have the ability to be a World Power, it is certainly the strongest power in the America's at the moment, but World powers at the moment are the Commonwealth, the Alliance, you, Sicily and probably France.

Also, nice one advertising your RP in this thread, it's nice to ask permission first though normally.

The only nations I can reliably infiltrate are nations in Europe, and some Indian kingdoms & surrounding territories. Guess what, mate? I CAN infiltrate an enemy nation, and assassinate their leader to topple the regime & destabilize the entire kingdom. It's not all that much different from launching a fully fledged assault.

Does anyone have any criteria ideas for World Nations? The only ones I have are that they should be capable of defending their own nation, and that they be active on 2 or more continents, but there are no specifics

Guess what? Even with modern technology that's a hard thing to do, so don't get too up tight and defensive about something that, let's face it, could be impossible if your spy is not given enough information about the country their infiltrating, and its not like today where you can find most of said information on the internet. Manticoran is right, it would be so easy to metagame with that kind of advantage, and I feel like I should limit the list of places you could reliably infiltrate and succeed in such plans to NPC nations ONLY. Even then I will be keeping a tight eye on you and how you use this, so play it carefully and fairly and you can keep it, don't and I may be forced to take it away from you.

A world power, by my definition, would be a nation of sufficient military, economic, and political clout to influence multiple continents. A regional power should have enough military, economic, and political clout to influence surrounding nations. A standard nation should have enough military, economic, and political clout to ward off the influences of the regional and world powers while also influencing the minor powers. Minor powers should have enough military, economic, and political clout to prevent invasion but not enough to ward off external influences.

The coup itself lasted for the better part of a week, beginning when Senatorial Guards seized the ruling elite of the Empire at the Citadel of Payne.  Important leaders of the Imperium regime were also arrested and imprisoned, pending trials for treason.  King Jordan was executed as he rode to the Citadel a few days later.  With no time to get a message out to potential loyalists, the old regime died quietly, allowing James Madison and the Son's of Liberty to assume control from Philadelphia and begin crafting new policies, including an end to the war with Mexico.  (Think Operation Valkyrie if it had worked).
Basic Summary of Current Situation: Seeking peace with Mexico and her allies, seeking to consolidate power internally and ward off potential snatch and grabs, also seeking to improve the industrial capacity of the North and South.
Basic Plans for RP: To become a world power, at the very least, with as little bloodshed as possible.
