I think one of the issues is that it takes so long for things to get done and there is so little room for science to advance.

A bunch of muskets can't stand against enough cannons to level a town. Or starve it into submission.

That division would not affect local militia. They do not fight conventionally. They fight asymmetric warfare. Ambushes, sabotage, use of rifles to kill enemy officers, placing caltrops on roads to injure enemy horses and troops. Can't move your cannon if the horses have 6 in spikes in their feet.

You both have a point, although it's now moot seeing as (so long as he wants it) Manticoran has the entire Imperium and its proper armies.

@Era, a) you don't control Berlin, so please change that. b) Sorry about forgetting about the Alliance fleet, but it isn't a blockade, more a small patrol 'escorting' your ships c) you keep adding soldiers to the battle with little regard for the passage of time d) you do not control all of Sri Lanka, you control part of it e) Cape Verde is under Sicilian Control so well done for starting a war with them, me and Mexico through the Tripartite Pact, you do control Madeira, Azores is unclaimed and unmentioned in all your posts as is Bermuda. f) Fairly certain doubling your Indian Territory in one post does not fall under 'reasonable expansion'. One state or Kingdom at a time, not several. g) Please stop putting OOC bits into your IC posts, or at least separate them out and put them under a spoiler saying OOC or something like that. h) you are aware Spain isn't an independent nation at the moment i) you mention 'prisoners in Africa' being made into slaves, yet you haven't been expanding in Africa recently so where did they come from? j) I hope you're not expecting to have to create too many of your top form of specie, you don't have much access to platinum. and k) don't expect an increase in your recruiting age range to increase your military by too much, average life expectancy in the 1800's was around 35-40

And the top form of specie is more of a "limited edition". It's only going to be minted for a year to avoid too much of that currency being active.

And, uhm, I swore I controlled Berlin because of the map edits? :/ If not, what were those map edits that expanded into German territory putting me in control of?

And yes, I'm aware Spain isn't an independent nation at the moment. I meant we're trading in the area that Spain is.

Berlin still stands. e) OK f) No Cape Verde is under Sicilian control, it's not your colour its a light Green not a Teal, thus it is Sicilian and under Acroticus' control. In his absence I'll take command of my former nation if need be. But I know what MY map says, and it does not say it is yours. I don't need to care about high quality maps when I'm looking at the original one. Don't try me on the map front, I'm the map maker, I know exactly who is where. so g) Yeah, there be war if you continue to push those claims.

Alright. I'm going to focus on ending this war in North America and consolidating the power of the new Republic. With any luck, a few pages from now, I will have a first rate or two in construction (thanks in large part to the large reserves of timber and exceptional shipyards in New England). Until then, I will work on ending this war.

And it's not "great" amounts of expansion. If you're talking about expansion land-wise, anyways. If it were great amounts of expansion I'd be sending ships to both of the Americas, expanding in more than just Brandenburg in Europe (ex. ALL of Germany), and conquering India instead of going through idiotic negotiations with the stupid Indian king... the King, IC'ly, is a jerk. I might just have negotiations with the smaller Indian kingdoms/Indian regions fall through and a way occur XD. Each region, as of now, is a different kingdom.

In my mind, if an RP'er comes to claim India... THEN, well, the Indian kingdoms ally themselves under one flag.

We also export the majority of furs in Europe... plus, Africa is a literal gold mind. Ugh, I love Africa. I don't want to expand in Africa, though. I'm comfortable with the amount of land I have there. ^_^ Asia is a bit iffy, and I don't have a very good stronghold there, so getting Indian kingdoms to join the Federation is a great way of doing that.

Just redo a quick app with the new government changes in, just so we can all stay on top. I'll also recolour the rest of the Imperium for you. Just remember that ships take a few years to build, ok? I'll also be getting a post up on things in America soon, with the new regime in place I'll probably pull back and give you some compensation (like those Puckle Guns you were talking about earlier) or something like that, maybe try and set up a small Anglo-Kalmar Alliance settlement/port somewhere nearby. But that's a few posts away yet.

I know, I was just letting you know what would happen if you decided to move those OOC claims to the IC. I was looking forward to taking the reigns of Sicily again, it's been a while (look at the original Kingdoms and Colonies RPs to see what I mean)

In this AH, Africa actually has very advanced infrastructure. Africa was the beginning of Polish-Lithuania's mandate for equality & advancement everywhere. It's basically a continent where experimenting is greatly appreciated. To do this, however, laws are VERY, VERY strict. I mean VERY strict. The smallest thing will land you in jail. It's why no one wants to commit crime there (well, not "no one", just the "civilized" people), and when they do they are placed into jail for an extended period of time.
