Mantacore, btw, after the war, I plan on annexing parts of Wisconsin and Michigan. I'll have to time it to be after the Imperuim loses the war, but before it splits up. I assume there would be a short period between those two events where I could do that without pissing someone off, right?

Good luck with that. In the inevitable chaos immediately following the split, you can get away with it but eventually, under pressure from Displaced Persons from Michigan and Wisconsin, I would be forced to march over and take them back.

If you want spoils of war, you're going to have to work for them.

I thought the USA was forming fro the Imperium government failing... and instead of a civil war. The Imperium lets the northern states break away without fighting if they join the war as well.. I thought that was the agreement? Two different governments~Same objective.

There wouldn't be many displaced citizens, I'm simply annexing them, not running them out. I also don't plan on taking much of either of the states. Maybe 1/4 of Michigan and parts of Wisconsin on the coast of Lake Superior

Yeah. That is how it is working. However, the North will have to put their ducks in a row, raise and train a professional army from only 12,000, increase naval power, and then march on the enemies of the Imperium and the USA. (Secret agenda of the USA: Conquest)

To get to Michigan you have to go through Wisconsin or Illinois. Militia will not let you have it peacefully. Expect Lexington and Concord type battles in multiple locations against armed citizens who don't like being messed with.

Army movements in Canada at this point of year would be tricky.
Armies move/assemble in the spring, especially in cold areas like Quebec.

Government troops are pretty occupied.

Not all of them. There are several forts in the Northern states, each with a garrison of Federal troops. Those troops could then train volunteers and conscripts by the 100s and form a new army over the winter months. In spring, they will march for Michigan and Wisconsin, continuing their training as they march. By the summer, they will be in a position to either threaten supply lines (wagons can only move along paths or roads, which are not very common) or force a battle. Though, in all likelihood, it will be mainly infantry since cavalry requires horse and artillery is expensive.

Actually, I said it backwards. I was planning on getting 1/4is of northwestern Wisconsin and parts of Michigan that are on Lake Superior via naval transport.

I'll take the land after the Imperuim falls, I'm not opening another front before the war is over because 1) I don't have a real army to do so, and 2) The Imperuim's fall is imminent. If you have a problem with me capitalizing on the chaos by taking lands you would never get to before the Imperuim got its ducks in line, I could always recede my trade offer and secretly help the Imperuim.
