World of Conquest

The year is 1815 AD and the world is a very different place. Massive Empires have been created, with huge armies that are capable of war on a scale greater than ever before in the history of mankind. The beginnings of industrialization are taking root in the modern world, and monstrous machines have the capability to break the economic barriers of the past. Fleets travel the world, many towards the New World to make further discoveries. Massive amounts of cheap land, the promise of work, and tales of adventure have caused many to travel overseas to this new world. Similarly, the continent of Africa has peaked many interests, as its valuable resources and the excitement of travel bring people from all nations to bear.

Just as these lands draw in people, nations are drawn towards these areas as well. Many nations have created colonies to enhance their position, and increase their power. This is not an easy process however; the natives have to be subdued, and even after that, other industrial nations have to be fended off. This colonization has the potential to cause something the world has never seen before; a war on a global scale. Your enemies are afoot, watching your moves, trying to take your land: welcome to the World of Conquest!

4) If you are inactive for more than three days without telling either myself of the Co-OP, you will be kicked.
5) This one is very important: take your time with expansion. Do not expect to capture all of Canada in a week...it won't happen.

App basically done, just need to expand the Basic History so it reads more like a paragraph rather than a condensed list.

Nation Name: The Anglo-Kalmar Alliance
Nation Claims: All the dark blue on the map, More formally: Great Britain and Ireland (including Channel Islands, Isle of Man, etc.), Normandy, Brittany, West Andalusia (Including the cities of Malaga and Cordoba at the south-eastern and north-eastern extent of my lands respectively), Beja and Faro in modern day Potugal, Gibraltar, Denmark, Northern tip of Germany (Southern border running along the line between Lubeck and mouth of the river Elbe), Sweden, Norway, Finland, Murmansk Oblast and Republic of Karelia in modern day Russia, Iceland and Greenland.
Capital City: Two, London and Stockholm
Nation Leader(s): King James V of Great Britain and France, and King Gustavus IV of the 2nd Kalmar Union
Nation Leader Description (History and physically): King James V, is known for many things, fighting unfortunately is not one of them. A patron of the arts, he wishes to bring the alliance to the same cultural level as the rest of Europe. Whilst he rose to the throne at a young age of 15, due to his father dying from a fall off his horse, before being subsequently trampled by said horse (James IV and animals never got along) In his 12 year reign James V has grown into his position well. He is currently married to Edwina, daughter of the Duke of Anglo-Iberia. The two get along well enough, although rumours are abound as to the type of art the Queen currently stands as a patron of. James V, as a young man is in good shape, something he attributes to his favorite pastime, sculpting. He has short brown hair, for while some poorer men may let their hair grow long that is not the way of royalty.
King Gustavus IV is in a lot of ways the opposite of his second cousin and fellow King, but he too enjoys the arts, apparently being a prodigy on the piano, although whether this is true or not is not well know, for a King should be dancing at the ball not playing at it. Some say he takes his looks from his ancestor, Gustavus Adolphus, and that is indeed not the only thing he takes from the founder of his half of the alliance. King Gustavus enjoys he sights of war and fighting in ways that King James does not understand, not that the second cousins need to see eye to eye on those things. It is still rumoured that King Gustavus has taken to the field a few times as a King, even participating in training exercises with the rank and file soldier.
Previous Nation Leader and Description (If recently changed): Not recently changed (although may change during the RP)
Form of Rule: Dual Kingdoms, A King (or Queen) for each half of the alliance, ruling over their own states. Rulers meet regularly (at least through emissaries) to discuss matters and decide upon things such as military maneuvers and colonial expansion. The actual military is ruled by a Grand General (for the land forces) and a Grand Admiral (for the naval forces) due to the stereotypes withing the Alliance, it is not at all rare to see these positions held by a Kalmar and a British-man respectively.
Population: 40 million
Military Population (no more than 5% in times of peace): around 1 million, Merchant ships well armed and sailors given basic combat training so numbers can be boosted quickly.
Basic History of Nation: England held on to more of its territories in France during the end of Hundreds year war, House of Tudor married into Swedish House of Vasa creating a bond between the two nations. Two keep their strong bond through the years, Englands naval might complimenting the strong land forces of Sweden to allow the Swedish to conquer Denmark-Norway creating the 2nd Kalmar Union, with Sweden in control this time. Sweden helped England maintain control of French Territories and claim more land in Iberia to support their fledgling colony/fortress of Gibraltar. With no Denmark-Norway to contest their borders and strong English support, Sweden beat back Russian advances in the Great Northern War and claim some Russian territory for their own, although they lose territories in the Baltic in exchange. Alliance Officially formed in 1750's between the House of Stuart and House of Palatinate. Having had trouble in keeping its own borders the Alliance has yet to colonize, instead getting new resources etc. via trading with nations that do have colonies.
Basic Summery of Current Situation: Fairly stable, wanting to broker new trade agreements with other nations, looking at possible colonization attempts. Looking forward scientifically. Trying to modernize military, not too far behind on sea, but on land using older weapons.
Basic Plans for RP: Dunno, maybe colonize, depends on others.

Nation Leader Description (History and physically):Born in 1785 in New Zealand, Stephen Jennigs was set to live a charmed life. While his first few years were spent at home, at the age of eight he was sent to the best boarding school in Europe. There he was educated in the Classical disciplines. In university, he studied law to become a judge in his homeland. His parents, wealthy mining tycoons, left him with a vast fortune after their untimely deaths in 1810. Suddenly with a great amount of wealth, Jennings was presented with an opportunity. The government of the Commonwealth was forced to become democratic forcing the aristocratic class out of power. With this vacuum, he could rush in to fill that hole and become the most powerful man in the Commonwealth. After politicking for over a year, extolling his plans for democracy and spending a not inconsiderable amount of money, the people elected him in their first democratic elections.

Basic History of Nation:The Oceanian Commonwealth was originally a collection of colonial realms of a European kingdom that collapsed under its own very large weight. The colonies, suddenly without a central leader, banded together forming the Commonwealth of Oceanian States, commonly called the Oceanian Comonwealth. After, a brief period of instability, the aristocratic Rainier Von Hebbentrotz placed himself in power with the support of a cabal of aristocrats. Focusing little on the values of the people, Rainier set about rapidly trying to industrialize the Commonwealth. He forced people from their pastoral and agricultural homelands into cramped cities and made them work in unsafe factories, while these rural poor became urban poor, King Rainier and his aristocratic friends got even richer.
Finally, the people had enough, after Rainier set a law in place demanding that all citizens bow to him as he passed. They rose up in mass protests, the very cities that Rainier forced the people into became his downfall. His palace, located in the center of Sydney, was overrun by a mob of angry glaziers and he was killed after he threw himself from the balcony. Again there was a power vacuum only this time an industrialist, a relatively popular one, took power, promising democracy and a better, safer life in the city. His first act was to pass a sweeping reforms bill creating a democracy and setting many protections in place for the people.
Basic Summary of Current Situation:The Oceanian Commonwealth is currently in the process of expanding its Asian holdings as well as its Chilean holdings. It has an industrializing economy with an urbanizing population making it typical of nations in the time period.
Basic Plans for RP: Exapnd the Commonwealth's holdings, industrialize, make allies on the world stage, and control the trade of the Southern Hemisphere.

High Primo Jordan Payne, Second of His Name, Defender of the Imperium, Guardian of the Faith, Commander of the Just

High Primo Jordan Payne the II is 15 years-old. And he is the man incharge of the entire American Empire. From coast to coast. He reigns supreme. And unchallenged. His sister, Andrea Payne, Commander of the Imperium Military keeps her younger brother on the throne of the Imperium with an iron fist. He is a just boy though compared to his sister. He is often never in the capital city, unlike most of the members of his government. He is seen riding the country-side on horseback visiting the towns around the capital. Kentucky has become the heart of the nation. As only the wealthy, powerful, and most of all, the Payne family, can live inside Kentucky. And the poor who work the city. But he cares for the poor and often donates from his own bank account to the poor to buy food and clothes that are in desperate shortages in the capital.

J.P he is nicknamed by the common-folk outside of Kentucky. The Just Prince. He is beloved by the nation. Unlike his father and grandfather before him. Both died hated more than the last. But J.P brought order and stability with his rise to the Primoship. The Senatorial Council voted to bring the young boy to the Primoship when the nation fell into Civil Chaos, now known as the Great Schism, when J.Ps Uncle, Michael Payne, rose up in rebellion against his dead brothers postition. J.P, only thirteen years old ordered up the Capital Guard, the Gold Guard, and marched out to meet his Uncle in open battle. Horse, men, canons clashed that day outside the capital city. From the capital tower, the people of the capital watched for days and nights as the night sky was lit up by guns. And on the 8th day of battle. From the battlefield marched the Gold Guard with J.P leading in his own tank. The Gold Guard shouted with pride their commanders name. Marshal Andrea arrived 2 weeks late. Her army exhausted and found the battle had been fought. And Jordan had defeated his Uncle. So J.P is young, but a student of war. And a studen of history. He knows the Imperium is hurting. And he wants to put the Crown of America back on Lady Liberts head.

Jordan Payne the first was dispised by the entire nation. When he died, the country erupted in chear and celebration. Native Americans had been pressed from their lands and forced to work in the nations mines. But under his policies, the ports flowed with trade. Ships fought for a place to dock. And the cities are overflowing with people as they all fight for jobs. New York and Boston have become hubs for industry. And Baltimore is a mjaor port bringing in all kinds of goods from North and South. The Senatorial Council had been called to answer the regional divide between North and South. The Council demanded the Primoship end its regicide over the Imperium. So the Gold Guard marched into the Senate Council Building and arrested the Senators. Then the army across the Imperium marched across and ended the state governments. When the nation began to rise up in rebellion. The ports closed and Imperium warships stopped all trade. So the merchants abandoned rebellion or faced being ruined. And then the farmers quit when the soldiers were given free reign to eat the farmers crops. The Imperium surrendored to his will. And so his reign was met with great challenge and angry submission to him.

The Thirteen Original Colonies had lost the Battle of Saratoga and the Revolution had all but finally died. So France had not came to join the battle. But a Duke, Duke Gregory Payne, Duke of Normandy in France had saw that the U.S was now ripe for the taking. So abandoning France with all his wealth, people, and forming a army and a navy. He abandoned France to her fate and set sail with 100,000 people to Philadelphia.

After a long voyage and losing 1,000 of his people. He landed at Philadelphia only to find the British had seized the American Capital. And the American Congress had abandoned the city for Baltimore. So under the flag of Normandy, the Duke landed his men on the south end of the city. His infantry had formed up into three lines with cavalry supporting their flanks. Another host of cavalry on the rear to fill qny gaps and rush any brakes in the line. Behind them, resting on the Freedom Heights, canons had been hauled up the hill and the postition fortitifed. Duke Gregory demanded the utter-surrendor of Philadelphia and the entire British Regiment under General Arnold. Benedict Arnold, feeling this force would be easy to break. Thinking it was only an American force that had snuck out to give battle. He ordered his men into assembly. and marched off to face them. So on Freedom Heights, Duke Gregory, under the flag of Normandy and America, met the British army for the city. Arnolds men proved brave and tough. But these men were fresh from fighting off Frances enemies in Prussia. So these men were veterans. And from the bay came the support of the Normandy fleet which had forced the British fleet to abandone the city or be bottled up on rocks. So the British army was completly broken and sent fleeing into the city. Arnold, thinking another force had arrived in the North, which was actually just the landing of the remainder of the Normans, surrendored the city and fled. So Philadelphia fell to the Normans who spoke little English and amrched into the city. Citizens asked who they were, and the Duke responded, we are Americans. So they were accepted and cheered as they raised the American flag over the Congress building again. And Congress was invited back to the city. And on return, they found a veteran army who had beaten the British waiting them. Gregory welcomed them home. And offered his services to the COngress. They made him Protector of the City and made him a General. He quickly left the city with his Normandy army and marched to Boston to end the British reign there. Again the British fell. Washington had lost again at Trenton, and then his seperate force had been crushed at Princeton. Payne, on the otherhand, was seeing nothing but victory. And when Cornwallis marched North to meet Washington, he found another army waiting for him. Paynes. And with the support of Washington, Gates, and Green, the British army 3was broken and completly humilated. The remaining British force were chased out by Payne. And so the Revolution was thought won.

On the eve of victory. Philadelphia was filled with every commander and politican of Congress and so when Indepedence Hall went up in flames. Duke Gregory, was elected President of the United States. And he quickly removed the other remaining leaders and silenced the few left. And on his order, his veteran army of Normans marched out and broke the three remaining armies around Philadelphia. Green was killed leading his men. Gates commited suicide. And Washington had died in the city. So the three armies were crushed with ease. And the states of the Americas were shocked to hear that their nation was now in chaos again. And the states gave all emergency powers to Greogry to restore order. As he had made the deaths look like Britain had struck again. And on his last battle, he broke General Clinton and ended the british in the colonies. And on his victory, he proclaimed the United States was to weak to remain a republic. And he made himself King of the American Imperium. Another smaller revolution rose but was quickly crushed by the veteran force. And by loyalists to Greogry who had fought for him. So the American Imperium was born.
Basic Summery of Current Situation: Many Americans want the Republic back. Food is short as farms are being rebuilt. The nation is expanding its fingers and building stronger as jobs are in high demand.

Please could you spoiler the pictures, also (so long as my above app is approved) the British haven't colonized (yet), Although I'm not 100% sure how we're letting that kind of thing affect other people's apps. Although saying that, you must have at least seen parts of my app or else there would be no such way that a Frenchman, even in Normandy would be born with an English a name as Gregory Payne (or, indeed speak English). Finally please clear up the spelling, punctuation and grammar, I highly doubt Americans love Lady Liberts.

EDIT: The entirety of the modern USA? I know the rest of the apps are for large pieces of land, but I'm not sure you could have claimed all of the USA by 1815 (IRL some parts of the USA weren't part of, well, the USA until the 1840's. You've either done some serious expansion since the end of the revolution OR whoever colonized the America's expanded quicker than IRL, and seeing as you only mention the original 13 colonies in your history I think it may be a good idea to clear up exactly why you're suddenly claiming all of the USA and then some.

EDIT2: Sorry, you can't have Puerto Rico, Acro's already laid claim to it.

Basic History of Nation:
The Hansa was a trade league formed to gain a monopoly and a centralized power in Northern Europe, to tackle the power of Denmark and Sweden's tariffs. It hold close ties to the dutch traders. When a dutch republic was declared in the flames of Spanish Burgundy, it almost instantaneously became one of Europes largest trade power. The Hansa could not compete to the exotic wares of the dutch, and turned to their trade rivals in the late 17th century. Most of the free cities were tired of the centralizing of the Hansa, and the power Lübeck held within it.
A council of powerful merchant families of the Hansa gathered in Amsterdam, and offered a merging to a trade state, with the Prince of Orange as head of state. It would include increased autonomy of the cities themselves, but a common military and a shared parliament. All the merchant families agreed, and the dutch leaders accepted their influence (mostly the orangists though, who got even more power).
The Dutch and germans sailed the seas, strengthening the power in South America, South Africa and the East Indies. In 1754, the VOC made a bold invasion of Calcutta, and succeded in creating a puppet state there. Since then, the armies of the VOC have swept through India, conquering and siezing everything they can find. They dominate in trade with China.
Basic Summery of Current Situation: The Union is quite stable, with the hansa having slightly more power than the dutch (mostly due to the lack of power from William VI). India is not very stable, and the ruthless extraction and violence from the VOC doesn't make it better. But the establishment of puppet kingdoms in India has lead to those areas being more calm, and the mighty armies of the VOC is able to control other areas.

Right, now onto the action. This is a current map showing the areas currently either being reserved before an app is put up, or in an app itself.

Orange is The Union of Dutch-Hanseatic Free States (Das Germane imperie), Slightly darker orange are the puppet kingdoms that can be surrendered if someone wants more of India than is currently available.

Pink is the (rough) lands of the Poland-Lithuanian Commonwealth (Traders Union)

Yellow are the lands of the Mexican Empire (Arvenia), Texas is greyed out due to the conflict of interest between the Mexican Empire and...

The American Imperium (Taganian unfied states) currently in brown.

The Oceanic Commonwealth is light blue (Lenciland) Not sure if you and Arvenia will want to talk about who controls Mindanao Island, it's greyed out on this map

Dark Blue is me (The Blazing Aura) AKA The Anglo-Kalmar Alliance

Purple is the Byzantine Empire (Halleon) ((hint, don't mess with him))

And Light Green is the Sicilian Empire (~~TBA~~ Acroticus)

Empire of Gibraltar, I'll add your claims once I know of them, sorry some of Germany and Prussia has been taken already, you can always negotiate with those who hold them to get them back if you want.

He, is a actually a she. lol. And thats fine about Puerto Rico.... why dont we do a reverse purchase of Texas deal? Mexico buys Texas but allows U.S citizens to farm their if they have homesteads older than say 5 years? And allow for free border crossing for Americans that live in the region?

Well, this is awkward isn't it. The way I see it is that I can have it, or you can have it, or we can fight for it. I'd prefer the first option seeing as how my apps been up for six days already, the third would be okay and probably interesting, the second is an option I don't think Jennings will allow. Also, props to anyone who knows what my leader is referencing.

Right, how about a compromise. Lenciland, you get Mindanao Island, Arvenia, you get Texas, TUS (sorry, I like shortening names) you can have a small part of Canada, say New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Something like that maybe?
