And that works.

for clarification, what rank(preferably in nato code) is you character?
Would it be ok if you gave my character a call, or something like that, went to his office for a meeting, or whatever

FT, but roam where i please
It does not reflect my real life world political views, which are considerably less authoritarian and more moderate
Refer to my factbook for canon, it´s however out of date, and badly written. So take it with a grain of salt

Rather weak post, but I don't bother now.
I have a severe case of addiction to writing. At least 3k words every day is my fix.

I just want to help a terrorist organization of some kind in brining down the everything.

I want in on "give war a chance" too. MASS CHAOS FOR EVERYONE!

What rank should characters be? I ask because having a random beat cop in a political shadow game would be pointless and exclude the character, while having a "our money makes money" rich aristocrat would probably be pretty dull in a setting of PEWPEWPEW street fighting over chems and stims.
All of the above.

I'm playing a random beat cop on the streets of NYC personally, along with an undercover Sinopec Operative in Canada. Soooo, just about anything is allowed.

Alrighty, thanks for the info. I'll probably be trying to get in on that sweet anarchy plot going on. I'll have more details on character backstory and stuff when I read the IC and... well... have more details.

Um...I'm not going to be able to accept this yet.

1: Do you have any previous RP examples? Because I need to know if you can RP properly.

2: The Roman Catholic Church is not well funded or powerful enough to have mechs. In fact, the most powerful militant Christian group, the CLA, does not have enough funding for mechs.

3: Any purely Christian organization would not have the capability of just rushing a PPsyC bank and wiping everyone in it out. They are far too heavily guarded, and even the CLA, is described thus:

"Armed with looted weaponry and private transactions, this growing gathering of God-fearing freedom fighters are wholly out of their depth in open war. So they have most often resorted to acts of terrorism, such as suicide bombings, assassinations, and sabotage."

So, terrorism is allowed, but such groups are wholly inadequate for open war or head-on battles with MC forces.
Image

I'm not sure how much mechs cost, but the Roman Catholic Church has funding comparable to entire countries. From Business Insider: "Cologne, [Germany's] largest diocese, had a 2012 operating budget of 939 million euros". 939 million euros is equal to about 1.03 billion dollars. That's not all of the Church, not all of Europe, just the biggest diocese in Germany. Meanwhile The Economist estimates the Roman Catholic Church has an operating budget of $170 billion in the US.

So yeah, I think that the Catholic Church has enough to do some serious stuff, assuming that it hasn't died out in the future or something else has impeded it dramatically (like megacorporations treating church taxes/donations like funding terrorist cells). It probably wouldn't be able to go to all-out war with the bigger powers, but it certainly be able to afford the expenses necessary to do the "elite strike force" idea that PFSoC was proposing, assuming they could pull it off correctly and had more of their funding directed to the central 'government' for organization and coordination of the off-the-books paramilitary operations instead of the dioceses being as independent.

So while it wouldn't be able to take on major powers like Helvetica and Constellis head-on, it would certainly be able to afford the mechs, training, equipment, transportation, etc. for deploying small-but-elite black ops like some kind of CIA deniable ops stuff. Hell, with $1.2 billion dollars being discovered in hidden assets (because of embezzlement, corruption, clerical errors, miscommunication, etc.), it just goes to show that a LOT of the Church's money can go missing without anyone outside noticing since the Church doesn't reveal all of its finances and a lot of it needs to be estimated by tallying up expenditures if outsiders want to get a fuller picture.

I don't know why I suddenly got all fired up over that, but whatever. My point still stands: Pope be pimpin'. They might not want to be fighting their own wars and might just want to sit on the sidelines and cheer anti-PPsyD people, but they certainly aren't low on cash.

I wanted a Knight of the Scale to interact with Leroy. I think Hetland was going to make one, and possibly be Leroy's teacher (Don't even know if it works like that, but it'd be nice if it did). Leroy's just kind of at one of the bases. Don't really know where :P

Alright, if Hetland doesn't I totally will. I have a pretty good idea for a Knight, and I think I know what I'll have him be doing in the arc as well.

The church isn't so powerful in this RP's canon, which is exactly the issue. Not saying the Catholic Church, if it stayed the same, wouldn't have money. Rather, the church in this RP specifically doesn't have the power nor resources. There are things which have impeded its power dramatically, such as the rise of secularism in the mainstream of humanity, making the legitimacy of the church and its requisite tithes rather shaky to say the least. Moreover, the MCs don't even allow small businesses to run on their own, and there's no way secularized MCs are going to just let the church maintain its current revenues and not tax it to death, or otherwise control it. They can't allow any possible contenders for power have that much money on their hands.

So my declaration still stands that the RC church does not have sufficient funds for a mech. And if it did, such funds, and the entire church itself, would be ruled over by Helvetica Inc. (the ruling MC in Europe), which is described as, "one of the more dictatorial of the corporations, often using their advanced and numerous security forces to quell anyone who disagrees with them."

2: I meant that today was 2300, buuuuuuut then I forgot to take away 150 years from that to tell you what year the PPsyCs were created. So what I meant is that it was 2150 when it was made.
