Bio: Ugo, as he is now known, was born in Switzerland into a good Catholic family, who following the commands of the Pope in Spe Caelorum instructed their seven children against participating in the evil of false eternities. Ugo took this teaching to heart, and strived to serve Mother Church as best he could.

When he was 22, he was inducted into the Custodes Helvetici, the long and honoured guardians of the Pope. After foiling an assassination attempt in his first year, he was approached by one of the Haumptmanns of the Custodes, and recruited further into the Milites Templi. This shadowy organisation was financed by several of the Cardinals, and was an attempt to put Spe Caelorum into full force by destroying the technology that powered the Sempiternal life.

This organisation relies on the relative difficulty in suppressing the Pope’s entry into the country. Even the Pope is unaware of this tagging along. Following a touchdown, the Milites split off one by one and make their way to the specific target, usually a Psy-Bank. After a brief reconnoitre by CAITs and local flunkies, the team will sound an all-clear to their people on the ground, and after three minutes of prayer, they will attack in full force, typically using mechs due to their capacity to put high-survivability, high-damage, flexible forces on the ground quickly. They go in, running communications jammers, and kill everyone at the facility. They then wipe the Psy Banks data and attempt at the same time to link up with parent and child Psy Banks to upload damaging viruses to them. Having done as much damage as they can do, they then plant bombs and leave.

Hugo pilots a Paladin mech, armed with a 30mm DIN autocannon and a Zweihander plasma sword. This style of mech is used primarily as a shock troop by the Milites.

This is not to say that warfare has not occurred at all. For there are several smaller factions that have been warring with the MCs, and with each other. Terrorists, vigilantes, secret conspiracies, criminal syndicates, religious armies...the world is not free of strife. Nevertheless, peace is the norm in the world. Or at least on the surface.

Just to help me understand the situation of who we're playing as (even if it's de facto): Is this looking to be combat-oriented, business-/politics-oriented, or something else? What rank should characters be? I ask because having a random beat cop in a political shadow game would be pointless and exclude the character, while having a "our money makes money" rich aristocrat would probably be pretty dull in a setting of PEWPEWPEW street fighting over chems and stims.

1: Do you have any previous RP examples? Because I need to know if you can RP properly.

2: The Roman Catholic Church is not well funded or powerful enough to have mechs. In fact, the most powerful militant Christian group, the CLA, does not have enough funding for mechs.

3: Any purely Christian organization would not have the capability of just rushing a PPsyC bank and wiping everyone in it out. They are far too heavily guarded, and even the CLA, is described thus:

"Armed with looted weaponry and private transactions, this growing gathering of God-fearing freedom fighters are wholly out of their depth in open war. So they have most often resorted to acts of terrorism, such as suicide bombings, assassinations, and sabotage."

So, terrorism is allowed, but such groups are wholly inadequate for open war or head-on battles with MC forces.
