Thanatos sat in the library, reading with Charlotte, and wondering where the sarcastic fox went.

He heard the door open, and he turned his head, to see Mason, and the fox reappear.

She walked in and smiled at Charlotte, taking a seat by the still-open book.

"No!" She said quickly, her red eyes flashing back up in an instant. She suddenly regretted her decision, her cheeks growing a deep pink. "It's just...I'm not used to it, is all. No one's usually...nice to me. Or compliments me. I'm just...new to this." She almost held her breath in for a moment, knowing somehow she'd probably screwed up. Honestly, she'd never been happier, if that wasn't obvious enough already. She blushed, trying to build up her confidence for a moment. She wasn't used to complimenting or anything, so this was difficult for her to word it. "You're...pretty amazing, too. Practically everyone loves you." She replied, putting on a weak smile.

She didn't know what in the world the sun personification could possibly want her to see during the night, her night, but it only intrigued her more. What was there that she hadn't yet seen? Was it inside, or was it outside? Was it simply somewhere she'd looked over previously? The curiosity was going to drive her insane, and she simply couldn't let herself not follow him.

It stood hunched, holding its face in its hands. Mark turned to look back down the aisle. It was empty. Where the statue had stood--where the statue should've been standing--there was just shiny, wet floor. Mark returned his gaze to the monitor and shuddered. The statue was still there, at the end of the aisle.

But hadn't it been standing further away?"
