Izra'il's part in the Thousand And One Nights is quite more than just a ferryman. He is the incarnation and function of Death. Not ~JUST~ a psychopomp.

Also interesting that Charon didn't bring up the fact that Thanatos is his brother...

Pyschopomp is the technical term for a "Soul Ferryman". Islamic tradition states that the role of a psychopomp is Izra'ils, but he also is the one that causes death, records birth, and visits the prophets and the dying. I assume we'll take different responsibilities in the passage of death, but I think we'd still both be death I suppose. We should form some sort of after school Death Club with Osiris, hah!!
