Spindle wrote:Eris closed her eyes and lost herself in the kiss, forgetting the worries and the potential disasters of the future. All there was was him and her and that was all there needed to be. She could have been in deep space and not have cared. Just the two of them together, in each other's arms, could move mountains. She shuddered when she realised the truth behind that statement. They could literally move mountains, because of the power they wielded. That was what made their love that little more poignant-and dangerous. As he whispered to her, she felt a core of determination build up insider her.

"Everything." She smiled up at Khronos, "We prevent a war, we get your people a home and we get ourselves an heir. And we look really, really good doing it."

She felt content here...content and comfortable, and warm. It was everything she needed, but she was finding it difficult to keep her eyes open, even when she pointed them at Khronos' face. She didn't even notice her transition between awake and looking at Khronos and asleep and dreaming of him.

Khronos lifted her up as she drifted to sleep, letting her words sink in; they were true. That is exactly what they would do. Khronos put her into bed, and laid down next to her, holding her as she slept. He pulled the blankets over them. He held her in his arms, sleeping comfortably next to her; his helmet went into sleep mode and covered his face again, but he slept with her. Comforting her in her sleep, being there to fight the nightmares away if they came.

Meanwhile... Lyson found out about the wedding. Disgusting. Lyson decided it was time to strike. He'd strike at the wedding - he'd kill the Imperator for his disgusting betrayal, the xenos; all of them! And then he would lead the Taari people to victory in crushing yet another xeno danger to them. He smiled pridefully. That is how things would happen, he would make sure of it. Lyson growled as he loaded his weapon... the wedding was in two weeks, and he couldn't wait for that day to come...for entirely different reasons to the Imperator.

Eris' eyes flickered open, taking in her surroundings. She was lying in the now-familiar four-poster bed, with the now-familiar warmth of Khronos against her skin. She surprised herself by how used to this she was becoming. After all, he was literally an alien king and she was now used to sleeping with him? It sounded insane. Hell, it was insane, but if that was insane she wondered what today was going to be like. Because today was the day before she married said alien king, as well as being the day she introduced him to her father, mother, uncle and aunt. It was either going to be a nightmare or a triumph.

Eris slid quietly out of bed and snagged her petticoat jacket, white as befitted a bride-to-be. She slipped silently into the shower room and turned up the spray, feeling it cascade around her shoulders and down her back in wonderful, warm rivulets. When she finally dragged herself away from the ensnaring warmth of the shower, she pulled on a black undershirt before pulling the petticoat jacket on over the top and buttoning it up. She took a deep breath, preparing for the day ahead of her, before she headed off to see what was for breakfast.

Khronos awoke shortly after she did, moving with her to walk toward the Ballroom. It is most likely where her father, mother, aunt and uncle and other family members/friends resided, as that is where the public breakfast was being held to celebrate the wedding the next day. It was really a public, almost all-day party. Khronos smiled at her as his helmet shifted off and they entered the Ballroom. He was happy with her, holding his arm around her shoulders. Keeping her pressed to him, protectively.

"If you see your family, let's meet them.", he said quietly to her. He loved her so much; he was sure his family would warm up to him if they mistrusted him. After all, if Khronos failed then his people were under a threat; and Lyson, the scum, would be proven right. Or at least, he and his sympathizers would view it as such. Khronos kept walking with her through the Ballroom, where waiters and waitresses continued serving people and bringing out breakfast foods and such...

Eris felt as if she was walking on a cloud as she paced into the Ballroom. She'd never seen it so full of...Humans. She remembered the dance she and Khronos had shared and blushed slightly, her lips twitching. Her hands had found his chest instinctively, without her mind's input into the process and her smile widened at that. It would help convince Armillius that she was genuine. She leaned her head against his shoulder, letting him support her weight-a gesture of trust in him that she knew Armillius would pick up on.

For a moment, a flicker of pain passed over her face. Why did she have to think about everything in terms of political benefit? Was it not enough that she loved Khronos and wanted to be near him, to affirm his existence? Tears started to well up, but she pushed them down. This wasn't the time for crying, not when she was about to be married.

A glitter of gold caught the corners of her vision and she stiffened. Armillius, Cornelia, Odysseus, Catherine and...

"Euphemia!" Eris called out, pulling herself from Khronos to run over and embrace the shorter girl. Stunningly beautiful and with the social graces to match, Eris knew Euphemia should really have been the one out here, but she had been indisposed when contact had first been established and Eris knew she wouldn't begrudge her happiness.

"Eris!" Euphemia returned the hug, before turning to Khronos, "And who's this? Is he free?"

"No, he's my future husband." Eris grinned back at her, "Khronos, this is Euphemia, my sister. Euphemia, this is Khronos."

"A pleasure." Euphemia smiled sincerely, kissing Khronos on each cheek.

"And this is King Armillius, Queen Cornelia, my uncle and aunt, and Duke Odysseus and Duchess Catherine, my father and mother." Eris said to Khronos, before turning to the others, "And this is Imperator Khronos, my husband as of tomorrow."

Khronos smiled, nodding at Euphemia as she introduced herself. He assumed this was all a bit of a normal greeting among humans of Spindle, and said nothing; trying to respect their customs. Khronos moved to his fiance, wrapping his arm around her again, kissing her briefly as he turned to look at her family. They all seemed... extraordinary. Khronos gave a warm smile to them. He looked to the Duchess.

"I suppose I have you to thank for bringing my love into existence... and I can certainly see where she gets her beauty from.", he said; his tone was complimentary. He was trying to be as polite as possible. He looked over at Armilius, and the others, smiling in a friendly manner at them. Although, he was trying to be polite, he forgot sometimes that he wasn't exactly the best at group social interaction... so, it may have been slightly awkward. Khronos spoke again, to all of them.

"Duchess, Duke... King, Queen. Among Taari, due to our... situation, honor is of the upmost extreme value. And I tell you this for the following reason; I swear on my entire honor that I will do absolutely, positively everything in my power to make Eris, my love, as happy as she could possibly ever be. No expense will be too high for her. And she will be safe, guaranteed. I would fight the unholy beasts of Oblivion before I let anything bad happen to Eris.", he said. His tone was absolute; filled with such genuine love and extremeness that everyone, even Eris, would know he was not lying. Not a tiny amount. Khronos kept his hold over Eris, wanting to be with her as long as possible.

Solia, as you have probably read as well. Based on this information, This Federation looks promising for friendly relations but, we need more information before we consider contacting the Council for diplomatic talks.
I suggest either a meeting with either their current representative or with their government, while following First Contact Relations Protocol of course.

Understood Master Osan, I will contact your team when a meeting is going to take place. Solia closes the link. Gia, sent his message, " me and my crew have review the information and have concluded that we would like to have a meeting with your government to discuss future relations between our people. Or if a meeting is not possible not this time, than a meeting with you either on my or one of your ships?"

"Very well than, we will send word to our government and begin to make preparations for your arrival. It has been a pleasure working with you.

Good, everything looks to be going smoothly with the Confederation, Solia thought. Solia activates her wristguard and contacts Master Osan. Master Osan, they have agreed to a meeting, I want you and your team ready when we arrive at their homeworld and I will accompany you for the meeting.

Okay, Solia we will be ready for the meeting.

Solia closes the link, Tern, you will be in charge of the ship when we land and while I believe that it won't come to it. Follow protocol if the worse comes to pass.

Yes, Captain,Tern replies. But, I hope your sake and Master Osan that it does not come to pass.

I hope so too, Tern, she replies to him. Gia sent this message, "We will prepare for the meeting and please contact us when your government is ready for us".

Spindle wrote:Ophius smiled at Shellist's comment. If we was willing to joke about that, it meant that the UTT were more or less over it-not that that would stop them bringing it up in every diplomatic talk they ever engaged in. Still, it was a step in the right direction.

"We won't." Eris grinned wickedly, her finger crossing lightly over her left breast, "Cross my heart, hope to live forever."

Progress reports were flooding into her holo, and it seemed to be going well so far. The current estimates were that the integration would be completed on time, although Ophius had a suspicion that they were somewhat optimistic, since the two pod types had never been meant as switch-in, switch-out components. Still, if they were only fifteen minutes behind Ophius would need to find who ever was directing this and give them a commendation personally.

Shellist nodded at Eris with a grin, and said, "Let's all pray to our gods that this works. If it does, this will be the greatest espionage attempt the UTT has taken part in. Notify me if anything comes up that we can help with."

Eris' eyes narrowed as Caroline smiled politely at Khronos' compliment before her mask of normality reasserted itself. She wasn't going to let Caroline get inside her head, not today of all days. She leaned against Khronos a little bit more, as if to affirm that he was there. When Khronos spoke again however, her smile became genuine and she gave him a slight squeeze. It was going well.

"My thanks." Odysseus gave Khronos a smile with a lot of teeth, "It is reassuring to hear that my daughter is in good hands."

And by that you mean powerful hands. Eris thought, Powerful hands that you stand to manipulate.

"Ours also." Cornelia smiled graciously, "So how has she been? Oh yes, did you pack the present, dear?"

"Yes, I packed it." Armillius replied with the air of a much-maligned husband, "I couldn't well remember not to pack it with the damnable Minister for Internal Transfers handing me sheaf after sheaf of forms to fill out for it."

He reached inside his jacket and pulled out a crystal vial with two identical, deep blue pills inside. He extended it to Khronos.

"These pills contain a prototype viral vector to rewrite part of your DNA." He explained, "Specifically, your oxygen-carrying cells. The adaption stops nitrogen from attacking them, making it safe for up to thirty-six hour periods without envirosuits." He paused for a second, "The second one is for you to synthesize."

Ophius nodded her head at Shellist's response.

"We will. Ophius out."

The holo went blank and she looked over to Scorpius, who shook his head.

"No reports that the engineering teams have met any significant problems." He reported, "We should be done on time."

Ophius nodded and smiled to herself. Forget giving the engineering coordinator a commendation, she might just give him a kiss at this rate! If everything was going according to the optimistic schedule, they would have perhaps an extra hour to manipulate and analyse the data before the meeting, which might just mean the difference between spotting an extra heat signal behind the first or not.

"Somebody bring in the champagne." She said into her personal comm channel, "This waiting is going to start killing my nerves."

Spindle wrote:Eris' eyes narrowed as Caroline smiled politely at Khronos' compliment before her mask of normality reasserted itself.

The Imperator's Might
Capital Dreadnought of All Remnant Fleets
The Taari Armada / Remnant

Khronos took the vial, his eyes widening. He took it with his unoccupied hand. He stared at it like a child who just received a reward for doing absolutely nothing. He smiled suddenly. Genuinely, honestly... it was a bright, wide smile as a tear streaked down his face suddenly. He stared up at them all, trying to compose himself and failing. He was crying tears of joy.

"Y-you did this? For... for me? For my people? I- I don't know where to begin! Thank you... just... Thank you so much...", he said. He released Eris long enough to actually shake hands with Armilius. He shook it firmly and thankfully, honestly, before returning to Eris' side. Khronos seemed overwhelmed a bit. He seemed extremely happy. He stared at Eris.

"Did... you know?", he asked. It wasn't out of suspicion or anger, but out of joy, thanks and love. He honestly wanted to know if his fiance convinced her uncle to do this for them, or if the uncle had done this just to do it. Still, though, Khronos silently and without a single fazing of his current bodylanguage and such made note to have it tested and such to make sure it worked. To make sure it was real...

Stien nodded. "We have set up this base so that we have a base of operations in the area. furthermore, we are able to replenish our forces slightly until we get reinforcements from the Syntar cluster." Stien said.

Hijuule smiled. It was a genuine smile. Rare for his type. "That's great! Have you been briefed on the espionage we will be doing?"

Stien pondered over this. "Most interesting, we've never heard of that technique. its rather ingenious." Stien said, his voice calm as always. "Very well then, what are we required to do then?"

Stien nodded. "I see. I think I will leave this in your hands." He said.

Edge of Todval system
A flash of light would herald the coming of the Generation. It dropped out of hyperspace on the edge of an uncharted system. It had taken 15 years for the primitive hyperdrive technology on the Generation to reach this area of space, and the crew was glad they found an area with planets capable of supporting life. "Scan the area. I want to be sure we are safe." Captain Lethox said, his small 1 foot frame, sitting coiled on the bridge.

Stien once again nodded. "Of course. It is only fair." He said, gesturing for them to follow him as he exited the room. "The V.R.A. is not the most technologically advanced race, however, we have managed to match other species in combat through our military prowess." Stien explained, gesturing outside a window, revealing an Owl missile cruiser being constructed in a shipyard.
