NS Nation Name: Void
Nation Name: The Arcturo (Common: "The Living Forest" / Uncommon: "The Trees Who Speak" / Official: "Arcturo" / Unofficial: "The Growth")
Flag: None.
Location: On various planets in the galaxy.
Government Type: Imperial Telepathic: The 'Oldest One' is the Emperor, and the eldest of all Arcturo. The Arcturo communicate flawlessly at the galactic level through 'thoughts' - it is unknown how the Arcturo accomplish this. The Council of Growth makes all decisions which are then approved by the Oldest.
Economic Ideology: None.
History: The Arcturo are a species of sentient plants. More than that, they are sentient tree-like organisms. Their bark is actually a thick, exoskeletal-like armor. Underneath that, they are made of flesh, nerves and bone. The 'Core' is where their brains are located. One Arcturo can make a forest the size of thousands upon thousands of trees. These trees and their branches are mobile, but the trunks and such are not - rendering an Arcturo fixed in position on whatever planet its on, except during the Youth Stage (approx. 500 Solar Years). The Arcturo have been around for a long time; although they cannot recall when they arrived. The Oldest One says It does not remember, and It is in the Elder Stage (approx. 80,000+ Solar Years).
The Arcturo have been observing all other species, even the Florans, for thousands upon thousands of years. They do not care for the petty conflicts of those who are "Flesh." But they are intrigued by the Floran and the Highbreed, seeing them as useful and possible allies. Well, moreso the former than the latter. Nonetheless, the Arcturo communicate with flawless telepathy that can span across the galaxy with ease; this means all Arcturo know what is happening to other Arcturo in a relatively instantaneous manner. When in a Youth Stage, an Arcturo tries to generate as many Thralls as possible to move it, or to take it to a new world if possible. If not, two Arcturo will grow too close together and eventually fuse into one. Arcturo see via their Thralls. If none are available, they can sense heat, air pressure, and atmospheric changes. They can detect sound and interpret it expertly via vibrations or their Thralls' ears, preferably.
Population: 2,000,000 throughout the galaxy.
Species:
Arcturo: The actual entities of the entirety of all Arcturo. They are sentient and sapient, but are immobile, living for thousands upon thousands of years in place until they die or have no further room to grow. In many cases, an Arcturo could eventually grow to forest an entire planet - and thus being only a single Arcturo which owns said planet.
Thralls: Created by those who are connected to an Arcturo's mind via telepathic link. This can only occur if a being is within a forest of Arcturo, or if the Arcturo pokes a tendril into the brain of a being. Either way, Thralls are eventually created.
ECONOMIC:
Ideology: None.
Economy: None.
Manufacturing: Relying on Thralls and their technology, usually.
Agriculture: None needed; the planets feed them just by existing in habitable conditions.
MILITARY:
Population: Unknown; depends on the need of the Arcturo. Thralls are usually used as military forces in offense or planetary-level defense.
Branches: None.
Standard Infantry: See 'Thralls.'
Standard Weapons: Depends on species that have been rendered unto Thralls.
Standard Ship: Depends on species turned into Thralls.
Weapons: Depends on species turned into Thralls.
Strengths: Since they are usually forests, Arcturo are exceptionally hard to kill; and even then, after destroying the forest, one needs to destroy It's "Core," which is where the brain/heart/everything else lives to kill it. That combined with It's telepathic ability to turn other organic species into Thralls after prolonged exposure makes them lethal in their territory.
Weaknesses: A forest cannot move. If you stay far away, you're safe as long as no Thralls are near or on planet.
Just felt like making it to bring new allies for the Florans. These ones are more agreeable than the Highbreed, who just want to consume all organic sentient-sapient life. Not only that, but I feel as though the Arcturo will find a way to be helpful in the longrun for everyone. Note: telepathic abilities are where they begin and end with Arcturo. Due to their extremely powerful telepathy, psionic abilities to do with influencing minds doesn't work on them; and they're the best at doing it to others. More than likely, anyways..
