Weakened by their War with the Salorian remnants, the Empire has strived for expansion and fortification of its inner Colonies for almost 80 Years, by pure show of might they managed to annex countless Planets, those who rejected their rule were quickly shown the true might of both the Imperial Fleet and the Imperial Marines. Even so, their first encounter with the Delathu Peoples was not as victorious as the encounters they had before, faced with foes with the Power of shielding, the Imperial Fleets have been struggling since their first skirmish with the Delathu, their High Explosive Weaponry able to destroy smaller ships but when up against the giant Delathu Motherships, their Weaponry barely breaks through the shield. The Empire relies on sheer force, using masses of Ships and Support Craft to overwhelm its enemies in space, while utilizing every support unit able to help ground units to advance and annihilate their enemies. Even though now they are described as a Race that lives on war, they used to be one of the most peaceful in their sector, but after another Race attacked and ran a brutal campaign of murder and Rape, the so called Klendarian Republic reformed into the Empire with the goal of uniting all under their flag.

A Federation of Hive like Races, who have a well known Reputation of destroying weak and inferior races in order to attain more living Space for their almost Endless amount of Younglings and more importantly their Brood. As Observed on Oreva IV, where the original species on the Planet were wiped out, and their resources and Structures used to store the Hives Brood. They have an almost unstoppable bloodlust against the Klendarian Empire and have ever since sacrificed Trillions of their own to attain victory and destroy their very way of life. They rely on heavy shielding and above all Plasma weaponry, meaning that in their society, Energy is needed for almost every aspect of Defence and Offence. After years of fighting with the Kaldarian Empire, the Delathu Federation has periodically begun replacing and upgrading their body parts with mechanical ones, some of the even soldiers replace their limbs with weapons, while workers replace theirs with necessary tools.

A small hive ship, with two small fleets consisting of 10 cruisers each sits outside the defence perimeter of Arae I, they appear to be scouting the way for a bigger war fleet to arrive.

The small 8 Ship Defence Fleet of Arae I are ordered to continue remaining in their current Formation in Orbit above Arae I.

The hive ship and the two fleets are ordered to not engage, they remain in a defensive position, ready to defend themselves in case of an attack.

The Maraxi Theocracy

Despite their fearsome appearance while in battle suits, the Maraxi people are actually a very pacifist race. Their millenia of peaceful existence and objectiveness towards outside matters has given the Maraxi the reputation of being the best diplomats and peacekeepers in the Sector. Although pacifist by nature, the Maraxi do not hesitate to fight if need be, and are known to have great tenacity and endurance in battle.

The Maraxi have a strong connection to nature, and see it as their duty to protect it from destruction. This belief stems from their religion - the Maraxi are a monotheistic people who believe in a Goddess called Aetha, who they believe created the universe, including all lifeforms. Their government is in the form of a council of five 'High Priests', who are said to be Aetha's representatives in the mortal realm and can communicate with Her. The Maraxi are rumoured to have strong telepathic and telekinetic powers, although no non-Maraxi has ever experienced this. As such the Maraxi are not known to have a verbal language - they are supposedly able to communicate with each other mentally. For this reason, Maraxi who are not involved in diplomacy or government are unable to speak, as they have never had a need to. A notable fact is that the Maraxi have never conquered a system militarily - all inhabited systems within their governance have willingly submitted to them.

The Cathari Empire




The Cathari people were once one of two races to inhabit their native world of Shiiva. A bloody war between the Cathari and Zaburii people led to the desolation of the planet Shiiva and the extinction of the Zaburii people. The Cathari people using the remnants of their civilization, created a fleet of ships with these ships the colonized and have subjugated 6 nearby planets, they are accommodating to outsiders but calculating and swift to give retribution. Their mastery of electronic and sub atomic weaponry is nearly unmatched.

"Captain Xeroth, we summon you to the High Council Chambers immediately." the voice of a kinsman echoes inside Xeroth's head. The Maraxi Captain rises from his bed and stands suddenly, knowing the voice well.

The High Priests summon me? An honour...but why? Xeroth thinks, donning his battlesuit and hastily walking through the labyrinth-like corridors of the Maraxus Prime Military Headquarters. Fellow soldiers greet him politely, but Xeroth has no time for idle chitchat. He has been summoned by the most powerful, honourable, blessed of his kin, an honour rarely given by the Council. So few of the Maraxi had actually met the High Priests face-to-face, or even communed with them. Xeroth was overcome by honour, and so made it his sole duty to please the Council.

Exiting the Military Headquarters, Xeroth is greeted by the familiar overgrown jungle of his homeland, untouched for millenia, a living relic of the Maraxi. Normally he would stop for a moment to reflect on the beauty of the environment, but now was not the time. He rushes to the High Council Chambers, at the entrance of which two armed guards stand. Not a word is exchanged between Xeroth and the guards, there is simply an understanding nod before Xeroth is given clearance. Once he enters the Chambers, Xeroth immediately lowers his faceplate to reveal his scarred face and kneels on one knee to the five High Priests seated around the round table in front of him. He bows his head before sending his message to the five leaders of the Maraxi.

"Blessed Ones...you do me the greatest of honours by accepting me here." he says, head still bowed.

"Now is not the time for pleasantries. We have received a distressing message from Aetha. Rise, hardened warrior." the same voice Xeroth had heard earlier echoes. He obeys the command, standing quickly and making eye contact with the five High Priests.

"You have spoken to Her? A distressing message? Space pirates attacking again?" Xeroth replies curiously, mandibles twitching.

"No, worse than space pirates. War. Inter-civilisation war. The conflict between the Klendarians and the Delathu draws closer and closer to our systems."

Xeloth's mandibles click in some show of...outrage, perhaps.

"What?! Impossible! The Klendarians and Delathu are lightyears away...how could they be so close?"

"I sense doubt in your thoughts, Xeroth...do you doubt the words of Aetha?"

"No...no, of course not...nor do I doubt the words of her Chosen. What would you have me do, Blessed One? Xeroth says, calming down and kneeling again.

"Ready the fleets for any infringement on our airspace. We mustn't let their unholy war cause collateral to us. Should their feud come here, warn them to leave...if they do not, well...we will have to resort to drastic measures."

"Of course."

"You are dismissed, Captain. Aetha guide you."

"And also you, Blessed One."

As he stands to leave, Xeroth bows lowly, almost touching his chest with his head. The bow continues for a length of time that would seem almost comedic to a non-Maraxi, but in Maraxi culture, such a bow is a sign of ultimate loyalty, respect and subservience. Xeroth slowly rises from his bow, then exits the Chambers, raising his faceplate to cover his face again.

Ratraxes, emperor of the Cathari sits quietly on his throne. He looks out at the landscape of Jicarii his peoples new capital. The locals had been defeated swiftly. Now they lived among his people, many were two young to remember the days before the Cathari invaded. A ship zooms past the palace carrying goods from distant planets.
