I'm not satisfied with mine per se but I have a limited time to be on and was the best I could do at the moment. Things should be better soon.

In short the Empire is going to try and formally acquire the remaining areas of Eastern Washington State. Putting them directly next to Idaho. Eastern Washington State is pretty much a patchwork of colonies and settlements separated by vast stretches of wilderness. Then again most of the world is wilderness anyways.

In my post the last part("my name is-") was meant to allow you if you wish to RP some NPC of some sort. At the moment my guy is holding court with a bunch of ambassadors, vassals, and the like. You can do something if you wish, I will just simply continue the story line if you want.

I was thinking more like a local power but cool. Seems strange for them to be concerning themselves with a bunch of, rather organized, pirates but cool. Something to do with trade in the south maybe? Safe passage and all that jazz.

One mans pirate is another's privateer. So to speak.i can throw in local powers too for added realism too. I like to add fluff whenever possible anyways

May be complicated, he is a full on pirate king leading an entire armada and more or less having De facto control over the entire area, akin to a Maritime Empire in it's own right. His power, and especially wealth, derive less from being a classic pirate(though it does help) and more from controlling the trade routes in the local area and exacting tribute from local rulers.

I allow time lapses just so long as it's not ridiculous or to give an unfair edge over someone else. I usually allow time to be within 48 hours of my post IC-wise due to the medieval theme and slow methods of communication and travel

In the OP it states that no one shall be running around with muskets. Fire arm technology is roughly 15th century level. This makes them rather indecisive in battle unless up against fortifications and if you have cannons like bombards and mortars. Further the number of fire arm bearing troops would be rather low. This is simply due the fact individual soldiers have to make their own shot and everything has to be hand made or use the technology of the time period. This is by no means set in stone and depending on how long the role play has been running I will allow a progression in technology as we all develop the world by our interactions

In Emberverse everything but basic technology stopped working and as time progresses the world begins to take on a more medieval tone. Towards the later books they even begin debating the existence of magic.

EDIT: By 'very basic tech' I did mean bikes...not matchlocks. Of course gunpowder doesn't work in the world of SM Stirling I've read the first 6 of the emberverse series. Good stuff.
