About that, Columbia.... there sort of is a not-too-hard way of avoiding, or at least delaying/weakening it. And in my habit of shooting myself in the foot I'll probably tell you, if you want.
It's obviously not a perfect solution, but it is one of significance.

Army:
Imperial Japanese Army: 1,200,000. Well equipped, well trained, well led and well motivated. Almost without a doubt the most effective land army in Asia. It is a veteran three major international conflicts, the Sino-Japanese War, the Boxer Rebellion and Russo-Japanese War. In all three of these conflicts (apart from perhaps the Boxers) the IJA/IJN took on and defeated much larger countries, China and Russia respectively.

Brief Description of your Economy: Japan emerged from the Tokugawa-Meiji transition as the first Asian industrialized nation. From the onset, the Meiji rulers embraced the concept of a market economy and adopted British and North American forms of free enterprise capitalism. Rapid growth and structural change characterized Japan's two periods of economic development after 1868. Initially, the economy grew only moderately and relied heavily on traditional Japanese agriculture to finance modern industrial infrastructure. By the time the Russo-Japanese War began in 1904, 65% of employment and 38% of the gross domestic product (GDP) were still based on agriculture, but modern industry had begun to expand substantially. Know, manufacturing and mining amounted to 34% of GDP, compared with 20% for all of agriculture. Transportation and communications developed to sustain heavy industrial development.
From 1894, Japan built an extensive empire that included Taiwan, Korea, and parts of northern China. The Japanese regarded this sphere of influence as a political and economic necessity, which prevented foreign states from strangling Japan by blocking its access to raw materials and crucial sea-lanes. Japan's large military force was regarded as essential to the empire's defense and prosperity by obtaining natural resources that the Japanese islands lacked.
Goals:
Build good relations with Britain and America, get stable relations with Russia
Acquire Resources
Halt Chinese "modernization"
Keep China fractured and weak
Acquire Manchuria
Become arbiter of the East Pacific
History:
really the same as RL Japan, however, after the Sino-Japanese War, Japan demands slightly larger reparations from China. These amount to control over the cities of Suzhou near Shanghai and ports on the Shandong and Dailan peninsulas. After the Boxer Rebellion, Japan refuses to withdraw its troops from Beijing until China sign over the entirety of Shandong and Dailan over to the Empire.

Government Info
Government Type: Semi-Constitutional Federal Monarchy.
Brief Explanation of Government:A Federation at the head of which are the Reichskanzler and the Kaiser (HoG and HoS, respectively). The Kaiser permanently is the King of Prussia by personal union while the Kanzler is appointed by him. The federal legislative is bi-camerical, consisting of the Bundesrat and Reichstag. The former, the upper house, contains representatives from all states of the Empire, their amount determined by their population (though at least one representing each state). It's powers are the veto of Reichstag bills, as well as the ability to disband aforementioned lower house, should the Emperor agree. The Reichstag, the lower house, is the house that actually creates, debates, and passes laws, including federal budgets. It is elected by an universal male franchise for the age 20, with the specifics (such as a weight system or lack thereof) being a matter of the respective states.
On the local level, the states range from republics to monarchies. Except in defense/military, diplomacy/foreign affairs, and finances, are virtually independent states, only being restricted on not conflicting with federal laws.

Army: Branches: Imperial Army (and in the future possibly an Imperial Aviation Corps). 970,000 troops pre-mobilization (Slightly less than 1.202%, compared to OTL's 1.23) - with the ability to get up to 16,140,300 of mobilized troops (exactly 20%, slightly smaller percentage than OTL). Quality is excellent, world-famed, etc,etc Discipline is derived from the Prussian system, Pickelhauben are worn. There also are the Askari, though I'm unsure if their numbers were included in the numbers I used as a basis for mine, or not, and if therefore I should have them included here, or not.
Navy: (branches, number of troops, quality of navy, etc,) 20 Dreadnought and Pre-Dreadnought Battleships. 8 Coastal Defense ships. 12 Battlecruisers. 8 Armoured Cruisers. 30 Light Cruisers. 5 Mine-laying Cruisers. 1 Aviso. 1 Gunboat. 150 Torpedo boats and destroyers, roughly. So 233 in total. Also, 56 U-boats. For comparison, Germany OTL had 47 Dreadnoughts and Battleships, IIRC, 6 Battlecruisers, 2 mine-layers, 28 U-boats, 8 CDSs, 37 Light cruisers, 1 Aviso and Gunboat each, and 9 armoured cruisers. 28 U-boats, and roughly the same amount of torpedo-boats and destroyers. All-in-all, a focused away from capital-ships.

Brief Description of your Economy: STRONKOne of the mightiest economies of the world.
Though the german states started industrializing late, still lagging behind by 1850, they rather rapidly grew their economies thanks to many positive influences on such a rise. Especially Silesia and the Ruhr-area saw large industrial developments, thanks to the natural resource of coal, located there in abundance. Bohemia too is a region rich in industry. In the high north of Germany, though, and even more so east of the Elbe, agriculture reigns supreme, supported by the old Junker class.
Germany is also famed for its Steel and Weapon industries, in the former of which it dominates the world together with the US. It also has had one of the first welfare systems, constructed as an anti-socialist measure, but since expanded - sometimes with socialist support. It, together with Britain and Columbia, is one of the three most industrialized countries in the world. Chemicals also are a strong industry.

- Historical until the Congress of Vienna.
- At the Congress, in return for France getting to keep Walloonia, Prussia demanded that a sovereign rump-Luxembourg would be placed under its influence.
- 1859, 27th of January, the man who one day would reign as Wilhelm II is born, a boy like any other.
- In 1864, after the second Schleswig war, Christian IX's offer of letting the whole Kingdom of Denmark (including Schleswig and Holstein) enter the confederation is accepted, with the addendum that in a decade observations should be made on the German-Danish tensions in the two duchies and that if they remain a different solution will have to be negotiated. Bismarck considers this an adequate solution, as well as gaining the Danish Kingdom for his side in the future tensions.
The proper government of Denmark objects, but Austria and Prussia quickly marsh their troops on, leaving the danish no option but to capitulate.- 1866, it is decided tat Austria should not be spared for the sake of gambling on it being a future ally, and Bohemia-Moravia is annexed by Prussia. The North German Confederation is formed and includes both Luxembourg and and Denmark, too.
- 1874, tensions not having calmed, a referendum is held in the two duchies, the danish parts remaining part of the Danish Kingdom within the German Empire, the German parts being annexed to Prussia.
- 1880s and later: Germany invests much less in its navy, the so-called Naval race never happening. It's navy still is significant, just that it probably has much less capital ships and possibly instead moved to smaller, more defensive, ships

Nation Name: Empire of Brazil, Império do Brasil
Symbols: Flag, Coat of Arms, Anthem
Homeland Population: 25,476,700
Imperial Population: No colonies.
Location/Claims: Brazil, Uruguay.
Capital City: Rio de Janeiro.
Government Info
Government Type: Constitutional Monarchy.
Brief Explanation of Government: Article 2 of the Empire's Constitution clearly defines the roles of the Monarch and the Parliament; the Assembleia Geral. Politics in the Empire take place in a framework of a quasi-federal parliamentary representative democratic monarchy, whereby the Emperor of Brazil is the head of state and nominally head of government although the President of the Council of Ministers is effectively the de facto head, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the two chambers of the General Assembly). The Judiciary is independent of the Executive and the Legislative. The Empire of Brazil is divided into 20 provinces and the Neutral City; Rio de Janeiro.
Ideology: Progressivism, Federalism, Constitutional Monarchism, Liberalism.
Leader/s: Emperor Pedro II, Head of Government, Head of State.
Venceslau Brás, President of the Council of Ministers
Population Info
Brief Description of your people: The Brazilian People are a great mixture; ranging from former slaves, to original colonialists, to European and other continent's immigrants. They are diverse, but all are Brazilian. The majority of the populace adheres to Roman Catholicism, and many hold the monarchy in a high regard due to the popularity of Pedro II. They are a hardworking and industrious people, some clinging to their Portuguese routes more than others - but even if the ties to the old world have been severed, the language remains a universally binding contract.
Religion: Roman Catholicism, officially. Various small amounts of Protestants, Native Faiths and a few faiths from Asia.
Ethnicity: 'Brazilian'
Main/Accepted Culture(s): Brazilian, Portuguese, other Western Europeans.
Other Cultures: Eastern Europeans, East Asians, Native Americans.
Military Info
Army: 200,000 men in the army, composed of infantry, cavalry and artillerymen. Depending on the general, the soldiers are drilled to European Standards at the request of the Emperor, but some of the Generals are more traditional in their views - these can be predominantly found leading the armies in the north of the countries, as those in the South will take any advantage they can muster to keep the soldiers modern against the impending loom of an upstart South American Nation trying to claw at the Brazilian Pedestal. Machine guns and more modern artillery pieces have just begun to appear in the army itself, and this is only expected to continue to rise.
Navy: The Imperial Navy is strong and mighty indeed, only lagging behind the greatest of the European Powers. Brazil prides herself in a strong navy, and although much smaller than most of the major powers of the European continent, it is kept up to date and modern - thus requests to these powers to construct them vessels is a common occurrence. (Don't know about ship numbers)
Other Info
Brief Description of your Economy: Agriculture is a large giant of the Empire's economy, but industry is prevalent now too. No longer do Brazilian products merely leave the country as raw materials, but now they can be processed into industrial goods and other such things. However, it would not be wise to dismiss the power of agriculture in such a large nation. The industrial segments of the country, really, are only found in the coastal areas and the north east, in tandem with the majority of the population. The Brazilian economy is a giant, indeed, and it is a testimony to the successes of the Empire.
Goals: Maintain her position as the giant of Latin America, continue to keep the military and navy modern, continue the reforms of Pedro to allow Brazil to flourish and progress.
History: It is virtually the same up until the coup that removes Pedro II from power. Two main things have changed; his sons never perished in their youth and Pedro did not become pessimistic. Knowing he had male heirs to succeed him, Pedro continued to have a great say in the politics of his realm and strongly halted the coup of November 1889 with a decisive use of his loyal military forces. Instead of executing the main leaders behind the coup, they were exiled across the globe. This had a profound respect, as the sentiment amongst the populace was to actually kill the individuals for assaulting their King. The sudden revelation at how much his people actually adored him continued to bring a sense of pride to the Emperor, whom steadily continued his reign up until 1908. In this time a variety of things had occurred, including giving women the vote at the end of the 1890s, the continuation of his strong and sound economic policies that continued to modernise Brazil and increased relations with the United States of Columbia. After 1908 however, Pedro delegated his official ruling duties to his son, Alfonso, but was (And still is), the Emperor by name and still very much serves as the main adviser to his son. His popularity has remained steadfast throughout his years, but his health is now in a slight decline here in 1914. Alfonso too has carried on the policies of his father, but has been rather stingy in the regard of nestling the Empire into any of the growing power blocs of the European Continent.

Brief Description of your Economy: Historical basis. My Columbia is not all that different, however the platform of the progressive party is slowly being implemented.
Goals: Murica everywhere
History:
History changes in 1911.
On October 11 1912 while at a campaign stop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania New Jersey governor and Democratic hopeful Woodrow Wilson is assassinated while at a campaign event. The shock rocks the Democratic party, whose presidential campaign collapses as the much less popular Thomas R. Marshall to take control of the campaign less than a month before the election. As a result, former president Theodore Roosevelt wins the election in a landslide, defeating incumbent Republican William Taft.
Since then not much has happened. The Progressive Party saw gains in the congressional elections of 1912, but the Democrats still control both houses. Through some compromises the Progressive agenda is slowly being implemented, but the government has been somewhat hesitant to act.
Border conflicts with Mexico have become an issue, as banditos and the Columbian Army fight along the shared border. Tensions between the two countries are growing increasingly hostile, as Roosevelt is trying to prevent the outbreak of all out war. Meanwhile, as the Europeans prepare for battle, the nation's leading Anglophiles are silently watching.

Government Type: Semi-absolute centralized monarchy, the Caliph remains a strong but benevolent force, leaving the day-to-day functions of the State to a trusted Divan. There is no parliament, however regional Ev which help govern the Millets act as a way for the non-elite to reach for reform.
Brief Explanation of Government: The Caliph of Islam, is the highest authority within the Caliphate, and doubles as the secular Sultan of Ottomans and religious head of the Islamic people. The Sunni sect has accepted the Ottoman Sultan as Caliph, and support has increased with the wider acceptance of Arabs in the Empire. The Divan is charged with running day-to-dayt administration, though unlike in actual history factionalism has been clamped down on, and loyalty is to the Sultan and Caliph, not to any faction such as the Young Turks or the concept of the Old Order.
The Millet are organized communities along eligious lines. Depending on the millet a person belongs to they are either tried under Secular, Sharia, Canon Law, or Halakha or other law. The Millets are designed also to protect minority groups. The Empire is divided among Vilayets which are governed by a Vilay, directly responsible to the Sultan/Caliph.
Factionalism has been eliminated among the military, and the Military no longer plays an active role in politics - since the elimination of the practice of choosing powerful military leaders to lead the civil government. Instead meritocratic bureaucrats are chosen from among the educated elite - a new social class has emerged, the kalem. Educated middle-class men who make their way through the civil government.
Ideology: Caliphate, the Ottoman State professes no ideology, other than it's commitment to Allah. Other than that the Ottoman State does not profess any ideology, and the Sultan and Caliph maintains calm, and uses systems more similar to Realpolitik than any ideology.

Army: 100,000 Active - 200,000 Reserve. The Ottoman Army is modernized, with western technology, good discipline and instruction, and due to the Programme of Sciences instituted by Istanbul is equipped with powerful artillery and gunnery. The Caliph having been able to rally Islam to his cause, commands the loyalty of the devout, and the Orduları i Allah, or Armies of God are composed of specialty regiments, mainly drawn from Arabia and particularly devout Turks who fight with special vigor and fury.
Navy: The Ottoman Navy is equipped with the best ships of the day - though it is not numerous, since it is with the Ottoman Army that the strength lies.
Other Info
Brief Description of your Economy: The Ottoman Economy is extremely diverse, with agriculture, manufacturing, commerce, and trade all contributing significantly to the economy. Manufacturing is state funded, and flourishes in large settlements such as Ankara and other cities. Another source of jobs and revenue is the construction of rail throughout the realm, which is now almost complete.
Goals:History: After the death of Osman III, his son, Mustafa III took power. And seeing the decline of his Empire in relation to Western powers began to reform the Ottoman State as to catch up with Europe before it was too late. He eliminated factionalism in the court, strengthened the claim to the Caliphate. His successor Abdulhamit I, continued his brother's reforms and too went the Arab community for support. Making strong alliances within their people, he blended the Caliphate with a new secularized state, a unique and contradictory balance. The next Sultan, Selim III, was as in real history reform-minded, and after seeing the threat that the Janissary posed to the Government he did away with them, he sent the Janissary army on a crusade against Persia where a large amount of their leadership died in battle. When they were called home they could not resist the pace of reform that had begun.
- Maintain itself as a power
- Reclaim control of Egypt
- Make a dazzling re-entrance into the Balkans
The next Sultan Mahmud II, also embraced the path of reform and after a long period of strife in the Balkans he released Greece, and Romania as independent nations. Albeit without negotiations with the rebel leaders, placing rulers who were "grateful" to the Ottomans on the thrones. Serbia and Bulgaria were given the same status of Egypt, and the Serbs, Macedonians and Bulgarians were finally organized into their own millets.
Abdülmecid I, the next Ottoman Sultan successfully completed the reorganization of the millet system. And replaced the archaic institution of the civil-military caste, and instead brought about a system where education flourished. Bringing educated men into civil governance, the kalem, instead of militaristic aristocrats. The amazing "Ottoman Lion" as it was called, continued to keep pace with Europe, sometimes event taking the lead. The Ottoman Agha, leaders of the military where fond of using psychological tricks to keep their troops moralized. The Ottoman Empire, even after many Sultans, maintains a strong force, and still is a competitive power.

Brief Explanation of Government: The Kingdom of Argentina is a constitutional, parliamentary monarchy much like Britain. The head of state is the King of Argentina. The King is mostly a figurehead, although the King has the power to dissolve Parliament. The King frequently represents Argentina abroad.
The head of government is the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is appointed by the King upon the advice of Parliament, though in general, the King choses the leader of the ruling party as PM. The Prime Minister sets policy for the nation.
The Parliament is composed of two houses. The House of Commons is the lower house, and the origin of all legislation. The upper house is the House of Lords, which is composed of Catholic bishops, local chiefs, and hereditary and life nobles. The House of Lords is able to review and amend legislation, and can force the House of Commons to reconsider a bill, but the House of Lords cannot create legislation.

Military Info
Army: The army is composed of 45,000, plus 30,000 reserves. The army is of good quality, with Julio A. Roca having instituted reforms that improved the organization of the army. However, the army is relatively inexperienced, having not seen conflict seen Roca’s Conquest of the Desert in the 1880s and 1890s.
Navy: The navy is composed of: 3 dreadnoughts, 5 pre-dreadnoughts, 12 protected cruisers, 10 armored cruisers, 11 destroyers, and 13 torpedo boats. The Argentine Navy is strong and modern. With Argentina having just ended a naval arms race with Chile and Brazil, the Argentine Navy is one of the most powerful in South America. However, while the navy of Argentina is powerful, it is not experienced, and Argentina has not been involved in a naval conflict in decades.

Brief Description of your Economy: Having endured conflict and civil war while the rest of the world was industrializing, Argentina got a late start economically. However, upon Roca’s consolidation of power in the 1880s, the new Prime Minister set out to industrialize the nation. Incentives were offered to open factories, and with state support, railways and roads were improved. While Argentina is still only semi-industrialized, it is economically prosperous, earning a respectable amount of money through exports such as beef and wheat. In addition, Argentina has a strong infrastructure system, and has perhaps the best railway network in all of South America.
Goals: Increase national prestige, improve the condition of Argentina's poor and working classes, strengthen diplomatic relations with other countries
History: In 1780, Túpac Amaru II (who claimed to be a descendant of the last Inca emperor, Túpac Amaru), launched a revolt against the Spanish crown, rebelling against persecution of indigenous peoples by the Bourbon dynasty of Spain. Túpac Amaru II’s rebellion ultimately failed, and he was executed in 1781. However, it didn’t take long for the rebel leader to become a national hero among all peoples born in Spanish America, including Whites, Natives, Africans, and mixed-race peoples.
In 1810, in the midst of the Napoleonic Wars, Argentina refused to recognize Joseph Bonaparte as King of Spain, formed the United Provinces of South America, and sided with the Juntas that resisted the Bonapartists and instead favored the restoration of Bourbon king Ferdinand VII. Revolutionary leaders like Jose de San Martin, Manuel Belgrano, and Martín Miguel de Güemes secured control of the country, and much of Argentina became a self-governing state in all but name. However, with the ideals of the French Revolution and the Enlightenment having spread to Spanish America, many called for a total separation from the Spanish Empire.
As support for independence increased, the Congress of Tucumán was convened in the city of San Miguel de Tucumán in 1816. The goal of the Congress was to formulate a government for a new Argentine state, and to prepare a Declaration of Independence against Spain. At the Congress, Manuel Belgrano put forth the Inca plan, a proposal to establish a constitutional monarchy with an ethnic Inca at its head. While the proposal was advocated by prominent independence leaders such as Belgrano, San Martin, and de Güemes, at first, Argentine monarchists were divided on the plan, with many preferring a European royal such as the Duke of Lucca as king. However, with Ferdinand VII barring any of his family members from accepting the Argentine crown, and the possibility of a European royal as head of state decreasing everyday, monarchists rallied around the Inca plan. The vote was close, but on August 10, 1816, the Inca plan was officially approved by the Congress. A Declaration of Independence and a Constitution was written up shortly afterwards, and Argentina (known at the time as the United Provinces of South America) officially gained independence. On January 1, 1817, Juan Bautista Tupamaro was crowned King of the United Provinces as Túpac Amaru III.
However, the new nation was wracked with conflict. Secession movements arose in Uruguay (known to Argentines as Cisplatina) and Bolivia, indigenous peoples resisted Argentine authority in the western Pampas and Patagonia regions, and a long period of civil war and decentralization began as the national government in Buenos Aires competed with the provinces for power.
Finally, in 1831, Juan Manuel de Rosas rose to power as Governor of Buenos Aires, thus becoming de facto leader of Argentina (the King was always meant to be a figurehead, and the Prime Minister was unable to exert any meaningful authority). Rosas has been condemned for his authoritarian and harsh rule, instituting a totalitarian dictatorship backed by state terrorism. One of Rosas’s first acts as leader was to dissolve the United Provinces of South America, and change the name of the country to the Kingdom of Argentina. Rosas attempted to stabilize the Kingdom, but ultimately, his brutal methods meant his successes were short-lived.
It wasn’t until 1880 when Argentina was permanently stabilized. In that year, military-general-turned-politician Julio A. Roca was appointed Prime Minister by King Huayna Capac II. Roca, with the support of the army to enforce his authority, enacted a series of administrative reforms that stabilized and centralized the country. Once his power was consolidated, Roca called for a new constitutional convention, and in 1886, a new constitution was ratified that created a federal system of government along the lines of Columbia. With the country now secure, Roca launched an ambitious project of nationalism, promoting a unified Argentine identify, building new infrastructure such as roads and railways, and rallying support for his Conquest of the Desert that resulted in the subjugation of indigenous groups and the assertion of federal authority over Patagonia and the Pampas.
However, despite Roca’s reforms, Argentina was still dominated by the wealthy elite, and the vote was denied to property-less men. In the early 1900s, populist leaders such as Hipólito Yrigoyen launched new political movements to push for the extension of the franchise, which led to two short-lived revolutions in 1893 and 1905. However, in 1912, the government finally gave in, and Prime Minister Roque Sáenz Peña signed the Voting Rights Act, thus enacting universal male suffrage. The next year, citing the need to form a more representative government in accordance with the Voting Rights Act, King Pachacuti V dissolved Parliament, and called for new elections. Yrigoyen’s Radical Civic Union was swept into power, and Hipólito Yrigoyen became Prime Minister. Yrigoyen has created policies designed to alleviate the suffering of the poor and working class, but his reforms had barely begun when World War I broke out in Europe.
As the Great War begins, Argentina now weighs her options. Should she stay neutral, and keep Argentine boys out of a bloodbath an ocean away? Or should Argentina assert her might and increase her prestige by joining the fight? The next few years promise great change, and Argentina will need wise leadership in order to navigate these troubled times.

Military Info
Army:
Esercito Imperiale Italiano: 58 Divisions
The Esercito Imperiale, under the Kingdom of Italy is for what it counts advanced due to the reforms in place by the Murats, introduced from the French army following Napoleon's defeat and Murat's defection to the Alliance. The army is decently well trained for being a newly formed country. It's equipment however is generally superb after the revolution of Industry organized by the Prime Minister Gianluca Tence in 1890, with the army having adequate numbers of Guns, and field artillery to remain effective. The dominant tactic of the main force of the army is to focus on defending the alps and it's valleys from foreign invasion, especially in the Autonomous Cantons of Ticino and Grigioni.
Guardie Alpini: 62 Battalions
The Alpine guard is one of the pride and joys of the Italian Military command, being one of the most effective and well armed mountaineering troops in the world at this time. They are superbly suited to the current Italian defense strategy. The Alpini are armed well for their environments with light weight guns and mortars being some of the more common armaments. Training wise as said earlier the Alpini are arguably some of the finest mountain troops in the World.
Bersaglieri: 21 Regiments
The Bersaglieri are the Italian elite light infantry noted for on parades jogging instead of marching. Training wise they are some of the most elite troops in Italy, noted for their speed of attack and decent training. The Bersaglieri are quite well armed with Italian light weaponry and light artillery.
Arditi: 27 Units 18,000 men
A project just recently started by the Italian command staff, was the creation of Storm trooper units to punch holes in the enemies defenses if the Italian army was to go on offensive into enemy lines. These soldiers are selected due to their bravery and their ability to not be bothered by the sound of close incoming shells. They are masters of hand to hand combat and train extensively in fencing, due to their elite nature the training is superb. In the way of equipment it is intentional that they are equipped lightly and primitively typically with only a dagger, rifle and hand grenades to quickly and effectively shut down resistance in trenches. Due to their reputation for bravery and brutality and use of knives, many call them "Crazies" it is commonly thought that they were recruited from insane asylums in colloquial (At least in my experience) Italian thought.
Corpo Aeronautico Militare: 42 Squadrons
The CAM is the Italian air force, being one of the pioneers of the practice, the Italian air force currently is quite decent although the homegrown air industry is still quite weak, and most planes coming from either France or Britain. None the less training in the CAM is usually focused on defending Italian cities and or conducting small raids on the enemy. The equipment was generally french Nieuports.
Carabineri: (A fucking lot)
The Carabinieri are in a sense Gendarmes, but also provide the service of being barrier troops. As far as training goes, they are still essentially police officers with slightly increased training. Equipment wise they do need much because once again, their sole purpose in war is to build machine gun posts and defend the rear from unruliness.
Navy: (branches, number of troops, quality of navy, etc,)
8 Dreadnought Battleships
20 Cruisers
35 Destroyers
The Quality of the Italian navy grows better as time passes, as Italy begins to focus on protecting it's interests in the Mediterranean, as well as enabling it to protect it's colonies from foreign aggressors. Italy's ships are generally well made, not up to par with Great Britain, but definitely not awful. It's crews are decently well trained with it's admirals preform generally averagely.
(I'm shit with navies)

Brief Description of your Economy:
The Economy of the Empire of Italy, is a growing market with continuing industrialization providing a great deal of jobs to the new economy as well as helping to produce the goods that's the growing middle class would like to purchase. The economy is organized in a mixed way, with the Imperial state owning some of the majour industries such as the Arms and Naval production industries, but ,mostly the state relies on the Capitalist class to grow the economy. Trade is also a large portion of the Kingdom's income with Genoa,Venice and Trieste being some of the busiest ports in the Mediterranean, they have grown even larger due to imports from the colonies of new exotic materials, as well as cheap rubber and coffee.
Goals:
1.)Not die
2.) Watch Europe Burn
3.) Sneak in and steal the Adriatic
4.) Maybe if we aren't too shit, take the lands claimed in France
5.) Acquire Comrade Napoleons corpse to intern into the Pantheon in Rome (Super sekrit Muratian goal)
History:
1815: Murat decides against supporting Napoleons return from Elba, and exposes his plans to the Coalition, swaying support in favour of Murat keeping the throne in the Treaty of Vienna.
1820: Following the aftermath of the war, Murat still can see what he saw before in his prediction of Italian patriotism, in response to this, he offers a union of houses between the dominant native Italian power in the North: Sardinia Piedmont by offering his son to marry the daughter of the King in Sardinia, and the King in Sardinia's heir to marry Murat's daughter, forming the House of Savoy-Murat
1848: The Revolutions in the Italian peninsula, are funded by both of the members of the Union, in this timeline the revolutions succeeded in pushing the Austrians out of much of the Po valley as well as forcing Umbria into the hands of the Neapolitans much to the Pope's dismay. The Revolutions in the north went further than before, as the fighting spread from the Austrian controlled lands to the Swiss, as Piedmontese troops began to supply the Nationalists in Ticino and Grigioni into revolting and leaving the Swiss confederacy, joining the Union with special privileges as it held under the Swiss Confederacy, in return for the lost territory the Piedmontese would pay 3 million Lira in damages to the Swiss general council.
1849: Following this the two states, with the support of France, declare war on Austria and seize the land claimed by prominant Liberal Patriots in the Union, which included the Austrian Kingdom of Venice, and the Duchy of Trent at first, however the Italian alliance soon faired better than expected the Littoral was secured, Austria, in no position to keep fighting was forced to cede the Italian's claims to the Union.
1850: The Empire of Italy is declared in Milan, with the Archbishop crowing the new Emperor with the Iron crown and laurel leaves, symbolizing him as the heir to the Holy Roman Empire, and of the Roman Emperor's of old.
1857: The Pan-Italian railway from Aosta to Reggio di Calabria is built, by connecting the disunited states railways.
1860: The Papal States are invaded by the Empire forcing the Pope to flee inside of the Vatican and watch powerlessly as his lands are taken by the United Italy, an offer to the pope is given by the Leaders of the Emperors army which is similar to the law of guarantees which the pope quite obviously denied, following this, the Italian Empire, offered to carve the territory of the Vatican into an Independent dependency of Italy, in which the Popes would pay a meager rent to the Italian state in return being allowed to govern in independence, as well as giving the pope privileges in Italy, such as honorary Citizenship, in return, The pope would recognize the Authority of the Emperors, and recognize the gains made by the Italian state, by the treaty of Ostia Antica.
1865: Industrialist Gianluca Tence, becomes prime minister of the Italian Empire, and begins a series of reforms encouraging and subsidizing industry throughout the Empire, focusing especially on the impoverished south, Signore Gianluca also laid plans for the invasion of Libya for which he gave special subsidies to the arms industry to begin producing weapons.
1867:The Invasion of Libya begins, as the Emperor formally announces from his balcony in the Quirinal Palace a declaration of war upon the Emir of Tripoli, as to pave the way for Italian power in the Mediterranean, as well as claiming what many Italian Nationalists believed as the Birth right of Italy in Africa, the so called fourth shore, Forces began to land later in the year, quickly making work against the local militias, however the Desert could not be secured due to the lawlessness of the Bedouin tribes.
1868: To appease the Pope even more after the Treaty of Ostia Antica, the minarets of the mosques of Tripoli, Benghazi and Misurta were torn down and the mosques refaced as churches, with Italian citizens being imported to take up residences in the old bourgeoisie houses of these cities as the overclass.
1869: Construction begins on the Libyan railroad to make rule easier in the troubled part of Metropolitan Italy, in which to allow the local Carabinieri to quickly respond along the coast to threats.
1870: The Empire of Italy under the Fini cabinet declares war on the Archduchy of Austria, in an attempt to seize the Austrian littoral, which due to it's large Italian population was sought after heavily by the Nationalists. The war began with Italian forays into the hills of Gorizia which happened with minimal success from the Italians, until encouraged by Propaganda the Italian populace began to provide assistance to the Imperial army through path finding and passages unknown to the Austrian army, allowing the Italians the advantage of terrain, the Imperial Army continued to be successful until Trieste in which the army was bogged down n fighting the Austrian's in the Karst, this was due to the general lack of support from the Slovenians in pushing off the Austrian yoke, fortunately the Austrian forces broke in the late fall. Due to the gravity of the situation and the entrance of winter, which was made harsher by the Bora winds in Trieste, the Austrians and Italians entered peace talks, in which Italy would sign a Non aggression pact with Austria, Austrian would recognize the Italian claims to the Littoral and Cariniola and cede these lands, and Italy and Austria would both bay reparations for the damages.
1880: The Expedition of 1880 was launched in a strike on the Ethiopian Empire, in response to the ongoing colonization of Africa, Italian forces, numbering 100,000 were sent to secure the coast and establish supply routes, these forces were then attacked by the Ethiopian army, which was historically routed at the battle of Bannio Nuovo in which the Italian and Ethiopian armies were both heavily damage, following a lengthy war in which in finality the capital of Ethiopia was seized, the Italians offered a generous peace deal of Italy propper only seizing the Eritrean coast, while the Negus Negast of Ethiopia was to recognize his sovereign as the Emperor of the Italians, in exchange for the continued freedom to the rule Ethiopia, the Italians themselves were to help develop said country until further terms were to be agreed on.
1900:The Italian government under the orders General Afredo Levi ordered false flag movements under the banners of Greece to allow for a pretext of War to defend Italy from the Greek harassment. As such the Italian Imperial Army struck at the Greek client state of Albania, while blockading the ports of Attica in an attempts to force the Greeks to the Table. ultimately the Italian army encircled the Greeks at the Battle of Argyrokastro in which two divisions of Greek soldiers surrendered to the Italians, later leading to the occupation of the entirety of Greece. Peace although damaging was in no means harsh for Greece, which was forced into an Alliance with Italy, as well as personal Union. Greece however was to remain a completely free on the books nation, with only minor cessations of Corfu, Crete and the Dodcanese, and the annexation of Albania.
1910: Completion of the Alpine forts which began construction as a defense from both sides of the more apparent European blocs as to defend Italy's neutrality in the affairs of Continental supremacy.
