Well, an 8 would generally be like a mediocre not-quite success, if we're assuming the roll was for Ralnis. So probably the explosion went off, but didn't do as much damage as the saboteur hoped, or something along those lines.

Straus requested the roll, so the roll is for Straus. Still, it's a pretty even roll.
