Basically the operators would be keeping an area of neutral territory where no fighting is permitted, and sould also have defenses mounted should someone prove troublesome. To keep people from bumping into eachother (and therefore fighting) radio contact and pre-planned arrivals would be strongly enforced.

Basically I want to make that rogue base who is operated by the semi-shady person who will deal with just about anybody for the right price.

Naw, I'd rather keep this Ship-Oriented.

The M16A4 is in use. The M16 is in limited use in certain militaries, and almost completely gone from most modern arsenals. And really? Be realistic. No USS Constitution, or the like.

Sorry not going mainstream, especially considering the constitution is still in seaworthy condition and sails occasionally, so yeah, plus the fact the constitution requires no fuel means it's practical considering it only needs to stop for supplies and ammo, so again I'm not taking part in an RP where the OP plans to have everything uniform, so either accept my app or goodbye and I'll spread the word of your quality

First mistake, disrespecting AA.

Second mistake, arguing with AA about guns.

Third Mistake, no, it's been 80 years. No M-16s.

M16A4s fine.

M16s? No

And thank you bud.

You mean wanting to keep things realistic by not having a 221 year old ship made of wood that could be destroyed in one hit with a modern ship's gun? Because I'd rather have a few quality RPers over a few dozen one's who don't want to be realistic. You leave, fine. You start spreading the word that I'm a bad person or something like that? Then I'll go to the mods and report harassment.

Assault is a behavior. The correct term would be Battle Rifle or Combat Rifle.
And you honestly wouldn't be able to acquire them over there.

So? I prefer the M14, but I won't arm my crew with them because it wouldn't be practical to get a hold of the guns.

M1 Garands? Not used since the '60s. M16? 80s. So...no.

M16 is still in use smart one, also it's not a military vessel and not everyone on board is military, you never said we HAD to keep things hypermodern, and I don't plan to, plus there are so many Garands in existence, I see them everyday in ROTC, plus 3x06 ammunition is still one of the best out there. So I'm not changing, and I'll spread the word of how much of a jackass you are to boot

Insulting the OP, what a genius way to get accepted!

Trust me, I tried.

I've tried to compliment an OP before, but they took it as an insult. It went all downhill from there.

What you got against my oil rigs bro?

They're the only target I can plausibly attack and not get completely wrecked.

I mean, the ICGV Þór is a patrol ship. I am not going to go around challenging destroyers to a fight.

Oil rigs, on the other hand, should be easy prey. Especially if I start running low on fuel.

Blowing up oil rigs isn't a very efficient way of getting their fuel.

Oil rigs are usually not equipped to survive bombardment from 40mm shells. And your aircraft carrier can't be everywhere at once. Unless you have enough cannons to put one in every oil rig... :)

Yeah, but it wouldn't be hard to track a boat in the Gulf, when I'm an aircraft carrier.

Hmm, OP, what would be the state of the Icelandic ports around this time?

The capital Reykjavik has a truly gigantic 6-figure population (Reykjavik proper has 121,000 people and its surroundings have another 50,000).

But other than that, even big cities like Árborg (pop. 7,890), Reykjanesbær (pop. 14,500), and Akureyri (pop. 18,100, the biggest Icelandic city that isn't a glorified Reykjavik suburb) are more towns than cities by American standards. So how well did they fare compared to bigger cities in other countries?

If Akureyri or, even better, Reykjanesbær survived more or less intact (i.e. isn't smoking ruins), I'll be very interested in developing into a base where I can make some repairs and gather some supplies.
