Rache and Willow
“Mhmm,” Cloud Duster nodded along with Rache’s suggestions. “Okay, let’s go then.”

And it was that easy. No protests, no whines, no frustrated sighs and eyerolls, just instant switch of gears. Whatever plans Cloud Duster had were dropped as easily as Rache had requested them to be, and he instantly switched up direction to begin leading the group away to a new destination, flying up ahead to leave the daemon back to his lonesome. Willow, for his part, took this as a cue to drop back next to the Chaos creature.

"Rache," he ventured carefully, making sure the two past ponies couldn't hear them, as well as calculating his next words. "You're not actually thinking about bringing Pansy back to the Building, are you?"

Aegis and Yuna

"Looks about that way, Aegis," Smart Cookie sighed, then turned to her three charges. "Look, you guys don't need me to stick around here for ya. You know what you need to do. SkyWishes here can stick around to guide you, but I might as well get to working on what the Chancellor needs me to do. Don't want her breathing down our backs..."

The secretary tipped her hat and made her way back down the steps.

"If your pegasus friends come before I return, could you try to get 'em to stay here in the Chancellor's cabin for a while? I'd be a liar if I said I didn't have a few pointed questions in mind for them too..."

"We can totally do it, Smart Cookie!" SkyWishes chimed excitedly, hugging Yuna and Aegis close. "You go out and do your job, you can count on us!"

Cookie nodded sagely. "Thank ye..." she walked some steps away, stopped, and turned back at them. "And be careful." And she took up a gallop off to some unknown destination.

The magenta filly turned to the Bielefeldans. "So! Do you know a specific place where your pegasi friends are going to show up?"

Sundae was having a fantastic morning.

She hadn't expected it to be as usually it was not. In the beginning it was just like any other morning, she bundled up in her ragged quilt cloak, locked up the door to her little home, and did her best to trudge her tiny frame through the thick blanket of snow on the ground. Always a small filly, the young teen only had trouble pushing her way through the thick whiteness for a short time before she came upon a cleared path - and the villager who was clearly it. Towards her house!

The pony with the shovel gave a bright smile to Sundae.

"Did you clear this away for me?" the orange filly gasped, looking around at the pristine path.

The other citizen couldn't speak due to the shovel hand in their mouth, but they smiled even brighter and nodded. Sundae was floored.

"Thank you!" she chimed, leaping onto the clean path. The pony chuckled and waved their foreleg at her to show it was no issue, encouraging her to move along as they continued the work.

It didn't take long for Sundae to get further into town, and it didn't take long for her to hear somepony calling her name. A mare was rushing over to her with something tucked into two saddle-baskets at her side. "My dear, is that all you're wearing?" the pony lifted at Sundae's cloak with her hoof. "Unacceptable! Oh here dear one, I made these especially for you..."

"For me?" Sundae's eyes widened as she watched the mare dig through her baskets. Why, she barely even knew this pony!

Out of the baskets came the most beautiful knitted wear Sundae had ever seen! It was all made out of rainbow yarn, a rarity, filled with violets, and indigos, reds, yellows, greens, and pinks. There was a long thick scarf, four booties for her legs, and a cozy hat that covered her ears and had two little silver bells attached to the tie strings on either side. Even outside of this dreadful famine, it would all be something seen on only the richest and prettiest girls in Groundtown!

"There, that's nice and toasty, isn't it?" the mare said, tying the scarf tight around Sundae's neck and helping her with the hat and booties.

"Th-Thank you!" Sundae practically squealed, overwashed with joy at the gifts. "They're so beautiful! I-I don't know what to say!"

"Oh, it's a'nothin! We should all be the ones thankin' you now!" the pony gave an honored boy to the filly. "You were trying to warn us all along you were, and none of us ever listened. Well last night we saw what happened cause of that now, didn't we! You're a hero, Sundae. You just keep doing what you do, we're listening from now on."

A hero! Sundae nearly started crying right then. Ponies were actually listening to her? That had never happened before! She thanked the mare about three times once again before setting off her new soft winter gear, and through her trip to town, by no means had the special treatment stopped there. She found herself called over again a third time, this time to be offered freshly baked muffins and a hot drink! All chocolate flavored! Priceless! She gulped down the meal without reserve as the pony who gave it to her repeated the mare's sentiments.

"Maybe you're right about us getting too far away from our traditions," the pony told her, sighing. "I always suspected either the witches or Birds being responsible for this winter, but that monster last night - oh! I never imagined their evil would extend that far! You are our greatest asset now Sundae, you have to stay strong. Don't let anypony hold you back. May the Mother Earth be with you."

"I-I won't!" Sundae chimed brightly, feeling her heart well up with a new pride and determination.

Along the way ponies continued to shower her with praise and gifts. For years they had dealt with the girl's paranoid ravings and never given them thought, but with such wild new events and confusion swirling about, the certainty that Sundae had exuded all these years suddenly took on a new and undeniable draw. Over night, Sundae suddenly knew what she was talking about. She could barely walk five steps without somepony stopping to shake her hoof, pat her back encouragingly, or kiss her cheeks. She was given a beautiful new necklace made of colorful glass beads, intricately carved good luck charms, and a colorful woven bracelet! When the gifts became too numerous for her to carry herself, she was awarded with the most gorgeously embroidered saddlebag her eyes ever laid eyes on to pack them all it! Most graciously, she was assured several promises that she was more than welcome to join several households for a hot meal anytime she was scarce on food.

To say this was a dream come true was an understatement. Though Sundae had never doubted her own faith in her words, it has always been intimidating living in a world where nopony believed her obvious truths. But things were changing now! And if things were changing for her, that meant she could change things for everypony else too! The medicinal young mare felt herself welling up even more with confidence and pride on a level she'd never felt before. Finally, things would be done the right way!

There was no time to lose. There was a gathering being held not far from here, yes? Time to show them all what she was made of!
⟡ and in time, and in time, we will all be stars ⟡

Insidious

“Thank you Minerva,” Insidious said her skin flicker between several hues before settling on a purplish one. “I will make sure I ask him about that the next time I see him. I believe this will be a more productive use of all our time so your assistance is greatly appreciated.”

Aegis: Horse Mode Activated

Aegis nodded at SkyWishes. “Ay, there is a field out back which we placed a large number of sticks and wood in to create a shape which our friends might recognize. It should look like nothing from the ground but those above should be able to discern its meaning.”

He began walking towards the door and motioned for the others to follow him. “Although we should go and make sure the snow hasn’t covered too much of it. Care to join us SkyWishes? Also do you know who's house this might be? I would hate to intrude on someone's property unless i’m absolutely sure their not using it.”

THE DINING ROOM

Luce regarded Minerva and Insidious thoughtfully. It seemed the conversation had come to an end, and he was primed to find the others. To be sure, though, he considered it helpful to catch up completely.

"Is there more to be discussed? I feel rather behind the times, having been confined to my rooms for a long time." He sipped his tea carefully. "I was aware of the orcs' visit, and the trip to the blacksmith's that Chrys joined. Have I missed anything else?"

Elevators simplified the tour, but there were in fact stairwells.  If Otokano thought they were old-looking and windy, that's probably how they'd be for her.  Nick himself perceived them as well-lit and plushly carpeted, with concave banisters perfectly sized for sliding.  When, that was, he was using the stairs.

In the communal gathering room, he mewed in excitement, reaching over with a paw.  An image of a hallway with blurry blue and green wallpaper - and a shut door marked 7D - flashed for a fraction of an instant, as did greyed-out faces.  <You're pr - oops -> "Sorry, I just got excited!  You're one door down from me - our neighbors are cool!  Follow me!"

Trotting back to the elevator with a few glances towards his new neighbor, Nick hit 7.  "Bielefeld was interesting, but so is Gallimaufry.  I've visited the village a few times, mostly because - oh, here's the floor I was telling you about.  Volunteers seem pretty welcome, especially if they're willing to lear -"  Nick heard a ding.  "We're here!  Welcome to our floor, new neighbor!"

Nick decided that "my apartment is pretty small - I can show it to you quickly?"  Taking a rubber-dipped silver key out of his scarf, he did something to the door, which swung open.  The high-ceilinged apartment was perfect for a cat, who could snuggle all over the bed, climb the walls, or creep through the passageways honeycombing said walls...

Otonako, however, would see a room resembling a square box turned on its end, with walls of large bricks.  The color they were painted might seem familiar; she'd figure out why if she glimpsed Nick's eyes.  The floor was apple green vinyl - over, perhaps, rubber foam?  It was a little springy underfoot, though not usable as a trampoline.

Although the door bumped against the wall and didn't open a full 180°, it was of standard size.  Once inside, Otonako would be able to see a greyed wood door, with not only a pull ring and deadbolt at Nick's height but also a knob at hers, all chartreuse metal.

Over half of the back of the room was taken up by a mattress.  Half a foot tall and seven feet square, it had a turquoise fleece cover and did, in fact, make a much better trampoline than the floor.  If Otonako wished to sit for a moment, she would find that there was half a foot of room on the three "wall" sides. Smaller, pillow-like square pads occupied the left corner of the mattress, each three inches tall and half the size of the one below.  Clambering to the highest, one and a half feet off the ground, the cat looked out his narrow, tall window.

Did he look sheepish all of a sudden?  "Er, see you in a minute!"  With that he tore towards the door before taking a very sharp left and seeming to vanish into the wall.   About that much later he emerged, pausing in front of the bed.

"I wonder what happened to him..."  There was a rectangular hollow in the wall, holding a sand statue.  If Otonako looked closely, she might deduce that Nick's musings were likely not directed towards the subject - it was a cat on a pedestal, possessing features (such as a noticeably large head) possessed by Nick himself and (excepting its skinniness) of equal size.

The corners of the room were adorned with bricks, alternating left and right, which jutted half a foot out of the wall; a pristine food bowl sat in the corner nearest the doorknob, that is right from the perspective of an entrant.  The feline glanced over.  "Maybe I should start using that for food.  Anyway, let's check out your new apartment!"

Nick had not been kidding about being one door down. 7D was adjacent. "And after that, we'll see if any of our neighbors are at home! Or before that if you'd rather..." They had time. The longest part of 7B's tour had been the cat's bathroom break.

Otonako looked around the room. If she had imagined what a cat's room would look like, it would be something like this- obviously.

"Would you mind if we checked out my apartment first? I'm kind of excited to see it," she asked him rhetorically. The cat nodded and they went in.

"Wow, this is um..." Otonako gasped. The floors were carpeted purple and the walls had been painted white. She had a desk in one corner with a white clamp lamp and a black shiny wardrobe in the alternate corner. Her bed had bright scarlet sheets and navy blue pillows. Overall, it looked very much like a student's bedroom however...

"Oh my... No it isn't... But it is! No it can't be!" There surrounding the walls were a tonne of Thirteenth Girl Dead posters and posters from other bands which inspired her to make her music. "No way! They're all here! This is even better than my old place!" She almost shouted, running over to touch them all. "They're real, but how?" She thought. She hadn't noticed the biggest surprises yet though.

"My God. Sorry, excuse my language, it's just..." The album was sitting on her desk. "How did that even... I mean... I don't..." She picked it up and hugged it to her chest, "We recorded this! This is our album! Hold on a sec..." She put the album down for a second and ran over to the wardrobe.

It had a whole fresh band uniform in it, several band t-shirts, black trousers, a hoody, trainers and a dress that she saved for special occasions. "Jeez, my entire wardrobe is in here. Wait, is that...?" There was a new black case for her guitar at the bottom of the wardrobe.

She ran over and picked up the cat, whirling him round until it looked like his eyes were about to pop out of his head.

"Sorry," she apologised, "It's just that this room is more perfect than anything else I possibly could have imagined." Her hair didn't even know what to do with itself now, it was kind of blue and kind of red then just a deep purple (her natural hair colour) and back again. She sighed, she could get used to this.

Nick pawed at the air in shock, managing to hit Otonako's arm.  She'd feel his surprise and slight indignation, followed by - amusement?  <Hey, this is ->

Well, I was going to say it was fun.
Jumping atop whatever variety of coverlet was on the bed, he began licking his ruffled fur back into place.  Maybe I could talk her into a few more rounds sometime - a bit slower.

"It's a nice room," if seeming a little grayer than Nick liked, "But since it is just a room, you'll use the communal kitchen and dining room for meals like I do..."  He watched the young woman continuing to look around.  "Do you want to talk about them?"

While not doing so would be fine, much of the room seemed to hold some memories for Otonako; that and not thinking to were why he hadn't referred to "them" more specifically. "Okay, maybe later. Let's visit Kale!"

He led her across the hall, and started to meow. "You might want to knock?"

"Hai" Otonako said in Japanese, she'd watched some anime before so she picked up some of the words, which she used occasionally. She felt it was fair enough as her name was Japanese, why not learn a little more about the culture?

She knocked the door very softly. She could feel Nick's eyes on her and an unbearably awkward silence. She rapped it again, harder and waited for the door to open. "Do you think I knocked hard enough?" She asked him, "Maybe I should try doing it again?"

The young eighteen year old musical magic user had a sense of nervousness in her purple eyes. She clutched her guitar- which she hadn't left in her room- close to her as her hair turned a deep electric blue. She was a nice girl with a complicated background and a difficult past.

Her cousin Forako had moved, along with her and their parents, to Mexico when they were babies, after they were asked to leave England due to their usage of magic. Their parents didn't last very long after that- Forako was the only family Otonako had left. The pair more or less raised each other, however Forako recently died in a magic war. Otonako hadn't been able to save him or talk about him since then for that matter.

After the war was over, she had set out with Aquario (a.k.a Paul Rowans) who had saved her life, to find her friends, Kinaka, Reina, Saya and Rya, who were in a band called Thirteenth Girl Dead with her.

Now she was here putting her past behind her and hoping she could find her friends again at some point in the future.

She tried knocking the door again...

A rumble and a loud THUD could be heard from within Kale's apartment, followed by an audible 'Owwww', like someone falling out of a chair. Footsteps followed soon after, getting louder to the door, and then the doorknob twisted and the door opened, revealing the one inside.

The plant girl Kale stood before the open doorway. Her green hair was held back with a high curled ponytail. A variety of small colorful wildflowers are stuck throughout her hair, giving it the look of a colorful green field. Instead of being wrapped in silk, the plant girl was clad in leather clothing of her tribe. Dirt and grass marks marked various parts of her attire, created from her work. This was her getup for the past months, working out in the field, the greenhouse, and wherever else she was needed.

The girl was rubbing her hips a bit, definitely from the fall. Her face turned to a look of surprise, looking at the purple haired girl standing in front of her. But that look turned into a welcoming smile. "Hello there! Are you a new arrival?" Kale said in a calm tone.

Otonako smiled, "Yeah. Sorry I knocked so many times! My name is Otonako by the way."

The girl's hair was crazy...and Otonako liked it. "Finally, I thought I was the only one with weird hair around here!" Aloud, she said,

"Nice hair girl!" Otonako noticed the girl's pain, "Are you alright? That crash was pretty loud."

Behind the scenes Otonako was thinking about Kale's get-up, "Some sort of plant related magic? I'm sure someone back in Mexico had a similar ability... What did he call it now? Nope, can't remember..."

She looked back at Kale again, ready for an answer.

Kale smiled. "Thank you," she said, giggling a bit. The wildflowers growing around here were too beautiful to pass up. She had taken up growing them in her house, using them as natural accessories. "Oh, I took a small fall out of my chair. Didn't expect someone to come knocking on my door. But I'm okay. I'm sort of a klutz anyways," Kale said.

The girl looked around, seeing if there was anyone else. Her eyes peered down, noticing Nick. "Hello there Nick! Showing her around?" Kale said, then looking back to Otonako as if she forgot something, "Oh! almost forgot. My name is Kale. Nice to meet you!"

Nick sat up proudly. He'd been a little miffed not to be mentioned, but of course that would happen. He was tiny; Kale hadn't expected him. "I am! She's next door to me and across the hall from you, so..." His nose twitched. "You've been doing something with plants?" Not that that would be a surprise. "Remember when you got here? I almost puked on you!" In hindsight it was really funny. "What have you been up to? I've been spending some time helping with the hospital." Arguably a tiny bit condescendingly, he yet again reminded Otokano, "That's on the fifth floor."

Kale gave a smile to Nick. The memory was years ago, but one she could recall. Back then, Nick was just a talking cat, but now he was way more than that. "Oh, I've busied myself with planting of all sorts. Most of the stains come from replanting the meadow. A couple acres had to be replanted." She monitored the field closely, from the day they were planted to when the first few sprouts were coming up. She was quite happy with her work. Garrus would be proud for sure. "I've also been working in the hydroponics as well. It's different than any traditional gardening I've done before, but I was happy to learn how. I've also been cultivating some plants of my own here, all of them local to this area," Kale said,"They are by the windows. You can come in and see. Unless you two are busy. Don't want to be too much of a bother to y'all."

OPERATION: SUPPLY RUN
DIMENSION: 270B
LOCATION: HD 40307 g

The databall had little else to display. It offered some bearings, though those were based off navigation from Earth, with the planet orbiting star HD 40307, itself part of the Pictor constellation. Their targeted supplies weren't too far away, though the databall updated the information to include a gridded map. The canisters were located in a metallic structure of some sort, and the structure itself appeared on the map as a series of small rectangles - possibly a main building with several small outbuildings clustered around it.

Buttons, who was too large to fit in the pipe, offered a series of grunts in response to General's request as she tucked herself tightly against the wall in search of a scrap of shelter under the pipe's lip.

"She suggests we wait out the storm," Nila translated, "because she senses the clouds thinning from the direction its coming from." The construct scratched her ear as she considered what else the exo had grumbled about. "And we need to keep our eyes up instead of at the ground, because she senses very large things moving in the vegetation between us and the place things are at."

Her eyes settled on Sozewe. "I agree. This place is very odd, and I don't have a good feeling about it." The construct wasn't force sensitive. Had she been, she would have picked up on what both Sozewe and Maghrl had: the green places beyond the pipe were teeming with life. For Maghrl, a creature that was already accustomed to being small in a world dominated by larger things, there was an added sense of foreboding. There wasn't anything evil here, but everything here was aggressive and wild.

A loud splash sent Button's sensors into overdrive. The exo swung her head towards the sound as she uncurled her body.

There in the water no more than twenty feet away, a dark form thrashed. It was barely perceptible between the thinning drops. Smaller than the exo, but still much larger than Romy, it looked for all the world as though it were drowning in the small, shallow pond formed by the river.

LOBBY

"Klaus would be your best choice first, after stopping by your apartment and using your key," Volker pointed to the object, "But Klaus will be impossible to find. I suggest you try Deuce. He might be roaming in search of Kale, or else gone to the village. I'll leave a message for him in his mailbox. You might also try Giovenith."

Volker gave the next question some thought. They'd had a rash of artificial life come in. It was best to get them all networked with the same group. "But maintaining robots? For that, you need to visit the warren. Take the elevators back down here, then take that door marked 'maintenance'. Down the hall, down the stairs, down that hall. Second door on your right. Tech priests."

DINING ROOM

"You're welcome," the cultist leader offered a cheerful smile to Insidious. She raised a brow at Luce. "That depends. Were you here when Demens arrived, or were you in meditation? That day was a right cock-up, and I didn't do a head count once the meeting began. If you weren't there, Insidious could fill you in. The story will take a while to tell, and I've still got to write up a report for this morning retrieval."

She shrugged at Insidious, "Though I won't be going far. The dining room is much nicer than my dreary quarters."

RACE AND WILLOW

"Take her back to the Building?" the thought hadn't occurred to Rache. He had meant only that Pansy would accompany them once they left the city. But this opened up a whole new avenue for the tiny mare. How badly would her departure affect the timeline? Ah, but that was the main question, and the daemon-pony knew the answer. Rache had no intention of changing things too drastically. It was best of Pansy remained.

Small clouds sprang from Rache's nostrils to hang in the cold morning air as he shook his head. "She'll come with us out of the city. But we can't risk removing her from history. Not unless we knew without a doubt that she was destined to die shortly after the main event takes place."

AEGIS AND YUNA

"I- I have an idea, sort of," Yuna's ears flicked shyly. While she didn't know where Rache was, and wasn't trained enough to sense him properly, she had a feeling he'd let her know when he was getting close.

She considered all she had learned of the cultists while staying with Will and working with John. It made sense that Rache, being a daemon, wouldn't depart too far from their ways. "They might stay close to shadows to avoid trouble," she suggested. The morning chill nipped at her skin, causing her to shiver. "What are your plans?"

Eh, good enough for now.

The General put the databall away for now, keeping it in a compartment inside his armor. He agreed with the exo that it'll probably be best if they stayed for a little while longer, his suit's power should still be fine by the time they get back to moving. And with the added mention of beasts moving in the vegetation between them and their target, it was advisable that they try to keep a low profile as much as they can, they were only after supplies after all. Still though, he felt an urge of something close coming nearby through his anticipation. He assumed the worse.

Splash!

Romulus quickly brought his autocannon-clad wrist to bear towards the direction of the distinct sound from the rain. He could faintly hear some additional thrashing in the water with the dark form in it, though he could still barely tell much from what it was, other than it was bigger than he was. This wasn't good at all, though he knew it was surely inevitable for this mission. His hand griped the hilt of his blade, ready to pull it out once the form started to approach them. Though he still didn't want to waste any effort to kill it if it could be avoided, he had hoped that it'll just move on to somewhere else.

"Everyone keep quiet! If it moves in to attack us, we'll just spring out of here and dispatch it. But lets just see what it'll try to do first, remain vigilant." He said in a hushed voice to his team members, autocannon still raised at the creature.

OPERATION: SUPPLY RUN
DIMENSION: 270B
LOCATION: HD 40307 G
TEAM: Delta

Strange world, and it made Maghrl feel all the smaller with its immense scale. But that long since was something Maghrl had grown used to. He'd seen Coruscant before its devastation, and that dwarfed any jungle on even this strangely scaled world. Either way, the jungle teeming with life both made the Jedi wary and comfortable. A strange feeling, but common for Jedi. It was dangerous after all, but in the presence of such bountiful life it teemed with the power of the Force. Life was such a wonderful feeling, especially natural, unordered life like here. The Squib smiled faintly, relaxing a bit as he glanced around once more.

Then of course, came the splash.

Maghrl froze for a moment, before spinning to face whatever it was with lightsaber drawn, but not ignited. No reason to kill whatever this was if they could instead scare it off, or even let it pass peacefully. Though the squib's brow knitted as he noticed its apparent struggle in the pool. So strange. Was it in trouble? Drowning? He had no idea, but felt he should try to help in some way.

The squib shut his eyes and focused on the creature not 20 feet away. Trying to get a sense of what it might be and if it posed any danger before going ahead with his plan. Sosewe would likely be able to feel what he was intending to do, as he tried to impart some messages onto the being's mind. A simple mind trick meant to direct its actions. The Squib attempted to give it a sense of calm, ease, and safety, not unlike that of a mother's presence. Of course, he did also impart a little nudge away from their hideout. Why not get two mynocks with one stone after all? If it wasn't very bright, especially not sapient, it shouldn't be so hard to get it to do a simple thing as 'get out of the puddle and leave'.

Sakarias smiled and nodded. "Well I suppose this Klaus will have to find me then. If you know him please tell him to come visit me sometime. I'd be more than happy to host him at my room once I get settled. I'll go look for this Deuce first though, shouldn't be too hard to find. Nor those 'Tech Priests'. Whatever that means." The synth shrugged and smiled, giving a polite nod to the front desk worker. It was only then he noticed the others had left, and he blinked in surprise. Well, at least he'd overheard where they were going more or less? He could find his room later anyway.

"Oh, seems I was left behind. I'll go catch up with this tour them, I suppose." He smiled at Volker and gave him a small bow as thanks before trotting off with violin case tucked under his arm.

Sakarias chose the stairs, stopping off on each floor to try to find them before heading up another one, noticing all sorts of people as he went further up. Such a strange place! Oh they had a hospital looking floor? Makes sense, got to have a proper medic area after all. When he reached the proper floor, he peaked out of the stairwell and glanced around. He finally saw the colorful haired girl and the cat, along with some new girl. Oh, interesting! He strode over, and gave the person he hadn't met before a polite nod. "Nice to meet you, I'm Sakarias Viitanen. Sorry about my appearance, I've been looking into getting patched up but its horribly difficult to find the proper materials."

"I'm sure we have time?" Otonako looked to Nick for an answer, hoping she could see the plants, then she spotted Sakarias.

"Did you get here ok?" She asked him. Now that he mentioned it, he did look like he could do with a bit of mechanical work. She did know that Forako used to...no, it wasn't of any use to her, not unless she had the tools.

She looked back to Nick again, "Come on buddy, please, I love looking at plants!"

In front of 7E
Why did she keep looking at - oh!  Nick stood, tail near-vertical and curving. "Y - hi, Sax - Scarys - Socceras - um, 'new neighbor.'  This is Kale, who controls plants, likes plants, and whose plants we're about to look at...you're welcome to come, right Kale?  And yes, Oh-toh-nah-ko, of course we can go in. I'm not busy today."

The feline, with a twitch of his tail, followed Kale into her apartment.

Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.

Kale look at the new 'man' that arrived behind the other two, intrigued by his appearance. Was he a robot, a cyborg of some kind? She met many people ever since moving to the building, but a fully mechanical man was something she didn't expect. "You're all welcome inside. Step right in and follow me," Kale said, going deeper into her apartment.

Near the large windows of her apartment stood several red-colored pots of various shapes and sizes, each with a type of flower growing in it. There were about ten varieties, each different from the other. One was a three-petaled flower with a yellow center, the flower forming the triangle if you trace the tips from one to the other. Another was a bright red prairie clover, growing up in a tight bunch. One pot contained a flower with fused sky-blue petals similar to a Cupflower. One pot contained a Coneflower with red and yellow petals cycling around the flower with no two petals of the same color being next to each other. One look similar to a Daisy except the center was a deep black instead of a yellow, giving the appearance of an eye, which seemed to follow and "look" at the group. Another was a violet star-shaped flower with a long pink lip like an orchids. One plant had tube-shaped flowers with bright yellow stigma that poked out of the flower periodically. Another plant looked like a Calliopsis but each flower had a different color, ranging from bright reds to dark blues and all in between.

"And this one looks like a four-leaf clover with golden leaves, but if you look closely, you can see a fused stigma and stamen organ barely poking out the middle. And underneath are the leaves," Kale said, gently brushing aside some of the golden clovers to show the dark green leaves underneath. "The next one is my favorite," Kale said, moving to the last plant. The plant was odd. It had no flowers, the stalks topped with dark bulbs. "Despite what it looks like, this plant does have flowers," Kale said, pointing to one of the bulbs, "This plant has very small fibrous hairs around the bulbs, too small to see but can be felt. When you start touching the hairs..." Kale moved her finger closer to one bulb, feeling some of the small hairs. Instantly the bulb changed, opening up and revealing a red-violet six petal star-shaped flower with a central tube flower poking up from the center. "The outer petals are like a shell for the inner flower. It's very fascinating. And, if you take your hand away," Kale said, lowering her hand. The outer petals closed back up around the central flower, reforming the bulb like before. "The flower closes up," Kale said, looking to the others, "These are just some I found around the prairie and near the forest. The villagers tell me there are even more fantastical and magical flowers out there."

"Oh, its pronounced like Zacharias is in English, but with a soft S sound, Nick. Nice to meet you Kale, and.... Oh...." Sakarias' jaw dropped as he stepped into the room following the group, his height letting him see pretty much everything without anything in the way. But he was almost startled by the.... greenery and colors in her room. So many vibrant, beautiful shades and plants, all over the place! HE had never seen anything so beautiful and bright and... Alive!

"Oh... Oh my god..." He said once again, absolutely stunned by the plants, flowers, and weird flora. Wait, these were from this area? He hadn't actually looked outside, and naturally had assumed this place was as barren as his home, or at least as sickly. "I've not seen flowers in so long, at least not ones as beautiful as these!" He said, leaning towards the sky-blue flower and marveling over it like a man who hasn't seen something ever before or at least as someone who hasn't seen something for ages. "Last time I saw a flower must have been before the war... At least a living flower."

The synth smiled, little mechanic whirring going along with the motions he was making as always. He looked absolutely ecstatic to be seeing something properly alive such as this. He sighed, before straightening up and grinning. "Its so refreshing to see living things! Especially ones that aren't sick and dying slowly."

Watching Anais' actions and correlating them with their somewhat-offset descriptions, Rmwtyliin noted the care with which the task was performed.  It was a little odd how Anais, placing her bowl back on the line, stared at it as though examining something - rather spooky, when Rmwtyliin realized that she probably was.  I see nothing - but something is there.  Almost reflexively she backed away, then stepped forward as Anais stood.  In Fvaarniimarn, she quietly repeated,  "Move the plant bowl, move the shell bowl, move that link," tracing paths and shapes in the air. Quieting, she attempted to nicely shush Duncan, the apparent-naked-mole-rat who translated for her, as the mage started to explain that Rmwtyliin wouldn't necessarily be the one helping in that manner but being aware wouldn't hurt.

Anais wanted to know how her training had been going? Rmwtyliin shoved a cylinder of paper which she'd been scribbling on into a skirt pocket. (Duncan was occupying the one in her muted green shirt.) "I already knew a few details, like pressing wounds which bleed, but a lot of what was said was new. There are lots of diseases not recognized in my time although some symptoms sound familiar, and a weird position you put someone in to help them recover if it is okay to move them! We practiced some situations as well."

"I also work on my own. My guardian -" she spit out the word angrily, belatedly hoping that this slip would be covered by Duncan's translation - "Suggested that I try to learn what the medicines here are.  They are strong, and I lacked familiarity with many foreign herbs anyway.  Medicines apparently can interact!  That is bad.  Tiny creatures can get into wounds." She shivered, although her outfit was decently suited to the ambient temperature.  "Boiling supplies or wiping with -" she switched languages.  "Dihsnfectnd -" she returned to Fvaarniimarn.  "Is very important to forestall that."

Glancing nervously at the circle, the gregarious girl continued.  "I - I should try moving the three links now so you can correct me if I do it wrong, without worrying about patients."
[OOC: General info on nature of training is courtesy of Slobo]

"That's excellent to hear," Anais commented with sincerity and a tinge of relief to hear of Rmwtyliin's progress in triage. Anais had relied on home remedies and holistic treatments before utilizing her magical powers to heal when she was younger. Magic was now her main way of treating everything from ailments to injuries and it had been nostalgic having to take a more hands on approach when the healers came together.

"Of course, you certainly may," the ritualist smiled with a polite nod and gestured to the bowl of dried fruits and herbs near her feet as she moved away from the ward. She indicated the three in order just in case, "Remember to place it back in the order I mentioned."

Otonako was astounded. She'd never seen so many beautiful flowers together in the one place before. Mexico had its moments but this single apartment blew its plants out of the water. They all looked perfect and they made the room so much prettier. The colours of them were so bright that it was like a rainbow had flown over them all.

"Wow," she gasped, "this is amazing." She hadn't seen many flowers that weren't weeds since the war had finished- they destroyed them all in battle and then quite a large part of their journey had involved being on a boat. "These are awesome, Kale, I wish I could grow plants like this."

She trailed off a little as she spotted a bright red flower. It looked very delicate and it had a sweet smell that wasn't too strong. She gently stroked the petals.

She thought, "Please just leave me here in this bliss." Her thought made her smile outwardly.

"It's always good to know that you've got nice neighbours."

The blue flowers, green leaves, and intriguing shapes were interesting enough...but what Nick really wanted do to was smell the flowers. He informed Kale of this, and upon being told whether there were plants he should avoid or which might delight him, took big whiffs of several nearby...

Insidious: Dining Room

“I was only their for part of it to be honest,” Insidious admitted “and afterwards I was more focused on locating Aegis but Primordial gave me vague description of what happened.”

Insidious skin changed to more whitish hue covered in scampering red spiders.

“But perhaps if you specified what parts you were vague about I could better know where to begin. Because a lot has happened in a very short span of time.”

Aegis: Doing a Mr. Ed impression in the snow

“That a very smart idea Yuna,” the steel colored pony said as he exited the house “You think we should maybe comb the woods and see if they've left some sort of clue?”

Kale had a wide smile on her face. She was happy the people appreciated the flowers. Finding the seeds and raising them from small sprouts to full bloom, no magic required, was a challenge. "Thank you~!" she said in a jolly tone. What a way to start a day, Though, one thing did intrigue her. Sakarias and Otonako's reactions were... odder. It was like they never saw a real flower before, like it was their first time. What worlds did they come from? Places with no flowers, no plant life, like barren grey wastes? It was a sad thought. Could places like that really exist though? Strangely, she felt she had seen a place like that before, but she could barely recall.

She turned to Nick, who asked about the scents. "Oh, they all smell fine. Well, most. The daisy looking one smell like.... bacon grease... Ugh," Kale said, a bit disgusted, "But the others smell a lot better. My favorite is the Rainbow Calliopsis. The scent corresponds with color. Bright yellow smells like a lemon, while crimson smells like cinnamon sugar."

The Synth continued smiling, glad that his creators had given them a proper sense of smell. While not quite like a humans they'd figured out a way to wire it to act the same to the synthetic brains synths possessed. "It's wonderful. Kale was it? Its a pleasure to meet you as well. My name's Sakarias, though you probably overheard my name a bit ago." The synth smiled and held out a hand for her to shake. His grip would feel strange, a bit unnatural but surprisingly like skin. Whatever the compound that made up his outer shell was, it was remarkably close to making a synthetic version of skin apparently.

"Sorry about that reaction. Haven't seen so many flowers in ages. Most are dead or sickly where I come from."
