I may have her carry a sword as well for more insane "drive me closer" scenarios. Fresh out of the academy, nicely indoctrinated and completely battlefield untested. Ready to die for her country. Likely to be more than a little racist. Heh.

Does it include shorts and burumas that don't reach the Unit? We know from canon that hakamas that don't reach are practically standard issue in the Imperial Fusō Army.

Nothing against tights, as far I as I see. I mean, I'm a little spiffy on the manga (only read a bit here and there), but in the anime, Perrine wore tights.

Pants, on the other hand? Not that I know of, but skirts should be fine.

Biography: Noriko was born to a military family with a long tradition of warfare. Her ancestors were Samurai, her grandfather fought the Orussians, her mother fought in the First Neuroi War, her father fought there and is still fighting in Shenzhou, and both of her brothers are in the Navy. One, at least, with the other at the bottom of the ocean. Since childhood, she had been taught to defer to authority and follow all directions without question, and was already expected to become some kind of soldier in the service of the Empire. Her being a Witch was not only expected, it was required, and her late development nearly caused her to be considered a dishonour to the family. She was promptly sent into the military for training once her abilities manifested. In training, she tended to overcompensate, always hitting the target a little too many times, flying a little bit too fast, and completing mock missions a little too effectively, often with her ending up in the sick bay. Training officers believed her combat style and attitude were too dangerous for frontline combat, but her devotion to the Empire and her family background was noticed by some pencil-pushing higher-ups (plus some machinations by numerous, heavily-decorated members of the Tanaka family), leading to her deployment regardless.

Personality: Very quiet and focused, rarely engages in social activities. Generally defaults to higher authority and by-the-book procedures; helpless in unorthodox or unplanned situations. Encapsulates herself (usually with books) even when around others. In combat, dangerously aggressive with little regard for her own or others' safety, with a victory-at-all-costs attitude that may override her need to follow orders.

Moral Alignment: Lawful neutral

Likes: The Empire of Fuso. The Emperor. Clear instructions, orders or directions. Donburi. Cold Soba. Books. Fascinated with Chinese culture. Good shogi player.

For instance, neuroi small type will be instant kill, a huge chunk of damage on a medium type, and a large hole on a large type.

Biography:

Wiryo Yin is a girl of Shenzhou descent, born in the family well-off merchants and scholars in Medan. Always doted by her parents, she has the best of everything the girl could ask for. And she loves reading. Living a happy childhood, Yin grew into a sweet-hearted and very intelligent girl which has made good friends from all walks of life. And one day, she has fallen in love with her childhood friend Ardi, a Javanese peasant boy in her family’s employ as a servant. Ardi, also in love with her, gave Yin a gift she never forgets – a silver, crescent pendant. Since then, they promised to marry each other when they grow up.

But one fateful day, on the tender age of 12, she was visiting her relatives with her parents and Ardi for a reunion at the village in the middle of Sumatra. But the village got attacked by a medium type Neuroi. In the midst of panic, Yin was separated from the group and cornered by the neuroi itself. Out of fear and desperation, she tried pushing away the neuroi with her hands when it about to crush her with the leg. But to everybody’s shock, the neuroi dissipated and disintegrated into nothing! What’s more surprising to her family that she has tiger ears and tails! A familiar they figured, everyone can tell Yin has magical powers - a true witch. Later, the Allied soldiers from Britannia and Netherlands have arrived at the scene on time; it seems safe for a day in the village. What may suppose to be a joyous occasion, her family and the villagers were suddenly gunned-down by the Allied soldiers. Yin remembered Ardi took her hand and ran as far as they can. Unfortunately, they got caught up by the Allied soldiers. Forcibly separated from her love and traumatized from the deaths of her family, her world she knew have turn upside down forever. Yin also remembered she never seen her beloved Ardi again ever since.

The Allied troops who’re responsible for her families’ deaths turned out to be a joint Britannian-Dutch research corps with a notorious reputation for human experimentations on their test subjects who tends to be from various colonial domains. Taken to the secret Dutch laboratory base in one of the Sumatran islands, the sadistic Allied scientists performed experiments on her for two years. Yin was tortured, drugged and humiliated like a guinea pig! She had little-to-no idea how long she has suffered. All poor Yin can do is pray that her sufferings to come to the end. According to her scientist captors, the goal of the experiment was supposed to be ‘testings’ her powers for results. And they ‘believed’ torturing Yin can bring out her powers and help mass-produce witches based on her rare magical ability. Before they experiment on her any further, the laboratory base is attacked by the neurois. Finally breaking free out of her prison, Yin took advantage of the confusion and chaos to escape into the jungle.

She ran for days until her body is tired from malnutrition as well as energy spent on running. Feeling despairs, Yin gave up and decided to die where she stands, gradually losing her resolve to live. But the poor girl was found and saved by village men whom they’ve nursed her back to health. And surprisingly for her, it turns out these ‘village men’ are members of Nusantaran Pro-independence group. Eventually, Yin has become attached to them. For her, they’re her new family.

Ever since that day, she joins the newly-formed Gerbang Sutera, as a volunteer and trained as a Strike Witch to fight for her birth country’s freedom. If only it’s to get away from her past and her Colonial captors altogether. Most importantly, Wiryo Yin owes her debt to the Nusantaran independence movement for saving her life. But her grudge against the white men isn’t settled, because of her traumatic past. Will she be able to overcome her animosities and her fears? Time will tell. The memories of her captors’ massacring her family still haunted her.

Personality: An aloof cynic with a penchant for sarcasm. And she kept many people at distance. Deep down, she’s still a kind-hearted girl who hates injustices. She’s just hiding her real self behind the tough exterior. But she has bottled up all her fears and anger underneath her facade. Yin is a tsundere in other words~.

I've posted in 1A, trying to be as tenuous as possible with background NPCs because I'm not sure if I can create any named, briefly-existing NPCs. The flight is five minutes away to avoid skipping past at least some holding out actions by the currently-existing players.
