I didn't think to base my character on a real soldier.

Although someone based on "Mad Jack" would be hilarious. The man wore a Scottish Highlander uniform and led his troops with a broadsword and longbow...and actually fought with those weapon. He even captured a bunch Germans by charging them with his sword and scaring them so badly that they surrendered.

Scots, man. Scots are badasses.

Josephine is based on old Radetzky. Which should be obvious.
The only first name, that didn't make it, was Wenzel, but I doubt, that this one as a female equivalent.
And yes, he is from the Coalition Wars and the 19th century.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot about Haselmayr. He is a historical person, commanding officer of the 2. Division from March 1st, 1934 to the Anschluss four years later. He became a Lieutenant General in the Wehrmacht. I can't find anything about what he did during WW2, but he died 1950. His full name actually was Theodor Haselmayr, Edler von Fernstein, so he was of noble birth as well.
His pic is Field Marshal von Böhm-Ermolli (hence the subtitle).
