Mmm, Cer. Torii and Drova are in the kitchen, not the dining room (for years, I just assumed that they were separated by a small partition)

It's separated by the long counter. That's how Septimus was able to cook while Minerva and others grouped around the dining room side of the counter, and how people in the kitchen were able to listen in to planning during the Drone invasion.

The kitchen is much larger and much deeper than above. A curtain wall runs overhead, making it more isolated. Thus the kitchen is its own room yet allows for conversation between both rooms.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

English assignment, while half-baked, is done. Just going to see if I can get peers to critique on the writing, see what I can improve on though my subdued headaches and sickness and whatnot... That is for tomorrow.

Right now I will focus on writing a post for Lucius and Superbia at the moment.

As you wish. If we can get them all together now, Sandy will happily make plans. And if not, he'll call a meeting for them later.

Swith loves nonsense verse and Carroll's work. Some of it's woven into Galli. She challenged me to use a poem in my post and wrap it into the theme for later use. Challenge accepted.

Our last epic nation adventure involved The Hunting of the Snark (An Agony in 8 Fits). Members in our group played people from our nations that had vague similarities to nine characters in the poem, with Swith's nation providing the Snark/Boojum. It's also why her national animal was a bandersnatch once upon a time. The creature caused the poem's Banker to lose his sanity.

Dude, if we're the oysters, we're fucked. :p

I should put the bandersnatch back as the animal.

Also waiting for some more exposition in the IC before I respond to anything. I mean I could do something now, but waiting a bit more is probably better, because I can't really think of anything for it right now.

Not feeling well. Going to bed. Will likely reply within 16 hr. If anything really notable happens staff have permission to pp my chars to move them. If post rate speeds up exponentially others can pp to move them along or unfreeze their chars.

Goodnight.

Waiting on Swith to wrap up a post, then we'll move on. I'd like to pick up the pace this weekend. Torsi's heading out in a few days.

This is his call: Torii participates on the Building Manager quest. One final upbeat and odd adventure before he goes. This will tie in to a reason his characters depart a while. Part of it will be surreal and silly and allow Tora a chance to protect her friends. Posts will not need to be elaborate.

I'd like to keep it narrowed down to only a few characters. Giovenith serves as guide. Itum serves as the rep. Neste tags along as protection for him. Torii goes because she was part of the original group. Marcus goes because Giovenith included him. The purpose is to get permission for a larger clinic. The point is to focus on Torsi and give him a good memory.

Bran, I don't mind if Drova tags along but you need to be active. If you don't post, I'll move the character for you so the pace doesn't slacken. If anyone else wants in, that's fine but the player's reason should be interaction with our old friend before he runs off to Basic. :p

The other characters will focus on the mystery behind the Fiends, and on setting up Building defenses. Defenses are paramount. If you don't do it IC, it hasn't happened. So far, we have Primordial's work on the front door. Time for characters to start listing what they have and making sure it's ready. For example, Romy has a large weapon. He needs to figure out how much ammo he has for it. Player!Tsu is taking a break but I'll have char!Tsu reinforce her ice wall and tweak it according to suggestions. Bran should check on his helicopter and visit the cultists to inquire about fuel. Sandy has fellow healers to attend do; Brit could use some tasks. The lobby needs sorting and supplies need to be listed.

Perhaps Romy or a Froxian could suggest a weapons check? Have everyone bring their gear to the dining room so it can be assessed and the tech priests can offer to repair anything that's sticky.

If you ain't got it now, you won't be able to asspull it later. Muahaha.

I'll post as soon as Swith wraps up the clinic scene.

Cer, Halloween is on Saturday this year. Can we do a Creepfest weekend?

For newer members, the annual Creepfest is when we pause all stories and run an encapsulated event. Usually, we get to run one or two characters and posting is kept simple in order to embrace action. Example... Creepfest 2013.

Eeeeeek. Nevertheless, I'm on board.

I would also be happy to send Nick on the quest, largely because I think he would want to bid his friend au revoir.

Regarding weapons check: Does Kwa'a need to for instance grab every pan in her kitchen to count as having them provided she returns to the apartment to get them? I'm thinking 10 pans, various sizes/styles. Quite a few, say 7, were removed last night IC - Rmwtyliin had one, say five were left at the door for other fighters to potentially use, and she held onto one but probably set it down on the roof.

Has the Building retrieved or replenished the pans? They were part of kitchen furnishings as opposed to brought by Kwa'a.

Same question goes for kitchen utensils. I would be shocked if her ideal kitchen did not have some rather dangerous weapons ie steak knives. (Ditto for other people's chars.)

Even Rmwtyliin likely has a spit usable as a polearm, as it was a component of medieval kitchens belonging to nobility which she would be familiar with.

Everyday stuff used as weapons on the fly wouldn't count. This is mainly for people who carry firearms, rockets, etc. We'll run short on ammo if we don't find an arms dealer. Some characters would have a greater reason for having lots of ammo on hand. Mon's characters had that range back in Bielefeld. She could say they stored some surplus ammo there. Minerva only keeps a few boxes for her side arm because she normally grabs anything extra from the cultist storehouse... she can't access that now.

I'm going to say "no" on the kitchen items replenishing themselves if removed from the apartment. Basic expendable goods, such as (cheap, scratch 2-ply toilet paper), would always be on hand. The theory is that Demens isn't going to replace what goes missing... otherwise characters would pawn the microwaves, stoves and refrigerators knowing new ones would appear.

Some things are a prior running gag. Ogoti has shitty taste in footwear and stinky feet. It's a subtle hint to him.

I actually kind of like that characters still have to physically shop for some things. It sets up good starting set-ups for possible stories.

Oh, okay. My characters' armories are basically the contents of apartments although Kwa'a has a sling and needle and I think a knife to cut fabric and Nick theoretically could rig something with the spider silk, like a catapult maybe...Swith, Naomi has a claim on some of it. Would you be interested in them doing that together? (While I expect the quest to be fun Nick isn't really in the group for it right now. I would like, however, for him to have a chance to say goodbye to Torii if possible/practical for you, Torsi.)

So Kwa'a's down to three pans, four if she grabs the huge/heavy one from the roof. Drat, but alright. (Cue creativity. Or possibly a request for a weapon. And likely NPC interaction while shopping later.)
