Brit can assess those that have gone to library or are under their own power, but taking everyone up a flight of stairs to assess them means those that don't need critical care are coming back down the stairs while those with wounds are climbing in order to be assessed. Assess them at the gate, carry them up the stairs if it's determined they're critical.
Edit: use the elevators as well, for those being carried. It's slower than steps but less awkward for the ones carrying them.
I always thought the dining room was connected to the lobby. At any rate, keeping the triage away from the Fiends is a high priority for me and with it being right in the lobby, well that's not entirely safe.
