Enlistment processing got pushed back. Apparently I needed my pharmacy records to prove I hadn't been prescribed ADD meds since out of high school, but since the records technically only go back two years to my oral surgery's hydrocodone prescription even though officially it goes back the 5 years they want, we can just lie and say I didn't use ADD meds in high school.

Still, poor Swith. Wish I knew some kind of remedies. Oh well, when all else fails, drink Vernors and put some heat on it.

After almost a week of delays, the UA post is now out. Apologies again for all the delays, but I've moved everyone back to the Building. The group successfully procured:

  • Two wheeled fuel pods (volume of 250 gallons each)
  • Fuel for said pods, as well as fuel in Thaddeus' truck
  • Two M2 Browning machine guns
  • Several boxes of .50 BMG (belt-fed)
  • A dozen or so 37mm shells
  • A dozen or so 40mm shells (equal amounts of solid and beehive rounds

All in all, not a bad day considering how we muddled along. :p

You know what, I'm going to go do a one-shot. I've got some things I need to work out so this is mainly going to be something action oriented.

And it only took me an hour. The One Hour One-Shot Hour. I feel better after writing this. Optional music put in for your optional enhancement of your reading experience. No real plot or story, just full-on action.

Brit woke up like any other morning, or rather, afternoon. Staying up late was a bad habit, but she couldn’t help it. There just weren’t enough hours in the day anymore. She sat up and held her head. The usual white t-shirt on, but the night was hotter than usual so she had kicked off her thermal pajama pants before last night. She sat around the edge of the bed and put her forehead in her hand, breathing a deep sigh. So much had happened, and they were just getting started. There was nothing more she wanted than to just cut loose or fly away. Something to change this rut she found herself in. This rut of misery and self-loathing that was slowly but surely killing her on the inside.

Just at that moment, there was a knock on the door. Brit arched her brow. She wasn’t expecting any visitors at all today. Everyone should be out doing their normal thing, really. She reached under her pillow and retrieved her M1911A1 that she kept just in case. She checked the magazine to make sure it was full, and then the chamber to make sure there was a round loaded. The safety clicked off as she held it behind her back, walking to the door. Slowly, she reached and grabbed the handle with her left hand, showing as little of herself as she could while she cracked the door open.

"There she is! Open fire!" Came a very unfamiliar voice muffled from fabric.

Brit swung the door open and drew her pistol, firing three times into the faces of three men dressed entirely in black tactical uniforms and gear. She stepped outside, adrenaline and heart pumping full force now. Two more on their way. Two shots to the face from her with the steadied weaver stance. They dropped dead. Five rounds shot, three left in the gun. She went to the stairs. A helluva lot of them were on the way up, she could hear it. She dove back to her room and grabbed a Mark 2 Fragmentation grenade.

Heavy footsteps from combat boots resounded from the stair case as the assault continued. Brit emptied the last three rounds into the wall to keep them from getting to ballsy. At that point, she pulled the pin on the grenade and flung it to the staircase. Quickly now, she snatched an MP5K off one of the dead soldiers and ran around the corner, burst spraying the entire magazine into the crowd of operatives crowded there from trying to flee from what would be certain death. What they didn’t know, and Brit did, was that the grenade was inert. A dud.

The girl dropped the empty submachine gun and grabbed an M4A1 carbine. Switching the selector to full-auto, she heard a ding sound. The elevator. She stepped in front and held the assault rifle at the hip. When the doors opened to reveal yet more soldiers in all black, she wasted no time in wasting them. Blood was splattered all over the hallway walls and floor. No time to dawdle; she had to keep moving. She stepped in and exchanged the empty carbine with a Remington 870 that was missing the buttstock. She hit the button for the next floor down and followed it with the stairs.

Soldiers on their way up to her floor heard the same ding noise and went full auto into the elevator just like she did. They stopped when they realized that it was empty. Shots rang out as double-ought buckshot twelve gauge shells were spent in their direction, effectively putting them down for good. No time to count the bodies or the ammo. Brit retrieved a Sig P226 and moved on after checking the magazine. The sidearm complimented her with a full magazine. She moved on down the stairs to the next floor.

Four soldiers greeted her with suppressing fire before she could even round the corner. She stood by and waited for the inevitable reloading phase they would have to go through. And when it came, she popped out and emptied four rounds before going back. She nailed two before they began firing again. One stayed back while the other moved forward. As soon as he came in view, Brit popped the round in between his eyes. She dashed forward and grabbed the drag handle on the back of his TAC vest and let him fall onto her. The last remaining soldier opened fire again, but all rounds were hitting the meat shield she now held. She waited to hear that clicking noise before she rolled it off the side of her back and came around with two rounds through the throat.

As she watched the soldier clutch his neck, she spun and fired into the stairway again at the next assailants on her case. She fired until the gun went empty before grabbing an M84 flashbang off her former human shield, and tossed it down at them. She then grabbed the G36C he was carrying that still had half a mag in it and ran down after hearing the bang. A butt to one of the guy’s Adam’s apple produced a sickeningly loud crack as he dropped. Once again, she emptied the rest of the magazine into the soldiers in front of her. The process of playing gun game after each engagement kept her going this time with a USP in .45 ACP. She slid down on her back to drop two soldiers she had in her immediate sights.

She heard the beating of soles behind her just as she was about to stand up, and rolled over to avoid a riot shield almost cutting her head off. Not wanting to be outdone, the assaulter drew a large night stick. It was clear that this guy was probably the leader given how much armor he was wearing. He also chose to go with the nightstick instead of a nickel-plated revolver on his hip, which she took as an insult. He charged her, but she had flexibility on him. She back-pedaled, trying to take shots at him. His riot shield was in the way, but his boots were also armored.

There was only one way to do this. She stood her ground and waited for him to bring up the nightstick. When he did, she dropped down below and got into his personal space. The last rounds went out the top of his helmet as his nightstick struck her in the shoulder. She winced, but barely felt enough pain to stop. How could she at this point? She pushed the hand away and retrieved his revolver and riot shield.

Feeling confident, she called the elevator and patiently waited. Not long and still empty, although it had fresh bullet holes all in it along with bloody bodies. She hit the lobby floor button and braced herself. Taking the time to stock, she retrieved an M67 frag grenade, a SIG SG 552, and a UMP 45 to use. The elevator dinged to bring her attention back to the situation at hand. When the doors opened, she found the entire lobby full of soldiers. They looked more surprised than she was, even more so when that M67 came flying out from behind the riot shield. The initial blast took out and wounded a number of them, but they still posed a large threat to her. So, she posed a larger one.

She came up guns blazing with the UMP from her shoulder, putting rounds down range into anyone who dared move. She was like a sentry turret as she put bursts into anyone she saw in her view until the magazine ran dry. Once it did, she threw it aside and grabbed the SG 552 to repeat the process until the gun was spent and the lobby was decorated with red. She grabbed the riot shield from out of the way of keeping the elevator doors open and the revolver. She stepped out to hear yelling from one of the soldiers wounded in the initial blast. She spun and checked him with the shield, letting it fall off her arm and onto the guy, as she wasn’t really wanting to lug that thing around at all. One shot to the eye silenced him and the lobby. Bodies were strewn out all over the floor. Blood smeared across the front desk and the walls.

Brit stood amidst the carnage, having lost the feeling in her hands as part of the adrenaline rush as well as her face going numb. She didn’t have much time to take stock of the kill count, which seemed to rank somewhere up near thirty or so hostiles, when the front door opened behind her. She turned around with her pistol at the ready, but all she saw was a middle-aged man standing in a black suit with short brown hair.

"You seem to have passed the point of no return." He said cryptically in a tone that sounded smooth yet eerily upsetting.

Brit looked down at herself. There was blood all over her. It stained her hands, her skin, her hair, and especially her white t-shirt and panties. She looked at the revolver in her hand that also had some flecks of blood on it and the rest of her onslaught came rushing over her at once. A metallic click drew her attention back up to the front door. The man smiled at her, holding a Beretta M92FS with the hammer cocked.

"Run it again."

Before she had a chance to react, his finger curled around the trigger and pulled it home.

The girl’s eyes shot open. The ceiling was in full view, but that was it. Slowly, she sat up and found herself in her bed again. She sat around the edge of the bed, putting her forehead into her hand and sighed deeply. There was a heavy knock on the door. Was she expecting anyone today? She didn’t think so. Slowly, she grabbed the M1911A1 handgun out from under her pillow that she kept there in case of emergencies. After checking it was locked and fully loaded, she put it behind her back and got out of bed. She slowly approached the door, grabbing it with her left hand, and cracked it open…

Primary Objective: As part of her clans tradition, Enali must acquire something very valuable to contribute to the prestige and sustainability of clan Archdreamer. Secondary Objectives: Aside from earning renown within her clan, Enali seeks to become a famous Dungeoneer and a thief of note. She'll gladly take any jobs that require subtlety whether it be a simple pickpocket, extracting items from ruins, or committing larceny of highly protected property.

MUNDANE SKILLS
These do NOT require points. These are the average, daily things your character can do. Examples are "drive a car", "speak a normal Foreign Language", "play a guitar", "write poetry". Some mundane skills come from your bio and are freebie. A soldier knows very basic training (shoot a gun, basic drill). Medic, martial arts or sniper would be a Specialized Skill or Talent.

OPTIONAL SUPERNATURAL CHARACTERISTICS
You have 7 points to spend here on supernatural skills or abilities. Sonic Scream, Levitation, Spell Casting, Shape Shifting etc. Superman MUST have his kryptonite, so Restrictions are what can't they do with their power or what balances it. They can only use it when they genuinely need it? They can't use it for more then five minutes without serious side-effects? Some things are allowed without points. A pegasus has wings thus it can fly. A raptor is fast thus no points are spent in speed. These "natural" abilities should be listed in the character's description, however.

Ability 1: Flowmotion
Power Level: 3
Strengths: Able to easily move throughout the environment by utilizing surroundings (such as buildings and close walls).
Weaknesses: This drains Enali's stamina at a greater rate than if she were to simply perform under normal conditions. (Regular sprinting and stuff).
Restrictions: If not careful in regarding her surroundings, Enali can easily misstep and plummet to an untimely demise.

Ability 2: Natural Magic Resistance
Power Level: 4
Strengths: A Dark Elf specific racial trait. With the Dark Elves worship towards numerous 'evil' gods separating themselves apart from their regular elf compatriots in appearance and religion, all Dark Elves find themselves gifted a natural resistance towards the effects of various magic. They'll be effected in a significantly lesser degree by abilities mainly involving metaphysical, supernatural, and spiritual attacks.
Weaknesses: While immune to most magical and mental harm, this resistance does not carry over to physical harm. Magic or abilities that cut, bash, slash, or inflict some other form of physical damage will not be mitigated. In addition, Magic used to heal or aid individuals in some way will be ineffective on a Dark Elf.
Restrictions: This resistance is limited to the petty magic cast by most mortal creatures. Those with greater proefficiency in performing magic (PC's, Gods, Etheral creatures, etc.) will have a significantly better time in achieving the intended effects of their abilities.


MAGICAL OR SPECIAL ITEMS
List: - These daggers were forged by the clan elders of Archdreamer. Passed down from numerous other clan members, being gifted these blades symbolizes a prominent future in being an agent for the clan and a capable thief like most Dark Elves are. The blades are coated in 'Alcheic' poison, the liquified innards of a rare flower that originates around the clans main encampment. While modern medicine has made it entirely possible for this poison to be treated if the subject receives medical attention, the main idea for this poison is to be fast acting and will effectively prove fatal 100% of the time without treatment.

Poison Info: Time of death can vary depending on the severity of the wound inflicted with the daggers, but a victim will normally die in under 45 minutes without sufficient treatment. It's effects involve an annoying itch, slowly followed by loss of feeling in the limbs and eventually total paralysis. As the poison spreads through the blood stream, it will begin to melt veins and internal organs until the innards are nothing but mush and the victim is choking on their own blood.


BACKGROUND
Education or Training: Trained from a young age in the art of being a thief by fellow clansmen as most Dark Elves in her clan had risen to prominence in the profession. Most of what she knows today is thanks to the teachings of the clans scholars and warriors to the younger generation.
Character Background/Biography: Like all members of clan Archdreamer, Enali does not know her birth parents, nor does she need to as all members of the clan are taught independence and self-sufficiency from the moment they learned to walk. Those who could not swim simply sink, and those who find themselves swimming are handpicked by the elders to undergo various trials to prove their worth for the clan.

Enali always had a knack for lying to the adults and a fascination with venturing into the unknown. According to the elders, she would be a fine addition to the ranks of the adventurers. Soon enough, Enali found herself undergoing personal tutelage under the guidance of some of the clans best adventurers. She would be shown what to look for when exploring ruins, how to detect traps, and how to put these exact same skills to use during a theft, something that all Dark Elves were infamously known for.

Upon reaching her Eightieth birthday, Enali was cast out of the Clan in order to put what she had been taught to good use. Given instruction on certain items she was to obtain, Enali patiently blends into society as a freelance 'adventurer-for-hire'. If successful, she'd find herself undergoing the ritual to enter adulthood next. She would be the youngest adulthood according to clan mechanics.

Brief Description: A young Dark Elf that has set out to make a name for herself. She'll readily take a variety of dependable adventurer jobs, or any well paying job under the table. While on her own and away from her clan, she's ready to do what she must to make a living and live up to the expectations placed upon her.

I believe I remedied all of the issues, though I do wonder if the Daggers still need a power level given that I took out all their magical aspects. They're about the same as ordinary daggers now with the exception of their symbolic meaning and the poison.

I also cut the 'Inner Darkness Externalization' entirely and replaced it with a racial trait for Dark Elves. That being the increased resistance towards magic-esque attacks.

It's all tied in. Cipro can cause tendon ruptures. She's been on it for a while, mainly because the radioactive iodine treatments compromise the immune system. The moral of this story: cancer sucks and so does its cures.

Restrictions: can only be used while the lantern is lit.

Ability 2: Magical tracer (spell)-Can locate residual magic left over from spells using her lantern. More complex and carefully hidden spells can be more difficult to find
Power Level: 4
Strengths: Can find residual magics of most spells.
Weaknesses: Can't react to spells 2 higher than her power level, or if concealment is placed on a spell 1 power level higher. Does not work on white magic, as the lantern only reacts to other forms of magic.
Restrictions: Can only be used while the lantern is lit.

Ability 3: White light revolver (spell)- able to project magical shots of pure light.
Power Level: 2
Strengths: Pierces most
Weaknesses:
Restrictions: Can only be used for five minutes at a time.

MAGICAL OR SPECIAL ITEMS

  • Lantern of white- A magical lantern capable of illuminating the darkest areas. It has vast magical properties to assist a mistress of the light brigade. The lantern can only be lit for roughly 10 minutes, or, if the revolver is called, 5 minutes. After being depleted, the lantern naturally replenishes after 3 hours before being able to be used.
  • White Light revolver- A pistol which is made out of light from the lantern. It shoots out a purified white energy. Only lasts for 5 minutes.

Some comments:

Ability 1: Light warp (spell)- A simple teleportation with limited use. The basics is that any surface that is shined on by the lantern can be phased on through.
Power Level: 1
Strengths: Allows her to move through nearly undetected. She can move through locked rooms

1 is a very weak level. Not enough to go through any surface. You'll need at least a 3 for normal walls/doors, and a 4 for reinforced ones (spells, charms). 6 or better to pass through heavily warded areas. Bear in mind that you won't be able to use this ability at all within the Building -- or, if you do, the character might find herself phasing through something that looks like a wall only to end up in a pocket dimension without any oxygen.

Magic tracer: Can find residual magics of most spells. You might have some problems with this. There are spells, and then there are natural talents. We make the distinction in PL due to multiple genres in play. The lantern won't be of much help inside the Building (overly saturated with magic).

Age: 17 is young, though it seems to be the average RPer age. There isn't much mastery of anything at this age. The older the character, the greater the experience level. She'll be operating at a hindrance for this reason.

Good and evil: determining "malicious intent" is up to your character based upon her experiences and moral code. One man's evil is another man's good. What one character sees as "bad" or "malicious" might be a noble act according to another character's moral code.

The light revolver is a no-go. You need to define it better before I'll allow it. A level 2 pierces nothing.

  • Lantern of white- A magical lantern capable of illuminating the darkest areas. It has vast magical properties to assist a mistress of the light brigade. The lantern can only be lit for roughly 10 minutes, or, if the revolver is called, 5 minutes. After being depleted, the lantern naturally replenishes after 3 hours before being able to be used.
  • White Light revolver- A pistol which is made out of light from the lantern. It shoots out a purified white energy. Only lasts for 5 minutes.

1 is a very weak level. Not enough to go through any surface. You'll need at least a 3 for normal walls/doors, and a 4 for reinforced ones (spells, charms). 6 or better to pass through heavily warded areas. Bear in mind that you won't be able to use this ability at all within the Building -- or, if you do, the character might find herself phasing through something that looks like a wall only to end up in a pocket dimension without any oxygen.

Noted. I expected to not be phasing through the apartment considering it's multiversal nature. I figured much of the apartments would appear as more of a hindrance to her powers, so I figured most of her powers would be used outside of the apartments. I'll try and have a better description of what she defines as malicious intent, as well. I'll get the rp sample and the bio done when I can, busy today.

So with Torsii gone once more, I'm actually at quite the loss for what to do with Drova. I'd rather not park him (Considering I'm having a good time playing him), and everyone but Gio was left out of seeing Marcus . . .

That said, some of the magic users are still in the dining room. The Guildies, Dan, char!Prim, Asdra, Sterling, Maghrl, Oumeach (err, Torsii's sith, though we may need to temp park that), I'm likely missing one or two more. I don't think Minerva has left the room... I gotta RE-read IC, my brain's a bit scattered today.

OPTIONAL SUPERNATURAL CHARACTERISTICS
You have 7 points to spend here on supernatural skills or abilities. Sonic Scream, Levitation, Spell Casting, Shape Shifting etc. Superman MUST have his kryptonite, so Restrictions are what can't they do with their power or what balances it. They can only use it when they genuinely need it? They can't use it for more then five minutes without serious side-effects? Some things are allowed without points. A pegasus has wings thus it can fly. A raptor is fast thus no points are spent in speed. These "natural" abilities should be listed in the character's description, however.

Ability 1: Flowmotion
Power Level: 3
Strengths: Able to easily move throughout the environment by utilizing surroundings (such as buildings and close walls).
Weaknesses: This drains Enali's stamina at a greater rate than if she were to simply perform under normal conditions. (Regular sprinting and stuff).
Restrictions: If not careful in regarding her surroundings, Enali can easily misstep and plummet to an untimely demise.

Ability 2: Natural Magic Resistance
Power Level: 4
Strengths: A Dark Elf specific racial trait. With the Dark Elves worship towards numerous 'evil' gods separating themselves apart from their regular elf compatriots in appearance and religion, all Dark Elves find themselves gifted a natural resistance towards the effects of various magic. They'll be effected in a significantly lesser degree by abilities mainly involving metaphysical, supernatural, and spiritual attacks.
Weaknesses: While immune to most magical and mental harm, this resistance does not carry over to physical harm. Magic or abilities that cut, bash, slash, or inflict some other form of physical damage will not be mitigated. In addition, Magic used to heal or aid individuals in some way will be ineffective on a Dark Elf.
Restrictions: This resistance is limited to the petty magic cast by most mortal creatures. Those with greater proefficiency in performing magic (PC's, Gods, Etheral creatures, etc.) will have a significantly better time in achieving the intended effects of their abilities.


MAGICAL OR SPECIAL ITEMS
List: - These daggers were forged by the clan elders of Archdreamer. Passed down from numerous other clan members, being gifted these blades symbolizes a prominent future in being an agent for the clan and a capable thief like most Dark Elves are. The blades are coated in 'Alcheic' poison, the liquified innards of a rare flower that originates around the clans main encampment. While modern medicine has made it entirely possible for this poison to be treated if the subject receives medical attention, the main idea for this poison is to be fast acting and will effectively prove fatal 100% of the time without treatment.

Poison Info: Time of death can vary depending on the severity of the wound inflicted with the daggers, but a victim will normally die in under 45 minutes without sufficient treatment. It's effects involve an annoying itch, slowly followed by loss of feeling in the limbs and eventually total paralysis. As the poison spreads through the blood stream, it will begin to melt veins and internal organs until the innards are nothing but mush and the victim is choking on their own blood.


BACKGROUND
Education or Training: Trained from a young age in the art of being a thief by fellow clansmen as most Dark Elves in her clan had risen to prominence in the profession. Most of what she knows today is thanks to the teachings of the clans scholars and warriors to the younger generation.
Character Background/Biography: Like all members of clan Archdreamer, Enali does not know her birth parents, nor does she need to as all members of the clan are taught independence and self-sufficiency from the moment they learned to walk. Those who could not swim simply sink, and those who find themselves swimming are handpicked by the elders to undergo various trials to prove their worth for the clan.

Enali always had a knack for lying to the adults and a fascination with venturing into the unknown. According to the elders, she would be a fine addition to the ranks of the adventurers. Soon enough, Enali found herself undergoing personal tutelage under the guidance of some of the clans best adventurers. She would be shown what to look for when exploring ruins, how to detect traps, and how to put these exact same skills to use during a theft, something that all Dark Elves were infamously known for.

Upon reaching her Eightieth birthday, Enali was cast out of the Clan in order to put what she had been taught to good use. Given instruction on certain items she was to obtain, Enali patiently blends into society as a freelance 'adventurer-for-hire'. If successful, she'd find herself undergoing the ritual to enter adulthood next. She would be the youngest adulthood according to clan mechanics.

Brief Description: A young Dark Elf that has set out to make a name for herself. She'll readily take a variety of dependable adventurer jobs, or any well paying job under the table. While on her own and away from her clan, she's ready to do what she must to make a living and live up to the expectations placed upon her.

I believe I remedied all of the issues, though I do wonder if the Daggers still need a power level given that I took out all their magical aspects. They're about the same as ordinary daggers now with the exception of their symbolic meaning and the poison.

I also cut the 'Inner Darkness Externalization' entirely and replaced it with a racial trait for Dark Elves. That being the increased resistance towards magic-esque attacks.

While he looks bad ass, he's horrible playing against most of the time :P I play magic with my friends and stuff.

Both STerling and Maghrl will be going, seeing as they represent different types of 'magic'. though force isn't magic, it seems like it, I suppose.

It's good to expand the friendship circle.

The other teens (Kale, Drova, Yuna, Lilian, etc) are only acquaintances. Tora is the only one, other than Giovenith and Myra, that has close friendship with him. Her friendship isn't as tight as Myra's. Myra was also excluded. I combed through Marcus' history to write up his flashback posts. Other then the fight, Drova hasn't spoken to him about anything significant. Kale hasn't either. I don't see a reason to include them in an intimate moment other than players wanting something to do.
