Yup, everybody was there, partially by Amanda's unstated desire. She wanted Rmwtyliin, Septimus, and Rodney to study the Judge while she talked to him.

IC, Amanda regards Rmwtyliin as essentially innocent, and would rather somebody who really screwed up be temporarily exiled from Ascalon. We may need to have a private discussion to decide what to do... if the Judge will let us.

OOC, we can do what you asked and lead Rmwtyliin through the rest of the meeting with the Judge while you're offline. He's going to make a proposal to us, and there will be some discussion about that. After that, shopping, but I think you'll be back by then.

Of that lot, we have a woman that really stands out (Insidious and her lovely skin), and Romy (the armor and his general size), so these two characters are bound to be noticed by agents/whatever.

I volunteer Rodney, however. He can change his human suit's appearance at will, thus no one in UA or beyond would ever see this "version" of him again. As for being out of play... he's a collection of virus. I could easily have him jump ship onto another character, thus giving myself some comical opportunities to pester the hell out of a player. :p Or he can take some of the matrix from his human suit and form it into a "pet" of some sort to stay in play. A ferret, or squirrel, or something pleasantly Nifid in design. (I say in advance: Shut up Cer, no trouser snakes!)

The benefit of this, I'll add, is that the Judge could shoot him in front of his men (once Rodney has done "whatever" to stay in play) thereby retaining his status.

Works for me. Amanda will need some convincing, though, and she hasn't the slightest idea Rodney can do that. But I suppose that's what your IC reply is for. "Ooooh! You can do that! Ride shotgun on Romy to keep him out of trouble, please." :P

I'm clearly not operating in a way that allows me to be reliable, at the moment. I'm going to withdraw, again, but if it's okay, can I hang around and watch until I feel more able to prevent myself from behaving like a selfish loser?
Thought and Memory each morning fly
Over the vast earth:
Thought, I fear, may fail to return,
But I fear more for Memory.

Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Insidious might be able to use here skin and ODIN to pull off a weaker version camouflage just an idea I thought I might throw out their. But that would be up to the desecretion of OP's and CoOPs.

Just wanted to make something clear about Urbem Ascalon, Uppers, and everything related to the city:

UA is meant to be a setting, not a storyline. The setting responds to player behavior and has a wide range of things to offer. If you come to UA for shopping or for leisure or just to hang out and chat in an interesting setting, you can do that. You won't be held up or harassed provided you exercise common sense and follow basic rules.

The current UA storyline with the Judge, the various gangs, the corrupt Council, city manager, and etc. is only taking place because some characters screwed up at the checkpoint and thus aroused the suspicion and fear of the city. Remember that gate jumpers aren't an oddity here, many have made the jump before and live perfectly healthy and happy lives.

However, because they aren't an oddity but a fact of life, measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of the citizens in case hostile or malevolent gate jumpers make it through. This is part of what the group is going through right now.

The city's underbelly is only as accessible as you want and make it to be. NWS mentioned on IRC that he goes to Philly for shows, but that doesn't mean he has to interact with the mob there.

Do you want to interact with the mob, play kingmaker, do jobs for shady people, or try and solve the injustice in UA's main city and the Uppers? Sure, go for it. I'll have stuff for you to work with - lots of stuff.

But if you don't want that - if you're there to shop, to have lunch, to hang out, to go to the museums or to see a show (or even produce one), then fear not. UA is a big city, there's lots to do and you don't have to be involved with all of it. It's a setting, not a story. Make of it what you will. But please, obey the laws - the city can't just have people rampaging through downtown on a whim. Follow the laws and behave like a sane, friendly being and your characters will be fine.

Thanks for clarifying, Agy.

How difficult would it be to open a restaurant there?

Depends where. The Uppers has reliable repeat-customers who aren't too picky in taste. Labor and rent are cheap, but you'll have to splurge a little for guards (or just pay the mob to protect you) and no one's too big a fan of fancy, refined fare: food is not art, and treating it as such and charging handsomely won't work there.

The main city has far more picky clientele with a focus on new, exciting fusion flavors and high-quality food with excellent ambiance and presentation. Labor and rent are, naturally, more expensive, but people are more open to odd or strange cuisines and there's no need to pay extra for security.

Really it depends on what kind of restaurant, where you're locating it, and how much cash you have on-hand.

NCMares is known for making good 40K (and Star Wars) pony stuff.

MLP and 40K are difficult genres to blend artistically, and not just for the obvious reasons. MLP has a very slim, streamlined, and heavily geometrical look, whereas 40K lends itself to bulky, exaggerated shapes, and puts more stock into layers and depth. Therefore, to combine them the artist needs to take a high degree of license with both styles, making a lot of trade-offs to achieve balance and aesthetically pleasing proportions.

And yes. Yes ponies are totes awesome sauce.
