I admit that I don't much like the use of multiple threads....but it's a good system nonetheless. I'm just not used to it.

Also, as co-op, can I approve my own apps, like so?

I still miss when we had an open world.

Yeah pretty much... go for it.

As for the use of multiple threads, the reason we are trying it this way is.

1. It become much easier, this way, to find the posts relevant to you. For a while there we had 4 different locations being RPed in. For a person with chars in one spot this would mean 3/4 of stuff is irrelevant to them. It can become VERY easy to miss a post if you have lots of storylines on the same thread.

2. Once the post count on a thread gets too high it becomes an increasing barrier to new players - and that is bad for the RP group as a whole. There is a natural drop-off rate as people lose interest, the idea of having lots of little, short-lived threads, is that we keep the doors open for new people to come in. For those of you long enough in the group to remember the V2 apocalypse storyline Anowa was running. It looked really cool, but it died (in a large part) because the number of active players was dropping and we weren't getting new people in.

3. This way divides the workload between different OPs meaning I am less likely to burn out. I have no idea what is going on in the Chicago thread - that is CIS' domain - a place for CIS to tell stories his own way.

This is not meant to be restrictive. If you want the action somewhere else just send me a tgram or something and I'll say yes. That being said, the reason I don't want an 'International' thread is that becomes a recipe for characters never actually interacting with each other. I recall a few new characters in V2 who, for their introduction, did something in a town that was nowhere near anyone else and got pretty much ignored because everyone was busy somewhere else.

Anyway, this probably looks a bit like a rant, I didn't mean to write this much, I promise! I'm not trying to have a go at anyone, I just want people to understand why I'm doing stuff in this, somewhat unusual, way. Yes its weird but I am really hoping it will keep this group alive.... that and my naturally sunny disposition

Background: One of the more recent additions to the culture or super heroes, Black_Hat, or Marcus Cox as he is known to his friends is a hacktivist/vigilante who does what he does for the sole reason of he was bored and had nothing better to do. Marcus stepped on stage with the intent of causing chaos for the villains and discord for the heroes as he views both sides as corrupt in their own ways.

Born in Chicago, Marcus grew up in a well-to-do family and was exposed to technology at a young age and by age 8, he was programming his own computer. By age 14, Marcus excelled in the field of computer science and by age 18, was set to leave Chicago to go to Yale and be part of their growing computer science department. But when his parents were killed in a hit and run, his life was shattered. He slowly began to lose everything when he found out that his mother had secretly written him out of the will and all the money his family made went to his spendaholic aunts and uncles. Next, he lost his full ride to Yale when their systems were hacked and all traces of his acceptance were erased. His final straw was when, after he found a job working as a low level computer salesmen in a local tech store, he was robbed and the store was shot up. When that happened, the culmination of everything that happened was, at first, inspiration enough to go vigilante. He took a phone that wasn't destroyed in the robbery and reprogrammed it to run a hacked version of Android, after that, he went after the people who took everything from him. First, he hit the people who robbed the store he was working at, hacking into their bank accounts and funneling all their money to a secret account he set up in the Community Savings Bank.

Next, he went after the person who hit Yale, and ironically, hacked a member of Anonymous, exposing him to the world and handing him on a silver platter to the FBI. Finally, he went after his mother's side of the family, and through forgery, hacking and his urbane mannerism, managed to funnel over $100,000 dollars into his public Community Bank savings account. He was satisfied for a while and opened up his own computer repair center, eventually setting up three locations across the city. But soon he became bored with the corporate life and realized how much fun he had playing vigilante. So he started going out again and running riot in the city's underground. He first started targeting low level thugs and mobsters, stealing their money and putting it in various charities and non-profit organizations, but after a while he started hitting the high level mob bosses and funneling millions to UNICEF and Safe Harbor.

But after a while of hitting the "bad guys" he looked at what the "good guys" were doing as well, police brutality, the tolerance of the freaks calling themselves "super heroes", and most of all, the abandonment of the people those in charge were sworn to defend. So, he went out on the streets and started wreaking havoc on both sides. Leaking details on high level affairs, information on drug movements, but much to his chagrin and amusement, the city began to fall into chaos.

Approved by CIS... Are you sure you don't want to give him some powers though? I don't think he is on par (in terms of meta-human power) with most of the characters.

Weaknesses: His damage threshold is high, but that does not make him invincible. He can't use his power when he's unconscious or unable to use his hands to channel it. Without channeling his power, the energy He builds up could tear him usunder.
Personality: Cares only for the job, devoted, loyal
Background: At the age of seven, a bully accidentally brought his powers to light, ending up losing sight in one eye while Victor was sent away by his parents. He lived in an orphanage until he blasted a hole in a wall, channeling his energy by squeezing a handful of broken glass. He wandered about, taking jobs at the age of 19 and becoming a gun for hire a few years later. He is extremely loyal to the current client, and will use any means to get the job done as soon as possible.

Basically the Mayor (who is also secretly a caped crusader) has called for people to meet at a subway station tonight where he will, in his secret alter-ego, meet the assembled super-team and show them the problem. And because I'm writing it, the story-line is riddled with references to a certain Lonely Island song and the Princess Bride

I feel like I`d have to bring my doctor to some kind of safe house and accidentally stumble across your little portal...

Well the portal is supposed to be deep in a disused tunnel under the city surrounded by gigantic man-eating, fire-breathing rats and the hounds of hell... he would get eaten. Though feel free to have him encounter a gigantic fire breathing rat or a big black hell dog.

a few things:
1.) The Dark Knight's main house isn't in Chicago, it's in Long Island New york
2.) The House is a Manor, It's well guarded so No one would be able to get into the building, let alone get through the outer premisces

You mean a man, who is wearing no body armor or saftey gear, with a handheld Firearm with a 600 round clip, that by proportion is worse than any self respecting Security force would be armed with.
Who could easily be taken down by either High Tech Security systems (automated defense turrets and the likes), or Security guards who have highly been trained, and would be able to take down a man who would just guns blazing.
Not even bringing up the fact that a 60-0 round clip would hinder his movement capabilities and his effectivness in combat.

Time to use some of his inventions though e doesn`t have much cause he kind of had to flee Block Island and leave most stuff to explode and sink with the sub.
