I'm no longer Tuscany. I'm North Italy(minus Venice) now. And why not? I've already explained the reasons I can. I'm a trading power, and even though I'm a Catholic nation, I am unbiased about trade and relations with non-Catholic nations, so my unbiased outlook towards other nations would mean they have no bias with me, therefore allowing me to travel through Gibralter. You are not God, you don't control the Straits of Gibralter, and it's up to the Andalusia player to decide whether or not I would allowed to travel through the Straits.

Well your no fun. North Italy is Catholic, it's not hard to imagine a united North Italy.

When you have little knowledge of history and how the world worked and why Italy was always divided, yes it seems very easy to imagine.

Also the whole Catholic argument is really not a thing. All of Europe was essentially Catholic pre-Reformation, did you see one single Catholic nation there? Nope.

The let GB and Burgundy do it... though more likely because they couldn't fully prevent it.

And... I don't know what the attitude towards the NW is, really. I mean, we clearly didn't have a "Spain owns everything" Papal assertion like we did IRL, so there's less of an objective reason to get in people's ways.

Though, if the Papacy DOES own a colony, it's existence in the event of war would be tenious at best, since they can't re-enforce it...

Immigrants would be a stretch, except maybe from North Africa. The sum population of Italy is ranged at anywhere from 11 to 16 million. Tunisia would have in the hundreds of thousands, at most

That's because England and Burgundy don't need the Straits of Gibraltar to reach the New World and as I said, have Atlantic coastlines. Unlike all of the Italian states.
