What do stronger fleets have to do with anything? You could have Sweden train your army and Burgundy train your navy. I don't want any ports which, in the event of war, would be easy pickings for any power, nor do I want to send missionaries. Do you have anything else to offer?

stronger fleet to protect their port (and by default Persia's coast)

I have spices, silk, wine, food to offer and for the naval powers a foothold in the Persian Gulf

Quite a bit. The President has a lot more power than the PM, as IIRC the President can issue executive orders without having to go through Congress, whereas the PM's power is based entirely in Parliament.

Of course Rnclave, being an "expert" in US gov would argue that they are complete opposites.

He's apparently an expert having taken a highschool class on it.

Oh, did not know about the Exec Order. I knew such things existed but I did not know it allowed him to bypass Congress. At least for the PM he is not semi-powerless for half his term by mid-term elections.

I was never much interested in American politics, UK, Russian and German politics have always interested me but never the US much. I guess I should know more about it as we apparently have a Special Relationship with them (which just sounds like Friends with Benefits) but I have gotten this far in life without it.

Either way, being ruled by real Iggle Piggle , fake Iggle Piggle or the Republicans is not good for any of us.

I misspoke, friend. I confused Burgundy with the Netherlands! Of course the Dutch are the best sailors!

I don't really want the Navy trained, the Shah's don't really care about it. But I guess it couldn't hurt.

I personally am bored by US gov and domestic policy as a whole.

I much prefer the UN(despite being against it), NATO, and foreign policy/international relations and econ as a whole.

I would be correct in assuming that smaller armies in general are better equipped than big armies. Small as is relative size.
