And that's exactly the reason I don't like medieval history in Europe, Asia and most of the world. No offence, of course.

Because these people deserve the right to return to their rightful homes, villages and cities where they lived peaceffuly alongside the Turks for hundreds of years?

You are talking about Anatolia only, firstly, while I am talking about the general area of the former Byzantine Empire.
Secondly, the reason this happened in Anatolia, was because Greece was eager to claim more territory in Turkey, something Kemal Ataturk obviously fought against.
Should this have happened? No. However, wishing to return to borders from hundreds of years ago shows imperialism and a wish for expansionism.
Don't think I like the Turkish government or anything, what they are doing now, especially, is infuriating to me, but this is for another day. I believe history has shown us that Greeks shouldn't attempt to take back Anatolia. Because what happened in the 1920s will happen again. And there were deportations of both Greeks from Turkey and Turks from Greece.
