Biography: What’s important for the character right now is not his birth, nor his early life. I will leave his professional life and everything before the war to be fleshed out in the IC. No, instead, I will talk a bit about how James got into the mess he’s currently and, and we’ll work from there, shall we?

James Alpin never was a man of war. When the conflict started in 1939, he was already too old to be enlisted. He would be no use on the battlefield. This, the government recognised, and they allowed him to keep teaching at Cambridge for the duration of the war, be it an ever-shrinking class of people. Many of whom wanted to become medics in their own right when they were done. Many were the letters he got from parents, informing him that some old student of him had fallen. He kept all these letters in a box under his bed, and added every single one he got.

Eventually, the Maelstrom Crisis began, and an expeditionary force was put together to enter the World Beyond. And who would be better suited to medically accompany this mission than the old Professor Alpin, the man which such interest in biology and geology? He was contacted by Military Intelligence in his home, with one offer only. An offer, they said, he would to best to not refuse. So, he accepted, more in memory of his fallen students than anything else. He gave his measurement for a hated uniform, got some fire drill with hated weapons (even a luger, which he got from a German colleague), and he was shipped off to Berlin to join with the expedition. May the Gods be merciful.

Personality: Friendly, but a bit to himself. The rest will appear in the IC

Biography:
Born in the upper state of New York, David was raised in the middle area between the city and total wilderness- the lovely countryside. For most of his life he played with his best friend Charlotte, he knew her as Charles or Charlie, he loved to read and learn; but David was also very curious from a young age. If he did not know something he sought out the answer and let no question evade his mind.

David at the age of five became a Boy Scout, he learned a lot about the outdoors and even when he was not on trips with the group would adventure outdoors with Charlie. He learned a lot as a Scout and enjoyed the activity, until he saw a senior Scout verbally abusing a younger one, interfering a physical fight broke out which saw the younger and smaller David grab and metal trash can lid and use it to defend himself as a shield before gaining the upper hand as he dodged the punishment- a councilor would come to find David holding a bloodied trash can lids in his hand as the older boy laid on the ground. The lad would recover just fine, but David was expelled for the Scouts for not coming and getting an adult when the fight happened. After five years of his life being devoted to the Boy Scouts of America David instead sought the comfort of his best friend as he began to have a severe distrust and dislike of authority.

In his mid teens now, David's only grounding force was Charlie, the one who talked him out of all sorts of stupid ideas. He'd found and old busted up motorbike in a shed out in the woods, brought it home and tried to fix it. So he would race anyone who wanted to have a run down the dirt roads in his home town. His grades in school were rubbish and only through Charlotte's tutoring did he survive.

Reaching the age of sixteen, after talking to his parents- and Charlie's, the two were allowed to buy an apartment in the city of New York as the depression had hit home finally and they were going out to seek jobs. David found a job as a librarian at a public library, while Charles became a nurse at the local hospital. Whenever the library closed David would go see Charlotte which ended up meaning he would sit and keep patients company until she was off work, one could usually find him reading books to the children or listening to whatever old stories the elderly wished to share. He wanted to join the military but was refused for his age, he even tried to lie on record about his age, but was stopped for being under weight. The next two years of his life saw a great change him him though from the scrawny boy to a average looking guy, I said great change- he is not Steve Rogers, guys.

Humor aside, he joined the military right out of high school. Not picky on a branch he was instead requested for a joint Allied company titled Knight Company, despite only being twelve men their officer had authority to command or commandeer assets including amphibious landing equipment up to fighter planes. He was requested for his interest in the medical field and for his prior attempts to join illegally, being told he'd be sent to prison otherwise, he graciously accepted the odd proposal and joined the Knights. His experiences in war would involve, but not be limited to, learning how to fly a plane (only totaling one and breaking the wing of a second in the process), learning how to avoid and escape from behind enemy lines, learning to drive a tank and repair it (he also managed to total a tank after asking the question of "Wonder what this does?"), learning the basics of psychological warfare (basically scalping the enemy, mounting their head on a stick, and leaving a nasty message in the local language). After all was said and done, he was chosen out of Knights once the war was officially placed on hold as he was a Combat Medical Officer with experience deemed necessary for the mission at hand.

Personality: Meek and quiet, he is reserved until a fight breaks out in which he is totally different.

Likes: Learning new things, saving lives, stopping bullies; good food, trying new food, cooking; reading one of the two books he always has on him

Dislikes: Girls (he is very acutely scared of girls), bad tasting food (unless it is the only food available), people who actually agree with the Nazi and Communist ideas

Things OP Accomplished Today: Part One

• Added new section to After World at a Glance spoiler. Created descriptive in-game calendar w/ celestial events, phases of the moons, and major Near Realm celebrations. Comparison with Gregorian calendar in same tab to keep confusion to a minimum. High Fantasy & Lore Fans should gush in Ecstasy.
• Minor tweaks in The Bare Necessities spoiler section. Will probably still be tweaking after I post this.
• Moving the Dramatis Personae & Cartography Thread now as I type

I'll put this up in a announcement page eventually, but I expect players to use their civilizations respective calendars when it comes to apps, and IC posts. Currently, there are two calendars, The Gregorian and the Telerian Reckoning, which can be viewed in 'The After-verse' page in the 'After World at a Glance' spoiler. Past Occupations, Positions, Roles, Ranks and Achievements: Was Captain of Marquis Karataor Vis Dernverum's personal guard, prior to her desertion, the chosen champion of several far eastern feudal lords.

Equipment:

• Default Main Weapon & Special: Her twin katanas. Originally a pair of feudal lords disputed the ownership of the twin swords and agreed to settle the matter via a duel of champions, one of which was Eluette. However she became so enamoured with the swords that after winning the second for her employer she stole both and fled the country pursued by a small army. She has since forgotten the swords's names.
• Default Secondary: None, apart from her fangs.
• Attire: The clothes she can be seen wearing in the picture I will add (eventually)
• Misc. & Other Stuff: A small pack containing rations, a good amount of money, a sturdy length of rope and a small stockpile of green tea which Eluette has discovered to be palatable when flavoured with blood.

Moral Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.

Biography: Sparrowstep is not Eluette's blood name. She was originally born to very minor, Brittanian nobility, with all the privilege and stifling expectations that that entails. She had a largely uneventful childhood, far too uneventful for her tastes the only bright spot being that she discovered and unusual talent for swordplay after pestering her Father for lessons. Always though she yearned to travel, to see the world she had been tempted with by so many books and traveller's tales. She was reasonably bright and as mentioned previously good with a sword. She judged these assets sufficient for exploring the world and so, a little after her 19th birthday, she simply left. She Packed some supplies, picked a direction and headed East. Well, she headed south for a bit, crossing the channel and reaching mainland Europa. Then she headed East.

At first the whole enterprise went quite well. Dallacia was quite charming, the local customs quaint and wherever she went she could always earn money by challenging the locals to wagers of swordsmanship. The look of utter shock when her opponents realised they had just lost to the spritely young elf girl was something Eluette learned to savour. However as much as she enjoyed her travels she grew tired of hearing the same advice over and over as she headed further East. \

"Pick a new direction before you reach Ostfalia. The Vampires will eat you alive." They all said. "Literally," They hastened to add. "They're Vampires, that's what they do."

Eluette didn't take too kindly to being told what to do. In truth she hadn't really been intending on only going East, or rather, she hadn't really thought that far ahead yet. But as soon as people told her that she couldn't Eluette immediately set her heart on doing exactly that. She was reasonably smart and good with a sword. She could handle a few vampires right?

Perhaps not. Perhaps it was merely the particular vampires she encountered that proved her undoing, a hunting party lead by the Marquis Karataor Vis Dernverum. The marquis was himself regarded as quite the swordsman and so was quite amused when the plucky young elf challenged him to a duel for her right to pass through his lands. She lasted about twenty seconds, which to her credit was about ten seconds longer than any mortal had managed to last against the Marquis before and about nineteen seconds longer than anyone really expected her to.

Sensing Eluette's potential, the marquis elected to turn her rather than leaving her to bleed out and thus began the second phase of Eluette's life. As a fledgling Vampire she entered into the Marquis's service, first as a pupil of his strict tutelage and later as a guard, finally rising to command that prestigious group. She learned to navigate the labyrinthine politics of vampiric society, she learned to enjoy the thrill of combat and the taste of blood on her sword and her lips and she learned the patient, eternal pleasure of improving her swordcraft, it was here she was given the name Sparrowstep in recognition of her skill and in replacement of the blood name she had long since left behind. However even after all the new qualities her life had taken on that niggling little itch called wanderlust hid in the corner of her mind, waiting for the quiet moments between fights and parties to beg for satisfaction, the unknown began to call to her again as it had so many years ago.

And so she simply left, as she had almost a century ago. And like a century ago she headed east, because why not? Her adventures towards the Far East are poorly documented, although in certain oriental ports you can hear stories of a strange, western swordswoman who paid her way with wagers. She made something of a name for herself as a mercenary or bodyguard for hire, fighting for this lord or that one as the gold or her inclination suited her. Finally she had travelled so far East that there was no were further east to go, here Eluette found herself among a strange island nation, said to be the land where the sun rose every morning. Eluette found this place to her liking, it was beautiful and exotic and its people were proud warriors. It was a pleasure to test her ability against them, to add their techniques and knowledge to her own and she spent quite some time among these strange people.

But a traveller is a traveller by nature not choice and soon enough circumstance and her own restless spirit saw Eluette depart what he had come to see as her second home. Having gone as far East as her feet would take her she found herself mildly curious to see what had happened to the land of her birth. With nothing stronger than this guiding her she turned around and headed West, although she turned South first, cutting a wide loop along the coast of Afrrika.

Her journey through that strange continent was a story in its own right, but it culminated with her arriving in Engalia just in time to be caught up in something truly fascinating, even to a globetrotting vampire.

Personality: Eluette is most strongly, perhaps even solely, motivated by her curiosity. Her only passion is to experience the new, the exciting. She cares nothing for acquiring money , power or material gains except where they arouse her curiosity or enable her to pursue other things that do. However her flightiness should not be taken for foolishness, she has seen enough of people's natures in her travels to cultivate an understanding of how other people think. Eluette has also been diagnosed with a serious deficiency of moral fibre. She bears no one any particular ill will and is quick to forgive and forget but bears no one any good will either and will have to induced somehow to take a side on any issue of right or wrong. As a final note, Eluette tends to be forgetful of details that don’t interest her, especially names.

Likes: Travelling, fighting strong opponents, people with sweet blood. Learning or experienceing new things.

Dislikes: Being told what to do, being stuck in the same place or forced ot focus on one thing for too long. People who hold back or fail to live up to their potential.

Biography: Jack Callahan was born in Arlington, Virginia on July 2, 1912 to a military family. His father was a military engineer who would soon be called upon to fight in the Great War. He survived the War, and as Jack grew up listening to his father's war stories, he became determined to join the military as well. In 1930 at the age of 18, he was accepted to and decided to attend West Point, where 4 years later he would graduate with honors. Shortly after graduating, he was offered a scholarship to study at Oxford University, which he gladly accepted, and after 4 more years of study and a successful defense of his dissertation on Ancient and Medieval European Folklore and Mythology he received a Ph.D. in History in 1938.

A year after his return home, the World was plunged into chaos. Then Lieutenant Callahan took a job in D.C. with the War Department, where he remained for the next two years. He was still in D.C. when the Maelstrom suddenly appeared over the city, and monsters of all kinds began pouring into the city's streets and flying above its skies. As many panicked and ran or were evacuated, Callahan along with a few other soldiers and policemen stayed and fought. The knowledge he had gained of mythological creatures during his time at Oxford proved critical, as he was able to devise plans and have his men target weaknesses he had learned from ancient texts. For instance, he was able to defeat a dragon by covering a car with meat and loading it with satchel charges, which he detonated after the Dragon swallowed the vehicle, mimicking a story from the apocryphal additions to the book of Daniel. Using these tactics, he and his small cadre of men were able to hold out and defend the city until reinforcements arrived. For his actions in D.C. Callahan was promoted to Captain and awarded a Silver Star. When the Argo Expedition was formed, he was chosen to command the US force into the final Maelstrom...

Biography: Septimus Cornelius Scipio was born into an important noble Telerian family (one directly descended from one of Telerius' Praetorian Guards, though the family no longer knows it) in the Telerian Capital of Constantinopolis. Born to be a military commander, he was trained from youth in combat and the military sciences. At 45, he was given his first command. Over the next few years he proved to be a competent commander and lead his men to victory in a few minor skirmishes.   Determined not to suffer the same fate as his father, Tiberius commissioned the finest blacksmiths in the Empire to construct for him a mighty suit of armor. The blacksmiths took their task quite seriously, and collected the finest materials from every end of Aesir: the chainmail was forged from a Mithril alloy, while the helmet, gauntlets, greaves, and breastplate were formed from Damascus Steel. A wizard was contracted to make the cape, and while sewing he enchanted it to protect the wearer against hostile spells. When all was said and done, the armor took over a decade to complete and cost more than the combined armor of an entire battalion, but it had turned out beautifully and any worries Tiberius had about falling in battle died the moment he laid eyes upon it.

Biography: Tiberius, a direct descendant of Telerius, was born in Constantinopolis in 1830. He was groomed from birth to become the next Emperor, and was taught by the finest tutors and trained by the most accomplished Commander in the Empire. He proved to be an excellent student, and his education proceeded quite rapidly. His education was interrupted however in 1875 when the Orcs (once again) declared war on the Empire. Now aged 45, his father Emperor Gaius, felt that it was time for him to learn about war first-hand, and so when the Emperor took command of several Imperial Legions and launched a campaign against the attacking Orcs, he brought Tiberius along with him. Tragically, during a critical battle with an Orc horde, Emperor Gaius was killed after being struck in the heart by an arrow fired by an Orc assassin. Seeing their Emperor lying dead on the field, the Telerians began to rout, but when Tiberius took the Imperial Sword from his father and in his rage charged head-on into the enemy, his men rallied behind him, and victory was pulled from the jaws of defeat. He never forgave the Orcs for killing his father, and to this day he despises the species.

Upon returning to Constantinopolis he was crowned Emperor, and thanks to his victory he started his reign with considerably greater popularity (among both the populace and the military) than many of his predecessors. His former instructors were made his advisors, and with their help he proved to be a very competent leader. Over the next few decades, he worked to improve relations and increase trade with the other Elven nations, Dwarves, Lycans, and Centaurs. This helped to strengthen the Telerian economy, and Tiberius used much of this extra income to bolster Teleria's defenses and improve its military.

These actions proved critical when the Second Ostend Dominion was formed and the Great Anema War began. Levying his recent diplomatic gains, Tiberius met with the leaders of the other Europan powers and formed the Europa Alliance. Thanks in no small part to the strategic genius of Tiberius and his Grand Domesticus Octavius Pompeius, the war was won and the Second Dominion was abolished, but the war took a heavy toll on both sides. For much of the last two decades, Tiberius has been rebuilding what was lost in the War, and further strengthening the Telerian military in the hopes of preventing another Anema War from ever happening again...

Side note: Unfortunately, as Tiberius felt that he should wait to become wed until he could use it as good political leverage, he has not yet married and has not produced an heir, which has many in the Empire worried that Telerius' blood line will die with him.

• You broke my spoiler.
• Fix them dates. All information relating to time in After World can be found in the 'After World at a Glance' spoiler in the After-verse Page. For days, months, and years, check it out there. There is a 195 year difference between the Gregorian and Telerian calendars, so be sure to factor that in. Example: 1942 Gregorian is 1747 Telerian
• Tiberius is a Paladin-class without Paladin skill attributes, which maketh non-sense and can get him killed in combat. Remember, Paladins are Aggro generators on the field. Which means they are enemies first targets, so they need to be tough. So, three options. (1) You change his class to something falling more in line with the skill points you've allotted. (2) Re-allot some skill points to strength and endurance so that he's more Paladin-like. (3) We keep things as is, but you promise me to buff your strength and endurance in the IC with the first points you get.

Biography:
Born in the upper state of New York, David was raised in the middle area between the city and total wilderness- the lovely countryside. For most of his life he played with his best friend Charlotte, he knew her as Charles or Charlie, he loved to read and learn; but David was also very curious from a young age. If he did not know something he sought out the answer and let no question evade his mind.

David at the age of five became a Boy Scout, he learned a lot about the outdoors and even when he was not on trips with the group would adventure outdoors with Charlie. He learned a lot as a Scout and enjoyed the activity, until he saw a senior Scout verbally abusing a younger one, interfering a physical fight broke out which saw the younger and smaller David grab and metal trash can lid and use it to defend himself as a shield before gaining the upper hand as he dodged the punishment- a councilor would come to find David holding a bloodied trash can lids in his hand as the older boy laid on the ground. The lad would recover just fine, but David was expelled for the Scouts for not coming and getting an adult when the fight happened. After five years of his life being devoted to the Boy Scouts of America David instead sought the comfort of his best friend as he began to have a severe distrust and dislike of authority.

In his mid teens now, David's only grounding force was Charlie, the one who talked him out of all sorts of stupid ideas. He'd found and old busted up motorbike in a shed out in the woods, brought it home and tried to fix it. So he would race anyone who wanted to have a run down the dirt roads in his home town. His grades in school were rubbish and only through Charlotte's tutoring did he survive.

Reaching the age of sixteen, after talking to his parents- and Charlie's, the two were allowed to buy an apartment in the city of New York as the depression had hit home finally and they were going out to seek jobs. David found a job as a librarian at a public library, while Charles became a nurse at the local hospital. Whenever the library closed David would go see Charlotte which ended up meaning he would sit and keep patients company until she was off work, one could usually find him reading books to the children or listening to whatever old stories the elderly wished to share. He wanted to join the military but was refused for his age, he even tried to lie on record about his age, but was stopped for being under weight. The next two years of his life saw a great change him him though from the scrawny boy to a average looking guy, I said great change- he is not Steve Rogers, guys.

Humor aside, he joined the military right out of high school. Not picky on a branch he was instead requested for a joint Allied company titled Knight Company, despite only being twelve men their officer had authority to command or commandeer assets including amphibious landing equipment up to fighter planes. He was requested for his interest in the medical field and for his prior attempts to join illegally, being told he'd be sent to prison otherwise, he graciously accepted the odd proposal and joined the Knights. His experiences in war would involve, but not be limited to, learning how to fly a plane (only totaling one and breaking the wing of a second in the process), learning how to avoid and escape from behind enemy lines, learning to drive a tank and repair it (he also managed to total a tank after asking the question of "Wonder what this does?"), learning the basics of psychological warfare (basically scalping the enemy, mounting their head on a stick, and leaving a nasty message in the local language). After all was said and done, he was chosen out of Knights once the war was officially placed on hold as he was a Combat Medical Officer with experience deemed necessary for the mission at hand.

Personality: Meek and quiet, he is reserved until a fight breaks out in which he is totally different.

Likes: Learning new things, saving lives, stopping bullies; good food, trying new food, cooking; reading one of the two books he always has on him

Dislikes: Girls (he is very acutely scared of girls), bad tasting food (unless it is the only food available), people who actually agree with the Nazi and Communist ideas

• 18 is a bit young for this story and your characters achievements. Captain at 18, for example. But if that specific age is a major thing for your character, I won't make an issue of it.
• A few factors have already been used. Brusia's and your characters are both Captains in the U.S. contingent of Argo. This is conflicting, since there is no distinction between superior and subordinate. Since Brusia's app was first, and he has applied for the National Commander plot role, he gets first dibs. Please change rank to something lower than Captain.
• The first four player apps posted for Earth characters will have to be different classes, so that Argo doesn't start off unbalanced. As it is right now, Argo's offensive and defensive capability isn't looking so hot with two Medics and one Guardsman. And since CC beat you to posting first, I'm going to have to request a Class change from you.

Joseph hailes from a family of French colonists from the French Morroco from his paternal side while from a german workers family from Strasbourg. Born into a middle merchant family in Casablanca. His father; Joachim de Brassard was executed alongside with his platoon during WW1 after the officer had accused for desertion but they later found out that the officer was found out selling information to the Germans in exchange of money but he father and all those who followed him were never redeemed.

When he was old enough he made an application to study into the Hochschule Furtwangen University; in the Weimar Republic into the applied sciences. There he witnessed Germany's deteriorating state and fell sad about it due he is half german himself. But there was nothing noting about his life in Germany, he returned into Casablanca brifly in 1935 and left one year later to join the army. He had received two years training as a subofficer and served into the colonial army fighting against the African people.

When WW2 broke out he was tranferred with his colonial unit into Metropolitan France.

He survived the War, and as Jack grew up listening to his father's war stories, he became determined to join the military as well. In 1930 at the age of 18, he was accepted to and decided to attend West Point, where 4 years later he would graduate with honors. Shortly after graduating, he was offered a scholarship to study at Oxford University, which he gladly accepted, and after 4 more years of study and a successful defense of his dissertation on Ancient and Medieval European Folklore and Mythology he received a Ph.D. in History in 1938.

A year after his return home, the World was plunged into chaos. Then Lieutenant Callahan took a job in D.C. with the War Department, where he remained for the next two years. He was still in D.C. when the Maelstrom suddenly appeared over the city, and monsters of all kinds began pouring into the city's streets and flying above its skies. As many panicked and ran or were evacuated, Callahan along with a few other soldiers and policemen stayed and fought. The knowledge he had gained of mythological creatures during his time at Oxford proved critical, as he was able to devise plans and have his men target weaknesses he had learned from ancient texts. For instance, he was able to defeat a dragon by covering a car with meat and loading it with satchel charges, which he detonated after the Dragon swallowed the vehicle, mimicking a story from the apocryphal additions to the book of Daniel. Using these tactics, he and his small cadre of men were able to hold out and defend the city until reinforcements arrived. For his actions in D.C. Callahan was promoted to Captain and awarded a Silver Star. When the Argo Expedition was formed, he was chosen to command the US force into the final Maelstrom...

Issues with the Afterworlders though.

• You broke my spoiler.
• Fix them dates. All information relating to time in After World can be found in the 'After World at a Glance' spoiler in the After-verse Page. For days, months, and years, check it out there. There is a 195 year difference between the Gregorian and Telerian calendars, so be sure to factor that in. Example: 1942 Gregorian is 1747 Telerian
• Tiberius is a Paladin-class without Paladin skill attributes, which maketh non-sense and can get him killed in combat. Remember, Paladins are Aggro generators on the field. Which means they are enemies first targets, so they need to be tough. So, three options. (1) You change his class to something falling more in line with the skill points you've allotted. (2) Re-allot some skill points to strength and endurance so that he's more Paladin-like. (3) We keep things as is, but you promise me to buff your strength and endurance in the IC with the first points you get.

Thanks I went ahead and changed Cap's last name back to Callahan (hopefully that will appease the King of Cameos ) and fixed the dates. As for Tiberius, I'd hate to reassign too many points from intelligence and charisma (seeing as how those things are pretty important for an Emperor ) but I still feel that, of the available classes, Paladin is the most appropriate for his character. Perhaps we could make some sort of King/Queen or Noble class for characters like Tiberius, whose leadership positions necessitate high skill levels in intelligence and charisma? (If not, I'd be fine with option 3 )
