As for Kyuubi and the others, they are just about to travel to Metropolis and find Gabriel, you know, follow his trail....

As for the Overseer, he has just now got his powers back, as Wasp released them.

Alright. Lets see if I can figure it all out.

I think I probably did a first in this RP, delay a major fight that was cut into parts for days now.

Would it be possible to have one or more of your characters show up in a lobby in the Hotel? You could give it any number you want; I just need a convenient spot for Zatoichi to met with them and convince them to aid in the war against the demons.

Planning for the Chphlyggnu Arc has begun.

Postby Kaidou » Sun Mar 06, 2016 5:08 am

Character's Name
Josiah (real surname unknown)

Gender
Male

Species
Human

Faction
None

Skills/Powers
Apart from being reasonably physically fit (i.e. Able to run around 10km without stopping and strong enough to do 40 push-ups back-to-back) and adequately proficient in MMA (perfectly capable of surviving an average, small scale street fight), nothing really stands out about Josiah. He's just an average boy.

Appearance
Image

Height: 178cm (though, being only 15 coming on 16, he's still got a bit of growing left to go by his own reckoning)
Weight: 67kg
Eye colour: Dark Brown (almost black)
Hair colour: Black

Personality
Intuitive, yet jovial and chatty, Josiah is a perfect example of an ambivert, willing to engage in social activities (as long as they don't involve partying and hedonism), but equally happy with holing up in a room and reading a book (though he isn't particularly knowledgeable on anything per se). Ultimately, it depends on his mood.

Despite his relatively young age (or, some say, because of it), Josiah has a very idealistic outlook on life and society, a stark contrast to the pervasive pessimism and nihilism of the rest of Chphlyggnu. He, unlike almost everybody else, believes that the sorry and pathetic state of the Chphlyggnian nation is remediable, and (despite the fact that his circumstances make it impossible for him to do much) hopes that, in future, he can make a difference to his isolationist and slowly decaying society.

More than anything else, however, the three things that the idealistic Josiah wants most are freedom, adventure, and happiness.

Short Backstory of Character
The legend of Ayushiri's Jewel had attracted billions of foreign peoples to the oceanic, frequently chilly planet of Chphlyggnu, of which Josiah's parents were two. Despite the fact that there was no access to the planet via the Hotel, many people still made the trip to the planet, hoping to obtain the Jewel that would, if eaten by one worthy of its power, grant light powers comparable to those of Kizaru the Satyr.

The story of Josiah's parents was somewhat tragic; after making the precarious journey through the void with the help of a stepper, the unknown father and his wife, Ichiyō (a Japanese-Chinese honourably discharged soldier from Dimension 29) settled down in an inn in the city of Schneehaus, on the continent of Tans-III, Chphlyggnu (a huge planet, about the same size as Neptune). They stayed for a week, during which time Ichiyō conceived. As he was heavily intoxicated on the night they made love, Josiah's father (in a fit of delirium) went completely mad at Ichiyō, beating her and vowing to kill the child, whom he believed she had conceived with the innkeeper, a lesser elf named Tenzou. Tenzou, whose own father had perished in an attempt to slay Ogklrygma, stepped in to intervene, and drove Ichiyō's husband out of the inn. The man, filled with rage, went directly to the port to set sail for Ogklrygma's circle, disappearing completely. As with all people who do not return from the Ogklrygma trip (known as the Ogsmeina in Chphlyggnu), the unknown father was declared to have died.

Tenzou, taking pity on Ichiyō, decided to give her a room in his humble inn, to allow her to recuperate and, God willing, to raise her son in peace. Nine months after conception, Ichiyō gave birth to her son and died shortly afterwards. Tenzou took it upon himself to raise the boy, naming him Josiah after an old friend of his, a friend who had died long ago, after trying to go after the Jewel. Though he was uncomfortable raising a "son" (he had never done so in his life), Tenzou was more than willing to give it a shot, as he believed it to be a moral obligation.

Josiah grew up relatively well, considering the fact that Tenzou was on the upper end of Chphlyggnian society. He would often go out to the marketplace with his stepfather, learning the names of the things that were being sold and interacting with the merchants, learning more about the world outside.

His first taste of pain came when he was seven. While at a playground in the evening, Josiah was approached by a group of street urchins, some no older than him. They surrounded him and beat him up, simply because he didn't look underweight, unlike the lower "castes" of Chphlyggnian society, ergo leading them to see him as bourgeoise. Josiah escaped from the encounter badly battered (he gained an ugly scar under his eye), but alive nonetheless. For a week or so, he sank into depression, before being scolded by Tenzou for being melancholy. He picked himself up, and decided to teach himself martial arts. He picked up a number of karate books from the local library and taught himself the basics.

When he was eight, Josiah went out into the streets in the late evening to buy dinner for himself and Tenzou ("Uncle Tenzou", as he called him). Noticing a group of punks gathered inside an alley, Josiah dashed in and tried his luck against them. He was no match for them, however, and was completely defeated by the whole group, which, out of anger, attacked him with a branding iron, leaving a big scar on his torso. They would have killed him, if the owner of a café nearby didn't show up with a meat chopper to rescue the boy and chase the gang away. He treated the boy's wounds and, after finding out who his caretaker was, sent him back to the inn, where he was bombarded by Tenzou.

Tenzou never discouraged Josiah from doing what he wanted, however; as Josiah grew up, the innkeeper gave him more freedom to go out into the world, to find his own future. The boy became stronger and stronger, he believed, with each failure, with each fiasco. No doubt, he would learn to defend himself from the little demons that lurked in the underbelly of society. And yet... the elf knew that there were much greater, more horrible things out there in the world that Chphlyggnu had been so cruelly disconnected from. On those, he remained silent, for fear of crushing the boy's youthful idealism and turning him into yet another brainless machine in Chphlyggnu.

The fate of the youthful, spirited, passionate boy known simply as Josiah took a momentous turn one day, when he was 16. Uncle Tenzou had brought a strange bunch back to his inn, a strange bunch that would change his future entirely.

Trivia:

The Song, Voodoo-by Godsmack, is one of Crowe's favored songs when in dangerous situations(usually when he has died or been killed.) Using soul sing, not only does he sing himself back to life, but he can also use the song simultaneously to kill those around him, by magically forcing them to sing the song, and instead of reviving, the victims are literally stripped of their life force, completely powerless to stop it.

However, he is not required to this, it is simply a means to attack his foes after they beleive they have won.

He can also use this song(as he has shown with Father Christmas) to revive others besides himself. There are no real side affects to those resurrected other than stiffness, blurry sight, and headache. However when Crowe uses it on himself, he is a bit more...Primal...though still in control of his thoughts.

Fauna has a different song that she uses for resurrection, as does Bonnie Bear. Most bards do not have the same song used for resurrection, and the same can be said for any situation, really.

Also, Conta, has my latest character been approved? There's no rush to introduce him yet considering how the trip to Chphlyggnu is still a while away, but I'm just interested in the status. :P

In short the vermin is the Midgard serpent, it is literally around the planet. So once the vermin is dead it will create a earthquake and will split the sky, allowing to be open to the multiverse. Also to make matters worse is the fact that winter is coming, most of the characters will have a bounty on their heads because the world government is making it a law to consider anyone after the jewel a criminal and there are bounty hunters working with Nixa after the jewel with one already making his way to the vermin itself.

So Jason just has to fling it into Orbit and kill it there, then make the carcass go flying off into space?

(Jason can fling it by moving so fast that he can lift it as if it weighed nothing.)

It's not that easy. You see the tectonic plates of the planet were changed due to the vermin and once it is gone they will cause an earthquake. You can make the carcass fly into space so they don't have to deal with it's body but the earthquake will still happen.

yeah when it comes to epic adventures, Jason is a bit of a buzz kill. Anything that can be consider difficulty, he just removes it. Of course, Jason has never been one for questing any how, they are a bit too easy for him. Though he will do them if he needs gold or to protect those he loves. Jason is an Ahmarhan class character. while he can't win against one, unlike Maju and the others, he can FIGHT them. Jason does qualify for recruitment, and he is the most powerful version of himself, however no Ahamarhan will recruit him because they know he will never accept to join, no matter the events that occur. Because of his history of the Aireni, Jason has no trust for any organization regardless of cause.

as for the Earthquake dillema
Jason can stab the ground in just the right places at just the right speeds to counter the earth shaking movement, simulating the exact quaking force but doing it in a parallel pattern that negates the shaking. he can do both of these tasks if need be.

remember that Jason while using the Calm, has unlimited Speed and Precision.
If your wondering why Jason is in the rp, it is because his role is as the most optimal canditate to fight the Ahmarhan, yet even someone of his skill and unbelievable ability is no match for them. he is there to show that even a miracle of person is no match for the Ahmarhan.

Jason is only one person, and while he CAN fight them, having only one person face an INFINITE organization of unbelievable power and skill, even one such as he would have little chance. if there is to be any hope, you must gather all resources possible. Jason is only one such resource....so no, the quests for both the jewel and Naegling are not pointless. to face the Ahmarhan, we will need everything we can get. Jason is only one small part of that.....

To put it simply, look at it like this:

Jason is the hairline wall before unending sea that is the Ahmarhan. he is the brittle base line to which our group must build our wall to stand against the Ahmarhan. The Jewel and Naegling add to it, but are not the only pieces, everyone plays a part. but will the wall be enough? that is the question for our heroes at least for the moment....like i said earlier, i've already told everyone what the purpose of this rp is. ^^ Putting these pieces together is part of this struggle and the string of acts of desperation our characters will inact.
