Brief Description of Army (quality, size, equipment, morale): France has reduced it's army size dramatically since the end of the great war but a National Service of 18 months is still compulsory. The overseas empire is garrisoned by the foreign legion and native colonial regulars. Currently French military strategy is based of the winning tactics of WW1, defense is the best offense and when offense must be launched it is with completely overwhelming firepower and deliberate troop advances.
Brief Description of Navy (quality, size, equipment, morale): 20 battleships, 30 cruisers, 42 destroyers, 163 torpedo boats, 61 submarines. The french navy is large and modern a requirement due to Frances extensive overseas territory's.
Brief Description of Armoured troops: By the end of WW1 France had produced more tanks than the rest of the Entente combined. While tanks were now a vital part of french strategy they were seen and used as armored infantry by the command with more 'innovative' tactics being dismissed. Following the end of WW1 the french developed large amounts of armored cars and half-tracks to be used in infantry support.
