Huh, I certainly can't fault you for lack of effort. Have you ever thought about punctuation other than commas and periods? Your style is one of the few that could benefit from some nice colons (not the anal kind), sexy semi's, and maybe some unorthodox ones like the dash I personally use.
I've thought about using dashes. I'll try it more. Never really used colons (other than some dialogue) and semi's. Examples?
My itch with it is I can't seem to make a good character, one that I like atleast.
Colons are used in the following ways: to clarify a statement by providing further detail (think movie titles), or to enumerate a list of like things.
Semicolons are usually a lot more rare; colons less so. They serve to connect two indeprndent clauses with equal weight of meaning, specifically excluding clarification. Some people use them in situations requiring multiple descriptions or viewpoints; others use them to describe a sequence of actions. Note that they can usually be replaced with commas and a little rewording. Additionally, they will likely be followed by a conjunctive adverb + comma when used to describe sequences.
