Yo! Welcome to Compass Books. Here, we've done sci-fi, fantasy, and even slice-of-life! We seem to have a nasty tendency for making RPs that we all follow around diligently, no matter who wrote them. We're all different people, all different interests, but united under one banner.

We like anime. A lot. Even the ones who don't watch anime, like anime. 'Cuz logic.

Hell, you may already know us. Maybe been in one of our RPs, like The Last Seed Ship and it's reboot, The Arbalest Program, or maybe The Compass Association, the weird, strange wonderland thing. Maybe you're a new member of the highly popular slice-of-life RP, Edwin's Home for the Extraordinarily Gifted, which had thirty plus pages in two days. You didn't misread that. Yeah.

Maybe you've met one of our few members, and just laughed and laughed at the weird characters and things they write. Maybe you're a new RPer looking for help and a friendly place. Maybe you're a veteran who just can't seem to shake the craving for the quirkiness that makes the Bookstore great. Maybe you're a person just looking to have a spot of fun, a decent laugh, and a nice platter of hot wings. We don't judge.

Just expect weird nicknames to be given out in the gallons. Or liters, whatever your respective measurement of liquid is.

Name: Mayonaka Rondo

Age: 18
Personality: Depressed geek with a facade of happiness and humor. She loves British and Japanese culture, and adores books. Some might describe her as 'that crazy geek' or '...interesting' or 'funny', but what she tries not to let people see is that she's actually miserable, so miserable that she's considered suicide a good number of times and nearly committed it three times. She takes a cocktail of medication that helps her stay happier and helps her fit in more, but she's not happy about it. Acts as though she despises romance, but desires to feel loved and tries to quench that thirst with love stories. Hates herself and cares who knows it.
Brief Biography: Mayonaka had a happy childhood, for about the first few years. She learned to read when she was two and a half years old, and her love of reading only increased as she grew older. At five, she began attempting to write her first book(which failed miserably). Unfortunately, when she was seven years old, she began developing problems with her legs. At eight, she started growing more and more depressed, and by the age of nine began considering suicide. At ten, she both had to have intensive surgery on her legs(with a very painful recovery), was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, and nearly committed suicide then and there, before learning to accept it--incidentally, through books--the Sherlock Holmes stories, to be specific.(This was the beginning of a beautiful fandom.) At the age of twelve, she nearly committed suicide again after becoming totally disillusioned with the world and herself, but managed to hang on by discarding the things which had so disillusioned her. Became obsessive at thirteen. Almost committed suicide again. At fifteen, had early wisdom teeth(six of them) removed, and ended up with a swollen face reminiscent of a chipmunk, which lasted through her sixteenth birthday. The next two years were a rush of medications and psychologists, and a lot of misery. Still trying to write a book.

Personality: He has a bit rough personality here and there, from his bad childhood though he is quite nice once you know him deeper. He insisting that he's the sanest in the bookstore, but judging from his personality and the fact that he loves thriller books, novels, and has a weird sense of humor, it's not really true.
Brief Biography:His parents were killed in a car accident on their way to Sunset Gates when he was still a 3 year old child. His parents supposed to got jobs there, having moved from South Korea. In the accident, he was the only one who survived, and thus transferred into orphanage, and then to foster home. His first foster parents abused him physically, and then was removed from their guidance. Despite reformation psychologically and moving to better foster parents, he changed.

Now 20, graduated from senior high school and doesn't wants college enlistment, he found a job at the bookstore.

Name: Charity Dela Rosa

Age: 19
Personality: She is a quiet and unassuming person, and one who often stutters in her sentences. Can be misunderstood. Regardless, she loves books, and this bookstore happens to be where she can browse through them without actually having to pay for it. Preferred genres: adventure, fantasy, science fiction, slice-of-life.
Brief Biography: While she is in every way a resident of Sunset Gates for pretty much all of her life, her parents were Filipino immigrants who came to Sunset Gates to work. Her father was a factory worker at an automobile factory while her mother worked as a caretaker at the local retirement home. Ever since she was young she had an interest for books, and would often beg her parents to buy her some. And who were they to stop her? And so book after book—serial issue after serial issue—whatever they could get their hands on, they bought for her. And so the book pile grew and grew.

Of course, she is currently a student at Sunset Gates College, and she needed a part-time job for her to get some income to pay off the school for her studies. And what better job than working in a bookstore?

Name: B.I.O. Prototype 3729
Appearance: TBA

Age: 76 (Looks 25)
Personality: Depends on situations present, can easily go from drill sergeant discipline to laid back chill.
Brief Biography: Created by an artificial life development facility in Britain, he spent almost the entire 2nd World War as a German tank commander, only realizing he'd been fighting for the wrong side when D-Day erupted. Built as a prototype for the future 1960's model, 3729 was the first B.I.O. to recieve a developing human personality, rather than a fixed code.

He's also a curious AI, seen in his attempts to do anything a human would do. This includes pranks, near-death experiences, and crossdressing.

Name: Ririchiya Akiyama

Age: 19
Personality: She can be bitter, hold grudges, and become very irritated very easily. Of course, all of this can be solved with a bit of bribery and the latest yuri publication passed under the table. Yes, she's an absolute Yuri fangirl, and we're pretty sure the goggles never come off. Beware, for she is dangerously genre savy.
Brief Biography: Riri grew up as the daughter of small town shop keepers, who generally pedalled in the goods you'd usually find in a rural general store. What ended up dragging her into the books business was a carelessly tossed aside magazine containing *ahem* various subject matters. It sort of all went downhill from there. Eventually, what few books she could get her hands on in her small town weren't enough, so what better place to go to find what she was looking for than to work at a bookstore in the city. She can generally be found either working, or drooling over a favorite book of hers in a secluded corner.

Name: Kieran Aegon Vestis

Age: 17

Personality: Imagine a high school freshman with incredible intellect and a knack for blasting aliens into pieces, and you have Kieran Vestis. A borderline hyper socialite with a penchant for childlike jokes and a simplistic sense of humor, Kieran simply seeks to enjoy life as it goes, and help others do the same. He can often be considered immature, childish, or simply plain-old annoying, but he has a certain sense of charisma to his walk and talk, and he can be quite endearing at times. He's always open to discussion, debate, and simple talking should one feel the need to adopt a more serious tone, though he has trouble not attempting to slip a joke or two in when he really shouldn't. Often found perusing the non-fiction(specifically historical), science fiction, and historical fiction sections.

Brief Biography: Kieran's a bit of an oddity when it comes to how he entered Sunset Gates. He was, as it were, in another dimension. Whilst aboard the Argo II, better known to others as the Last Seed Ship, Kieran began to fall in love with some of the older history books in the archives, especially those that actually had physical copies, which were precious few. As he became more and more infatuated with the characters, the stories, and the context of it all, he became more and more tied to a quaint little spot in a city named Sunset Gates. The spot happened to be Compass Books. One day, before daily scheduled training aboard the Argo, Kieran was sucked through an inter-dimensional warp and transported to Sunset Gates. His memory was wiped and seemingly replaced, and in this dimension he was apparently a student at Sunset Gates Academy, studying International Relations. To fill his space between classes, Kieran found a spot - perhaps fatefully - called Compass Books within the city. He spent more and more time there as a customer before finally making the decision to apply for a staff position.

Name: Franklin Orr
Appearance: Marbled Olive skin, Black hair, Jade eyes, 6'2, Well defined Musculature, prefers T-shirts and Work Pants as well as a pair of beaten boots

Age: 28
Personality: Near Mute, Coffee Addicted Aficionado, Overprotective towards his co-workers
Brief Biography: Franklin was born and raised in the country by a pair of men who ran a small Coffee farm together, and by the time he left at the age of 18 he had turned it into one of the Coffee industries largest leading provider of premium beans the likes of which can only be imported, although he refuses to say how. For the majority of the time between when he left and started working regularly at the shop. Franklin has admitted, albeit vaguely, that he traveled the world and preformed various Coffee related quests in both Africa and South America. Although nominally silent Franklin has little trouble getting his points across mainly because of his knowledge of sign language and the ease of requesting most things silently in a Book Store. He normally provides Coffee for the shop as a whole and is happy merely sitting in a nook near the machine which he provided and helping customers or other workers when needed with a small smile.

Yell loudly if I messed something up. That being said, don't actually yell at me, my feelings are fragile, you know, like steel in the cold.

Name: Dagon Argrave
Appearance: Like this, but constantly wearing a red hoodie, black pants, and black shoes.

Age: 18
Personality:Super talkative, almost as if silence can hurt him. If he can't talk to others, he will talk to himself. He is loyal to his friends, and is willing to make them easily, but can find it hard to those close enough to share his own thoughts. Is a big fan of reading, specifically sci-fi, fantasy, and comics.

Brief Biography: Dagon Argrave isn't from this dimension, and as such his backstory is a bit more colorful than others. Created in a test tube by the Archangel program, he was genetically altered to be peak human in both physical and mental capabilities. He was also given a healing factor, which worked so well they had to give him a techno-arcane suit that fed off his life force. He was then sent on various black ops missions, as well as used as a guinea pig by their scientists thanks to his healing factor. During one of these experiments, his psyche was connected to the fourth wall, allowing him to break free from their control. He destroyed the facility and left, freeing his fellow test subjects.

Dagon, free of his tormentors, joined Badass Academy in hopes to help humanity with his gifts instead of hurt it. He became a powerful force for good, leading students on several missions to retake Earth as well as strike back against the monsters which had invaded. During a scheduled break from the fighting, Dagon was drawn to portal room, filled with a curiosity about how it works. Unfortunately, while he was fiddling with something he shouldn't have, he accidentally activated the portal, sending himself to an alternate dimension. Having already taken trips to the monster realm several times, he hadn't been worried, expecting to be stranded somewhere near a Sentinel forward base. However, he instead found himself in the closet of a bookstore.

Upon arriving, he noticed several things, chief among them being that he no longer had access to his advanced armor, weapons, or abilities. It was as if some force was preventing him from using any of his powers. All he found was that whenever he activated his suit, now a simple white and black watch, the surface would display FIND HER in blinking red letters. Having no idea what that meant, Dagon has accepted being stranded in a bookstore, and has since tried reading through their extensive collection to try to find her.

Name: Caitlin Black

Age: 23
Personality: Caitlin was never good at socializing, being cripplingly shy to the point of extreme stuttering or virtually being a mute around others-- however, she was one of the most renowned pilots on board the Argo II, and tends to have a more bookish personality if one can get her out of her shell. She's of average intelligence, looks, and attitude, but is devoted and hardworking when she sets her mind towards a goal (in this case, recovering Kieran Vestis,) and tends to be an oddity. Considered a natural genius in robotics, due to knowledge gleaned from the future and a quirky Artificial Intelligence by the name of Henry inhabiting her faux eye.
Brief Biography: Aboard the Argo II, Caitlin Black was an ace pilot who had a combat record of nearly twenty-three kills. Unfortunately, on her final military operation (during which, she lost her leg) her squadmate and crush, Kieran Vestis, was proclaimed MIA, with signs pointing towards the boy's Dime having been pulled through a now closed singularity.

She quickly retired, and discovered with the help of a certain Director, designs for a device. She and Henry (the AI inhabiting her eye) eventually built what would be called an "Anywhere Door," which could transport them through time and space. Unfortunately, the power required to do this is extreme, and as such, the project was shut down. Not that that would stop her. In the end, there was a raid by Argo II security, and she jumped through the door hastily. At first, it seemed it went off without a hitch-- then she realized she was five years early.

Name: Patrick Evening

Personality: Genius, who only applies his knowledge to one thing-- updating his anime blog and running his store.
Brief Biography: Someone once told him that a magical girl's transformation was impossible.

He proceeded to spend the next few years going into quantum physics, eventually getting back to them a year later with an equation several chalkboards long, proving the theoretical base for the transformation. The person then sent it to a reputable science magazine, which proceeded to publish it. Which then proceeded to make Pat a worldwide phenomenon.

Eventually, he fell out of public eye, starting his own small business and managing his anime blog which, as of writing this, has achieved the first spot on the leaderboards, and won several blog awards.

Clearly you don't remember the argument. I never said that "off with your head" isn't associated with Alice In Wonderland, because I know it is.

The point that I was arguing was that the statement could be interpreted in a way not related to Alice In Wonderland because the idea of beheading has been around for centuries.
