Should have it up in an hour or so, had a few false starts, though wouldn't you risk drawing the pirates ire or would you be taking a calculated risk in what you could offer to other nations in regards to potential hold over them?

It's the military and trade prominence. Regardless of Cambria's legitimacy, their major power status is undeniable, and recognition from a major power does give us an air of legitimacy. It doesn't come with a responsibility on our part, and it doesn't really have any adverse effects. I don't think that it would hurt our relationship with pirates, which really isn't on record anywhere and, therefore, the relationship wouldn't technically exist. Cambria recognizing my independence shouldn't be an issue to the pirates. Besides, relations with foreign powers would definitely be given preference over relations with scalawags.

In short, recognition of independence should keep me from being fodder for a bigger empire, shouldn't hurt my relation with the pirates, and it finally gets that "used-to-be-a-colony" taste out of my mouth.

Working on event post. Aztec and France is done, but I have having trouble with Hansa because there wasn't anything good or bad... I mean from event perspective. Nothing unique, but nothing out of ordinary. Hmmm... what to do...

Anyhow, Rome would be easy, I already know what I am going to do for myself... surprisingly, Aztec post wasn't that bad once I actually KNEW who the fudge Bloody Mary was. So at the end of the day, her existence really made me rethink of consequence game for the Aztecs. I am very glad to know that I was wrong, and Nova was actually paying attention to my event post ^^.

I haven't gotten around to Dutch and Argentina, and I will soon. It seemed like Dutch was more along the lines of landgrab at first glance, but I was wrong for Aztec, so I won't judge just yet until I have thoroughly read through it. I am having a GREAT time reading through all the messages for once ^^

I won't be making the mistake of doing accents again, I've actually quite enjoyed developing that lady, sorry if it seemed confusing at first I'd hoped to have longer to do a slow boil but had to heat things up much faster than I had intended. I intend to do more with her and the other pirates even after the event is over, I presume this is merely the first phase? I would hate to have to deal with Iron Chin once and for all so soon!

You know I took all of Kaiser Wilhelms Land before the event right? And Nordic Union took the south of the island before the event as well.

From a quick read I think it's still in the scope of the event as your attacking by your own admission pirates and it has been said your last post didn't count as it was too soon and somewhat suspect, just a neutral perspective, that and taking that much territory in such a small amount of time without a prior presence would have you overstretched locally.

That and I had to deal with the fact that some of the territory that I claimed as my core was taken over by pirates, just something to sort out.
