Speaking of traps there is a book i am reading with a character named Ackbar. The mc gets frustrated when said character rephrases the phrase ITS A TRAP in various ways.

I'm just figuring out what you mean. Visited a few old, big threads. Changing state of affairs across NS it seems.

Lith retired, Khan gone, Temp hiatus'd, and the summer tide is nigh upon us (enter GoT redux winter meme). Is Vancon and Brusia still here?

I know, man. I'd like to believe that NS/P2TM just seems slow because I'm inactive a lot--but I think it's the other way around, because the people on here I like best have mostly left.

Well, it's a revamped version of my original project except it adds a whole new depth to it. It adds a popularity factor that increases your chances of getting money donated, which the district's Mentor, commonly known as "Money Seeker" or "Seeker" spends on behalf of the tribute.

It's going to be set in a fictional universe that, in order to establish peace and encourage interaction between various cultures, established a Survival Games (I'm still trying to come up with a name for them) that works just like the Hunger Games, except for one thing: none of the tributes are from that world. They are from the vast Multiverse.

You will be playing as the Tributes of another district and a Seeker of your own district. In other words: You sponsor someone else's tributes and they sponsor yours. The District you are from also has a unique item only it provides (this will be approved by the OP and Co-op) to other tributes (part of the encouraging interactions thing). As a Seeker, it's your job to keep your tributes alive, but as the tributes, it is your job to stay alive.

The types of sponsors have weaknesses and strengths. Fans have no money, and are usually evenly divided, but Gamemakers are wary not to kill their favorites in Events. Emotionalists tend to enjoy likeable, relatable, personable tributes and usually spend the little money they have on their favored tribute early on. Wildcards are, well, wildcards that for reasons and purposes known only to them, are randomly dispersed among tributes and spend their mediocre amount of money at random times. Investors have a ton of money and usually go for the tributes with the higher chances of survival or has performed well in the arena thus far., and tend to spend money in the later game.

Whether this is just one Games depends on amount of interest I get.

As a fellow Old Fag, I can relate. Though in my recent travels to RL, I've run across this idea: make new friends. Its a bit strange and can be awkward, but the science of it seems pretty legit. Imma try it in Restaurant with some newbies. I'll report back if its effective.

This reminds me of an Arena-style RP Atria had a while back. Let me grab him, and see if I can drag him back here for a palaver.

A few of you may have been following the progress in the Travellers Cafe, of a discussion concerning an rp i have planned. It will be Called Times Are A Changing. It will follow Superheros and the like from WW2 to modern times throughout the various conflicts and changes, the Premise for the first part is below. It is still a work in progress.

Times Are’a Changing
Throughout history there are records of people holding near magical abilities. These people were all Superhumans or Supers as they would come to be called. These stories and records wre all relegated to being myths and made up. This belief publicly changed in the early 1900’s in 1917 when a Super called the Colonel came into prominence. He was a Tank Commander taking part in the Battle of Arras; more specifically he was part of the assault on Monche-Le-Preux. The tanks had assaulted the position in the middle of the night not knowing the assault time had been changed, they went in and for a while they were successful.

Then the defending force became aware that the tanks had no infantry support, they stormed the tanks causing much devastation. That however was not the worst of it, the Allies had ordered a bombardment on the area. It was as he saw enemy and ally alike dying around him that his powers fully manifested. Up until that moment he was not able to do much actively, only being able to roughly sense where metal was. After that however, he became capable of so much more. He lifted the charred carcasses of the tanks around him and formed them into a massive dome that could be seen by any observing the battle.

Prior to this the existence of Supers had been kept a secret, mostly, being only known of in rumors. After this they emerged into public view, both in their home countries and in the battlefields of the Great War. For a time there was much restlessness with the sudden revelation of Supers, but they did much good in the Great War, and during the period of armistice that happened in between World War One and World War Two. Soon enough nearly every major country of the world had their own forces of Supers.

During the Second Great War, every Country involved sent Supers in to fight. Some sent more than others, or sent them in secret on certain covert missions. While they were involved, they did not become a major part of the fighting until a covert mission discovered just why Germany and her allies had so many Supers. They had been performing experiments on people, to create Supers. Up until then having superpowers was considered a privilege of birth by many and luck. Nazi Germany was able to discover what it was that gave Supers their mysterious abilities.
