We really should just move to the next day. This thing has slowed down to an absolute slog.

I'm fine if the newbies have quit, but the post volume, even with the original crew, has dropped off steadily and refuses to pick up again.

As I sad earlier, everyone around me hasn't been seen for weeks.

Not much I can do, although I'll get onto arranging something for the WM to do after the jump.

Thinking about joining this, and oh my god there's so much science and lore to read. It already sounds intriguing.

I'm thinking that a time skip of a couple days will get us into a position where we aren't reliant on other people to start posting again.

I'd suggest maybe a week at the most, giving the Denverites time to return home and Salida time to recover.

I'm chill with this. I do enjoy this RP and am pretty much in the same position as Refuge, everyone around me has sort of vanished.

A time skip should help things pick up again.

Understood. As of right now there is a good possibility of us jump-starting with a new OP. PLW is AFK so that puts a major dent in the current story, plus it would help to get some new blood in here. In any case we'll know more in a few days.

I'm considering jumping into this. Have some rough ideas for possible characters but haven't fleshed out any ideas yet. I was wondering if maybe someone could TG me a rough summary of some recent going ons besides what is on the OP. I'm reading it myself, I just want to make sure I'm getting the right picture. Thanks :)

To the point a bandit gang, the Vultures, have been terrorizing central Colorado. After losing at Aspen, their leader, Emperor Bill, pulls together a massive war band and goes on the march, razing Aspen and several other settlements. The inhabitants of Aspen are forced to flee and make it to Grand Junction (there is some other divergent plots but they all wind up back together). The mayor of Grand Junction, however, attempts to give the refugees to the Vultures in order to guarantee his own safety, but things go wrong and the settlement is sacked. Fleeing once more, they arrive to Salida where a cult has since taken power under the thumb of Father Mackenzie. Prepared for the Vulture attack, Salida weathers the assault and Emperor Bill is killed by Jen Deckard in a coup. The two powers are now at a standstill with winter quickly approaching (a snowstorm as already hit). Meanwhile, a splinter group of the cult has broken away to escape Mackenzie and the Vultures.

That is pretty much all the major plot points thus far.

On another note. Bei, you think a week would be long enough?

If nothing else, the Vultures could destroy Salida in the interim and the majority of the force could return to Denver. That would allow a smaller unit of new characters on my end to go after the survivors, unaware of their connections to Jen and the original Aspen Expedition.

Additionally, it would ensure that all PLW reliant plot points would be expunged, leaving us open to continue unimpeded.

As I stated earlier, I'd recommend waiting until the end of the week. Then we can reboot and, as a side benefit, have fresh applications for new NPC and PC characters.

That's a good point. We can cut out Salida in its entirety. That would solve our current problem, and if Mackenzie were to conveniently escape then he could become relevant again should PLW ever return. As for how long, what do you think would be a decent amount of time? We could even cut to spring if we wanted to.

I think a week, maybe two weeks, would be more than enough. The Denverites could sack Salida and return to Denver, allowing me to work out the specifics of her rule. With the splinter group, they could easily be split apart or travel farther out, while I could use Denver agents to keep along with the story.

It'd be very similar to the New Evanston gig from the first OUTBREAK, but obviously more successful.

We could potentially skip all the way to Spring, leaving mountains of time to fill in with background posts. That said, it would also allow us to use the infected more, seeing as they wouldn't be "hibernating" as much. I could even use the "Summer Swarms" I've referenced a couple times.

I like the Spring idea. As you said, could use the infected more than they have been so far. As for those in Salida I'd probably have them head south or even east after Salida falls. Mercer and anyone else who wanted would probably be heading back at some point to find Sera (for closure). Sera and the gang would have been separated from Cain, Mary, and the Zealots, removing them from the picture, and probably would have holed up somewhere near Colorado Springs. I think this could work out.

Alright. So I can cook up a post and set it up while you set up a new OP, as I don't see activity picking up anytime soon.

Mostly just the destruction of Salida and Jen's machinations. At least that would get the ball running for the next OOC.

It's probably better we do this now before the RP gets a reputation for being dead, ya know?

Alright. Expect something in the next few days.

For those reading this, a new OP and direct sequel to NML will be coming soon.

Any naming ideas for the new RP? Do we plan to stay in Colorado for the next iteration? Can zombies get frostbite?

For now we'll still be in Colorado. Naming will stay No Man's Land but with a subtitle. Was thinking No Man's Land: Dead of Winter, but since we're going ahead to Spring that won't work. Any suggestions will be considered. And yes, zombies can get frostbite. At least here they do in any case.

No Man's Land: Changing Seasons
No Man's Land: Apotheosis
No Man's Land: The Outbreak Awakens
No Man's Land: A New Hope

You had too much fun with those last few.

This could actually be a good time to get cracking on my NEO spinoff.

No Man's Land: The Thaw

No Man's Land: A New Colorado

Or No Man's Land: The Colorful State (Because it's a nickname for the state.)

Kylo Ren getting mauled by zombies would be an improvement over the actual film.

Also, I threw this together on a whim. Actually kinda like how it turned out.

Also "NEO Spinoff"?
